HELP Polaris no longer recognized

I was just trying to flas a new radio and when I connected my Polaris to my PC it was no longer recognized on my computer. Now I have tried several different computers where my other HTC phone works fine, but the Touch Cruise won't. Has anyone an idea what could be wrong or is there a way to flash a new radio from the bootloader? Would be thankful for any help.
regards
Manny
i know somewhere in this forum is a topic about how to flash phone with sd card, ive seen it somewhere in the polaris upgrading i believe.... maybe an option?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384084 here is a guide howto
Instructions
Thank you so much for sending the link. I will try this now.

np, hope it will work...
Tried to flash from micro sd car, but didn't work either, I guess it is because I don't have the proper bootloader /Hard-SPL installed. I wonder if there is a way to install the HARD-SPL.
that my friend, i dont know... maybe others can help ya... good luck with that!

HTC Hero does not detect PC connection - MoDaCo Rom 2.9

my problem is other way around!
My HTC Hero doesn't detect PC Connection when I connect it using USB cable. Doesnt matter whether I connect USB cable to charger or PC the charging LED turns on.
I had MoDaCo 2.7 rom previously and it was working perfectly, once I upgrade some apps using Android Market (using 3G) after that I connected hero to PC and nothing happen.
I upgrade the rom to MoDaCo 2.9 and new radio file, no success.
Wipe EXT and reinstall MoDaCo 2.9 and new radio file, no success.
I think it should be software problem not a hardware problem, since when I m in "fastboot (PWR + BACK)" when I connect USB cable it should USB in RED color in front of FASTBOOT.
please help! any idea? suggestion?
Did you mount the SD card to USB from the Hero?
My problem is that it doesnt show me any mount option at all!
it used to when connected shows some USB PC Connection icon in shade bar on top left of screen sp I scroll it down click on it and tap on mount button. but now nothing happen! shows nothing! it is like my Hero doesnt detect PC connection and just charges.
Any one has same problem with MoDaco Roms? is it because of Roms?
Today I booted into fastboot and when I ran "fastboot devices" command on my PC I can see name of my device on PC. also on Hero I can see a text in red "FASTBOOT USB" can I do something here to fix my problem?
I used GParted to merge Fat32 Ex3 and Swap partitions on SD card and make it as one Fat32 partition... reformat SD card... still when I connect Hero to PC this error pop up "USB Device not recognised!"
Downgrade my radio to 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Downgrade the rom to MoDaco v2.5
USB Device Not recognized disappeared! and nothing happen...
no success!
Restore to Original backup using Nandroid Restore 2.2.
no success!

Hi
for me with Rom modaco 2.9 usb detection ok i can mount sd but i have lost the HTC sync use. (All working with the last modaco rom).
so you used to have same problem? did u wipe data before rom upgrade? did u install new radio?
thus usb problem seems to be becoming a common virus for hero. previously we had 2-3 users with same prob. now another 1. man this is scarry. i imported my hero and dont have warranty. so anything happens to me hero i am ruined.
Yeah! it is a annoying problem... I found some other people in other forum they have same problem...currently no solution... I ll ship back my phone for warranty, maybe they change the motherboard for me. but I feel like it is not a hardware problem since in fastboot not only PC detect my hero but also I can run fastboot commands.
it is good to inform people who are going to buy hero from Ebay to be carful especially those in HK, this problem is popular among them. mine was shipped from there.

bro did u try flashing to all other firmwares available? a diff rom might solve the prob. just a thought.
The problem happen after I upgrade some application while I was using MoDaco 2.3 Rom. Then I flashed MoDaCo 2.9 Rom with new radio then I downgraded to MoDaco 2.5 (I read in other post that this version of rom can solve the problem) and then I restore my original back which contain original rom came from factory... all same result without any different. Now I m using modaco 2.9 with last radio I dont know any other rom that I can try...

bro cud u plz try modaco 2.8?
my wifi stops working with dhcp in modaco 2.7 and 2.9. modaco 2.6 and 2.8 gives me auto ip from dhcp. so i use modaco 2.8.
I flashed v2.8... same result still cannot detect pc connection! I m going to flash one of the original roms and ship it back...
still I feel like it is a software problem... some directories need to be flashed or reset... perhaps some directories not reset even you flash new rom... anyone has any idea about that?

