If anyone is buying in NJ, come and see me. (please? lol)

In case anyone still needs one, wirefly.com has the evos in stock. $189.99. there is probably a bing cashback of $25 if you go to www.bing.com/cashback. I can't go there at work though so you'll have to check.
They must have run out again since their splash page now says they are no longer taking orders until Sprint can ensure adequate supply.
I ordered an EVO 7/20 from Wirefly and it still says 3-4 week shipping
I was randomly visiting my parents in Kansas (near Wichita) and stopped in at the local electronics / Radio Shack place I worked at in high school...
they had NINE Evos just sitting on the shelf.
Pro tip: go find a small town and check the Radio Shacks. Small towns (lower income ones, especially) are more likely to have an Evo on hand.
It says Palo Alto but i got this in Dublin, California. Just wanted to let anyone in the Bay Area to know it's there and I guess they have plans to move it east on 580 which is great, because I live in Livermore
Walnut Creek has also had it as well so it is popping up along the 680 stretch between Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.
Updated Rules for Round Three: 6 - 12 April
The "Smoked by Windows Phone" promotion has been extended into a new round. Sorry for not updating sooner. Round 3 runs from 6 April - 12 April. The new rules are below.
There are no more phone trades. You do not get to swap your old device for a WP7 handset anymore.
In every store, only the first 250 challengers will receive a $25 gift card.
If you won a laptop or swapped your old device for a WP7 heanset in round one or two, you are inelligable in Round Three.
If you only received a gift card in Round One or Two, you can win another one in Round Three.
If you win the challenge in this round, you win a $1000 gift card.
Updated rules:
http://content.microsoftstore.com/store/smokedbywindowsphone/rules3
Rule changes for Round Two: 30 March to 5 April
Deal has officially been extended to 5 April, but there are now a few changes that impact swaps in the new round.
There are 100 phones available per store, per day. After the 100 phones have been given away for the day, then the next 500 participants will not have the option to swap, but will instead receive a $25 Gift Card.
The Samsung Focus Flash in black has been added to the phone list.
Pre-paid phones are no longer eligible.
Updated rules:
http://content.microsoftstore.com/store/smokedbywindowsphone/rules2
Requirements:
Allowed Operating Systems:
Android, Blackberry, iPhone, PalmOS, WebOS, some Symbian.
Windows Phone and Windows Mobile are expressly excluded.
Activated GSM or CDMA smartphone.
It must have voice and data service. Contract not required.
One swap per person
You will also need a valid government issued ID.
If you have one of the above mentioned operating systems on a device that NATIVELY runs it, you could swap it out for any brand new Windows Phone 7 device with no contract. What's the catch? I'm glad you asked. This promotion is only available in Microsoft Stores, not available online. It runs through 29 March 2012. This is not a contest. It is open to anyone with the phones mentioned previously. It excludes discontinued WP7 devices and the Lumia 800.
A simple way to profit from the deal is to bring in any cheap smartphone you have lying around. It MUST be a smartphone. Feature phones are excluded. Activate the device for service. It can be any cheap prepaid service for this. Not all stores check for this, but better safe than sorry. CDMA users can check out Page Plus for cheap activations. GSM users can check out T-Mobile prepaid plans. There is a nice $2/day all you can eat data plan with the magenta carrier as well.
Once you get that done, go into any Microsoft Store, and tell an employee that you want to take the "Windows Phone Challenge." After that, just loose the contest. It couldn't be simpler. Fill out the device recycling paperwork, and hand over your crappy phone. Pick a new Windows Phone 7 device.
Please format and wipe the data clean from your device before handing it over.
The device or carrier service you have does not affect which device you walk out with. You are free to choose any Windows Phone 7 device you want.
Phones available for selection:
AT&T
HTC Titan (MSRP $549)
Samsung Focus S (MSRP $549)
T-Mobile
HTC Radar (MSRP $399)

*PLEASE NOTE THESE STORES ARE LISTED AS "COMING SOON"
One last thing to note is that the phone you want might be out of stock, as this is a huge promotion. In that case, the store would decide what to do on its own. Some of them seem to be taking orders on the phones people want to own. Some of those stores are also issuing $10 gift cards as an apology for being out of stock. Some other stores are simply telling customers to choose from the stock on hand. For stores that are ordering devices, the estimated delivery time is ten days. You must go back to the store to pick it up. They do not ship directly to your house.
Now I wish I had a MS store. Thanks for the heads up!
I might do this I have a acouple old Android
Edit: has anyone tried it?

The terms are clearly listed in the OP. Shipping a phone to someone won't work since you only have two more days for this.

They have to document the recycling program for your old phone.
This was on slickdeals and has received quite a few hits. I've read from some posting that some people were lining up at the stores. If you are close to a store check to see if they have all the phones available. I've also heard that the TItan and Radar were gone at most locations.

I don't have one ):<
Anyone that does this, I am interested in trading/paying. I have a Zune HD, but a feel a windows phone would make a better mp3 player (idc what carrier, but would prefer gsm so I could possibly use it as a phone.)
This is craziness, I'm going to try this at the Houston store today

Ah man, I just loaned my Palm Pixi Plus to my mom while she's traveling overseas.
Hi fellow Americans,
I have a layover of 10 hours at LAX, can I buy Nexus 10 somewhere around?
I would like to pay in cash and not to order in advance something like "store delivery" as I understood it needs to be paid at the time of order. I have exchanged the dollars when the exchange rate was favourable, that's why I would like to pay cash.
Thanks for tips!
If you have 10 hrs, you will easily find it. Start at Staples.com put in LA zip code and search within 50 miles. You should find store that has one in stock. They only have 32 GB versions.
I don't know if this link would work for you: http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesStoreInventory?URL=&errorUrl=&partNumber=&catentryId=599656&skuPrice=%24499.00&storeClicked=&qtyAvail=&address1=&city=&state=&zipCode=90045&distance=50 but it's 50 miles radius store availability of Nexus 10 32GB from 90045 (this should be LAX) at Staples. Unfortunately it looks like all listed shops say "Not sold at this location"
Try WalMart. As of a few minutes ago the show them at one store in the general area but only one. Its West Hills which is a bit of a drive but check when you get there.
I'm in Chicago and many WalMarts have them but no Staples.

I live in Burbank, Ca. On the outskirts of LA (about 25 minutes from LAX). Nothing real close to LAX that I can think of... Never seen staples carry the N10 anywhere close to here and are always "sold out" of the N7.
Best bet if I needed to get one real quick would be Walmart. Only people I have heard that carry it locally. Mission Hills or maybe even Van Nuys. Probably 20-30 min cab ride from LAX. If you have a 10 hour layover, might be something to do. Check and see if there is one closer to LAX... I'm sure there is, they're everywhere. Call ahead and check with the electronics department to make sure they have them available
You can check Walmart store inventory online so no need to call but if you find 1 you may want to call and ask them to hold it.
