Cool, post up how you get on. My battery is too low to update at the moment so just giving it some juice and i'll try it
No update here.
What firmware were you on before? What network?
I'm using a generic rom.

what was your previous version??
I have flashed to KC1 and the only Difference i can spot is that the bootloader has a higher number..
Actually there is KC3 update from what I saw, check this link
http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/...3G/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support#
it updates some parts of the system, SLDR1, SLDR2 and bootloader for sure, don't know about the rest.
//the SLDR and SLDR2 might have come as imageupdate, but the bootloader probably not. It is quite older update so I am not sure if it is still supposed to be new or not
Generic phones will always get updates first. When Samsung get the update from Microsoft and tailor it to the Omnia 7, after testing, it goes public on the generic phones and they also send it out to the netowork operators to then add their own branding and other stuff.
Only other thing i've noticed so far is that the keypad typing tone has changed. It no longer plays a sound for every key press.
Hello,
in spain with a unbranded omnia 7 i not have the update available :-(
This update 'bricked' my phone as it won't start to the OS and only gets into recovery or download mode. When trying to do a backup reinstall with zune (it automatically recognizes the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be repaired) the process gets to 99% and then an error pops up. Also the windows phone update support tool doesn't recognize my phone being in recovery mode and the samsung support tool doesn't put the OS back into functioning. What should I do now ? Luckily I kept a recent backup but not being able to restore the backup sucks.

thanks for the info!
Has anyone other than Orange users got this update ?
Someone on the Windows Phone Blog saying they can't update it and get a repeated error code.
It really does seem to be luck of the draw as to whos updates ok and whos doesn't.
However I always clear as much space as possible on my device before i try to update. I try and have at least 4gb free with a decent charge in my battery and i plug straight into a back USB2 port and so far touch wood, it's been ok for me.
Does anyone know what the recent Samsung firmware update does?
Per the About screen:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2103.11.8.1
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2103.11.8.1
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 5.8.0.2
Chip SOC version: 0.36.2.0
The update did not specify any bug fixes so I'm just curious what it does.
uh, os version.... that would be mango no?
Is this from AT&T?
where/when did you get the firmware update? I havent seen any update notifications on my device yet. i updated my focus to Mango RTM as soon as it was available, my firmware still shows as 2103.11.3.3 also my radio software and Bootloader are different than yours also, Radio is 2103.11.3.3 and Bootloader is 5.3.1.6
Is yours 1.3 or 1.4 ???
Rogers already got 2124.10.12.2
When did you got update notice on Rogers?
I am using NoDo Focus on Rogers and it says No updates available...

mine is a 1.3
I'm still stuck on 2103.10.10 and all the force updates that I've tried have failed. Any ideas?
Ditto on the 2103.10.10.1. I'm still stuck on this (rev 1.3 phone) and haven't been offerened any other updates. Is it possible to force a firmware upgrade as it seems like this firmware is also the reason that I am unable to InterOP Unlock.
Try this. I forced mine when mango came out officially. I thought I bookmarked the page but this is all I have saved. I know it's somewhere here on the forums.

I got the Samsung update on "mango day" I was already on the leaked RTM 7720 so I was stoked to be getting any update what so ever . Turns out that update is firmware and it brought me up to date and back on the update track . What it does is going to depend on what version you are running but if you have mango I can tell you what it did for me. First thing I noticed was the touch to focus on the camera it would focus b4 on touch but not in specific spots of the screen , The compass now works , diagnostics , hmmm I a sure there are alot more but just a few I noticed rite away.

Confirmed working, updated my Rogers to 8107. No bugs so far (internet sharing working fine) and still unlocked.
Here's how I did it:
1. On phone, change the registry in WP7 Root tools to LG as above
2. Connect to PC/Zune, sync, then update pops up
3. On PC, click until the screen with "Update now" and "Update later", don't click further
4. On phone, launch WP7 Root Tools and undo the e the registry changes on the phone, and then exit to home screen
5. On PC, Click "Update now"
Here are the details after updating to 8107 on my Focus (Rogers):
OS version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware revision number: 2124.11.9.4
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2124.11.9.3
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 5.9.2.2
Chip SOC version: 0.36.2.0

The cab method dones't include specific OEM fixes, like Firmware, Radio, etc it just updates the OS. Through Zune you get the correct updates (including OEM), regardless of the method.
It's the notification that's missing and we need to have (it used to be forced through disconnect method for NoDo).

I could be wrong but I believe Rogers was always 2124 and the US 2103.

On another note, interesting:
Samsung focus i917 rev 1.4
Radio hardware: 0.0.0.4
It seems this works only for Focus 1.3.
Since there are no OEM updates with this update, only the OS version number changes. If there were OEM updates, then this method of updation will brick the phone as the OEM updates are not for this mobile.
Does any body has a original mango rom as I am having problems with the flashed roms, My samsung focus restarts several time in a day after flashing roms, I had tried all roms uploaded here,
only AT&T original rom works which is stock , also I am not able to update to mango , it gives me error while updating error codes 80090002 and too many error codes.
I had tried different computers and tried several ways , but failed to update to mango.

Firmware version
Hello,
The only strange thing I see here is your firmware version:
Firmware revision number: 2424.11.11.2
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2103.10.11.2
Radio Hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 4.11.0.9
I have an SGH-i917 Rev. 1.3 and I have the following versions:
Firmware revision number: 2103.11.8.1
Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7
Radio software version: 2103.11.8.1
Radio Hardware version: 0.0.0.3
Bootloader version: 5.8.0.2
Don't know if you have a Rev. 1.3 or Rev. 1.4 but with mine I have been able to update to 7720 via Zune and then push the updates via Cab Sender up to 8773 and everything is working fine.
If you have a Rev. 1.3 you can try pushing the drivers/radio/bootloader update and see if it fixes the problem.

When is it feezing?
After pushing the drivers/radio/bootloader update?
Try this:
Flash the AT&T retail ROM from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131022
After that you should be back on build 7004.
Then, try updating via Zune and it should get you up to build 7720 (Mango).
After you're in 7720, you should be able to push the individual updates from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415 via Cab Sender.
I've done it twice on my device and everything is running smoothly.

Dear
after flashing this AT&T rom I am not able to update from zune , its giving me error codes , i had tried 4 different pcs every time its giving error mostly 80090002, i am able to update to 7390 only.
Hi, I'm trying to investigate whether my samsung focus (SGH-i917) can be flash upgraded with a windows phone 7.8 ROM. I've seen custom ROMs available for rev1.3 or rev1.4, so I began trying to figure out which one my phone is.
There is no such revision is listed on the label behind the battery, and when I check via the diagnosis application I see this:
HW VERSION: REV0.8
I can't find any reference to a focus hw revision 0.8 anywhere online. This is confusing to me because 1.3 is referred to as "first generation".
Has anyone heard of hw revision 0.8? Am I simply out of luck?
Much appreciated, my full Settings > about info:

HW revision 1.0 was sent to developers or was a DEMO phone. Older revisions than 1.0 must be test builds.
It should work flashing 1.3 (as the hardware is the closest) but there's no guarantee it will work. A few users in the forum reported success flashing 1.3 when they realized they bought a 1.0 (which was not supposed to be sold).
Also, the fact that it's updated to 7720 kind of suggests it will work.