OH! this problem is spreading!
Can you please tell what happen to your Magic then you get this problem? since still there is not actual solution for that. you can try solution mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4837803&postcount=18 if not just ship back your Magic for warrany: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4965845&postcount=39
I am having this too, and I'm on the original Orange ROM (after being on 2.2 a while back).
A presumed it was a windows 7 issue, since that is the only thing to have changed for me since I flashed last time.
I don't know what happens.
One day it was working, and the day after, not !!!
I'm using win xp3, but I tried to connect this week-end into win 7.
And the problem appeared during the week-end.
So this is maybe a way to investigate !

Another "Please help me" thread

Hi, first of all I'm new here and I'm a complete noob/ignorant, my English is not going to be great and I might have infringed some rule/s with the title of this thread, but I just couldn't think of a better title.
I know you're going to tell me I should've read guides, tutorials, etc, but all this is very new and complicated to me, I'm sorry. I'd appreciate a lot some help, some tips.
The problem seems simple at first: My girlfriend just bought a used HTC HD2 (my idea..), because that's exactly what I did some months ago (with a great success). My idea was to flash TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 on it, because it's the ROM I use and it works very well. The problem is: This used HD2 had already been flashed and it has this ROM running (Tonofu HD 1.3). When I flashed mine I used the PC program "Easy Android" so it was very easy, whereas this one already has Android, MAGLDR 1.13 and all that stuff, so it's not like doing it from the beginning, from the factory-state. Know what I mean? I don't know how to do it from this point.
We downloaded the app ROM Manager but when we tap on "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" it asks us to "Confirm Phone Model" and only HTC Desire appears in that list.
So I said, OK, let's try install ClockworkMod manually (because it's not installed, it seems). And here comes the BIG problem, neither the laptop nor the PC recognize the phone through the USB cable. We tried on both computers, all the ports... and nothing, absolutely nothing appears on the screen. So, of course, when we got into MAGLDR and chose the USB Mass Storage option (so we could install CWM manually) we couldn't do it.
So... how could I install the ROM I want when the phone has already a ROM running? How could I do that without connecting the phone to a computer through USB? Or do you know what might be causing this USB problem? Would a factory reset fix this USB issue? Would it be easier to install the ROM after a factory reset?
A lot of questions, I know... but I need help... I don't have a lot of time... Thank you.

For both via CWR:
Download the *_CWR.zip file onto sdcard
Go into recovery by either holding home key in cLK or using the 8. AD to recovery in MAGLDR
Note: recovery-partition size of minimum 5MB needed
Select Install zip from sdcard
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Navigate/Select the recovery from the sdcard
Select yes to install the recovery
reboot into recovery, and hooray, you are in the new recovery

Ok for some reason I can not get the HTC Mania site to load on my laptop or my Sensation. So I can not see if that ROM that is flashed via a DAF and option #5 USB Flasher in MAGLDR. But if the HD2 does not have CWM installed on it then it must be one. Also if The Mall has went to both option #2 SD AD and option #8 AD Recovery in MAGLDR and there is now recovery then the process that geniusjl discribed will not work as it is no CWM to flash CWM with. Besides if CWM is already installed The Mall would not have this problem.
Now back to the original question of what to do. First go and download the HD2 NAND Toolkit. Install the toolkit on you computer and open it up. Look at the bottom right corner of the toolkit window and click on Download Drivers and then follow the instructions to install the drivers. This will allow your computer to recognize the HD2 when you plug it up via USB. Next click on MAGLDR Update Recovery at the top of the toolkit window and then connect you HD2 via USB to your computerand click on update at the bottom left hand cornewr of the toolkit window. Follow all the on screen instructions and this will flash CWM 4.0.0.0 to your HD2. Then you can download the ROM you want and place it on the root of your SD card and use CWM to flash it.
Thanks! I'm going to try.
Damn.. we have a problem, we installed the Toolkit but when clicking on Download Drivers the link is broken. (cdn.nex.im/hd2_installer/download/hd2_drivers_ksubedi.zip)
Do you know another site we can download the drivers from?
Edit: I finally found this source: mediafire.com/?jf8xbyo2ro0z01z
Edit2: No, that's not it... damn, I need somewhere to download the drivers from.
I can't find any website to download the drivers from. HD2 NAND Toolkit takes me to a broken link so I can't download them. Help, please?

navigate to "clean install cLK", download the package. and you will find the driver included in the package. that driver should work too.

[q] y u no make me root??

Hey Guys,
at first, i hope this question isnt coming again and again, but i couldn't find anything helpful (for ME!) yet.
I have the HTC HD2 and got really tired of Windows Phone 6.5, so i changed it to Android. (Took me weeks to figure that out until it worked)
My current ROM:
Android 2.2 HTC Desire
Kernel 2.6.32.15 by cotulla
I use Magdlr and boot from NAND.
Superuser Elite is installed (bought it), but i cant update it - no matter what i do, it wont let me be root. I even tried the terminal, but when i type in "su" it directly says "permission denied". The problem is, my phone memory is low and i cant install apps directly on the sd-card (never found a guide how to get this automatically done).
What can i do??
i am rly desperate... the sad thing is, my boyfriend (yes, i am a girl) isnt much into smartphone stuff though he's got the new htc sensation - and also not into unix / linux systems - it seems all the guys i know besides only use an iPhone and google won't be my friend...
PLS PLS PLS HELP ME!
oh and sry for the bad language, grammar etc - i'm german ;-)
that is an old, out of date rom. It was the first proof of concept release when cotulla created magldr, so i would advise you to move to a different more recent rom. (We now have roms running android 2.3, 3 and even some early android 4 roms.)
There are very very few roms that flash in quite the same way, now, so you would need to learn about flashing CWM(clockwork, clockworkmod, clockwork recovery, it has several names)
Go get the 'android toolkit' from the android nand section, and then go read some of the guides from HERE

Old, outdated ROM with no root access. Use a newer one.
Yep its an old ROM. Don't worry though, you'll be able to redownload superuser on a new ROM. Just do what Sam says and it'll work fine. Surprised you even knew that you could flash android on to the hd2, because "you're a girl".
= What are you even doing asking whether or not you should root your phone on XDA?! =
ok guys thank you for the detailed informations!
i didnt know the rom is outdated - i guess installing a new one is the best idea in that case. i thought of that before, but it took me so long to get this one working so i wasn't in the mood for re-installing yet.
THANK YOU all, i will let you know if it worked - in case i cant fix this, would someone be able to help me via teamviewer?

I'm pretty sire you won't need to give remote access, you'll be able to do it. All you'll need is the latest magldr 1. 13 (if I'm not mistaking)
Once you've got that, you just need to flash the clockwork mod daf file from usb flasher on magldr, then when you flash into clockwork its easy, just flash a zip file.
You can backup ROM's etc. from clockwork so its really convenient.

I totally crashed it!!
Hi Guys - it has happened
i totally crashed my hd2.
what i did:
i read the guides and got the newest android nand toolkit. so, i performed task29 and installed hspl, then clk. the problem now is: i cant do anything else! when i boot, i get this white clk screen where i can choose recovery normal or sboot. i cant repartition, my phone has no connection when i switch into the mode "with the 3 colours"... so - i can copy to sd card what i want, i can perform every task with the toolkit, even the backup rom for the original windows phone doesnt help because it says: "pls check that you're phone is connected via usb". my pc has the android usb drivers, it shows the device, all ok. i cant go into usb flasher because it seems, no magldr is installed - i tried and tried so many things and now i cant even perform a wipe.
seems i need to give you remote access anyway....
PLEASE! help me!
if you need screenshots i will upload them, just let me know.
Start from the beggining by reflasing with the 3 colours on the screen, im no expert and I use magloader not clk, so try doing a fresh one with magloader and see how it goes

Plug the phone into the PC. Hold the back arrow key after turning the phone on to boot to fastboot . Then either try flashing Cwm via the NAND toolkit or do it manually through fastboot.

[Q] Strange Behavior on TMOUS (Pictures Inside)

Hello to all of you guys, i have searched the forum but have not found a similar problem that I currently have in hands, so let me start to explain.
I have an HTC T-Mobile HD2
Model No: PB81120
SPL: 2.10.0000 8G XE
Stock Rom: Never tried to install anything or upgrade
The phone worked fine until some days ago it stopped working and hangs on boot, screen all white with the logo all messed up and stretched.
I did a softreset, an hardreset, i can boot it on Bootloader (the tri-color screen) and it detects usb.
So thinking this behavior was caused by its software I tried to reset it (soft and hard) but with no luck, if i try to install via USB the phone dont pass the 0% (and it shows no logo above the bar, only a white rectangle with some black lines), then I tried boot from the SD (8gb class 4) but it hangs on Loading... screen (searching the other threads i found that maybe I need a higher class card and if possible with only 4 or 2gb).
Running Task29 from toolkit or trying to install something from the USB does the same thing as trying to install the Stock ROM (freezes at 0%).
So my question is, am I doing somthing wrong, or do you guys have a solution for my problem? And sorry for my english.
P.S: If needed i will buy another microSD card.
P.S2: If you have any questions, I will try to answer them the best as I can.

Based on the second image, it looks like you're trying to re-flash WM6.5 on it, correct? FYI, v3.14.405.2 is not the latest version. I think that v3.14.531.0 is (and the filename is RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.0_Radio_15.42.50.09U_2.14.50.04_LEO_1.5_Ship.exe). I suggest looking for that (it's likely in a stickied thread in the WM6.5 sub-forum) and trying it. If that doesn't work, you might try downloading the latest radio and installing that first.
Another idea: could your USB cable be flakey, perhaps? If you have another that you can grab, try that.
If you can't manage to re-install WM6.5, try installing Android or Windows Phone 7 (see the respective sub-forums), instead. This guide can help you do it for Android, if you're interested.

Ty for the fast answer, I'm donwloading the ROM right now and later i will update with the results. I cannot install Radio only version because I do not have HSPL installed, and about the USB cable, I'm using it with other devices and it's working fine. (I will try to find another USB meanwhile cable just to be sure).
Update, after downloading the ROM I tried to install it via USB but the strange behavior continues, it does not pass the 0% and after some minutes the setup fails as shown in the album I posted in the first post
I'm not sure what more you can try if you want to keep WM6.5. I suppose that you could try to install HSPL, a new radio and even MagLdr, then try to install the WM6.5 ROM again. If it fails, then just install Android or WP7, I guess. I would just do that, anyways, since WM is dead. I would go with the Android 4.3 (latest version from Google) ROM that's in my signature, but it's up to you.

Are you trying to install HSPL through HD2 Toolkit, perchance? Have you tried the standalone version? A link to it is here. I would suggest right-clicking and running it as an administrator, just in case. After that, try using the HD2 Toolkit to repartition as MagLdr or CLK. If it's still a no-go, then I don't know.
OK, I just did a search and it came up with a slew of threads that possibly describe your problem. Have you looked at any/all of these and tried the suggestions in them?

I realize that not all of them describe your situation perfectly, but the replies may still be helpful. There are a lot of things to try. I would read each of them carefully and try them all (as well as check that, the ones that you've already tried, you did the right way).
