Anyone waiting in line at a Sprint store? Which one?

Since I'm assuming it's too late to preorder an EVO at BB or RS and still get it on release day, how many of you will be waiting in line at a Sprint store to get one?
What store will you be at and how early will you get there?
I'll be at the Sprint store in Tucson, AZ probably about 6AM or so, sound good?

I pre-ordered here in Dallas, TX and the RS store manager said they would be open at 6am and i could get my phones then. just FYI. good luck!!

I've got a couple of friends that are going to the local Sprint store at about 5am, unless I get a call from RS on Thursday. They told me that if they get any extras over the ones that have been pre-ordered, they would call me. I have an idea of the amount of Evo's the Sprint store is getting and I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot of people there early.

No need to go early to stand in line sprint stores are getting a lot of evos

Going to my local Radio Shack at 3am to wait. They open at 6am and I hear they will only have a few non-preorder phones for each store. I figure 3am will get me in the front of the line. I'm in Brooklyn.

i dunno how practical it would be, but it would be fun to see a "waiting in line picture thread" and just have everyone post up pics of themselves, their gear, or their watches

Be careful you don't get jumped. "BK ain't no joke". I always see stories about people getting jumped when they picked up their Nintendos, Playstations, etc.

It might not be to late to preorder depending on your locations. I'm in Birmingham, AL and I couldn't find a place to preorder but my fiancee is in Ames,IA and their Sprint store had one preoder spot left, and Best Buy wouldn't let her do it over the phone but she is one her way there now to try to secure our phones for friday.

lol, i don't know how many people are hot to trot to steal a traceable phone though
i just called my local sprint store. they're opening at 8am friday. i'm considering it. they're going to have 23 of these bad boys just on display. apparently there are going to be quite a few businesses
down there that are thinking about picking them up. like freaking H&R block is going to be there. lord.

I pre-ordered my from Best Buy in West LA over 3 weeks ago. They called me and set up an appointment on Friday to pick it up, which is I think is great... I hate lines... I do assigned seating for movies too. Anyway, they told me that if you don't have a pre-order you ain't getting a phone on Friday.

I live in Midwood Brooklyn which is mostly upper middle class, really no crime around here to speak of. But of course I will be watching my back. As they say, crime can happen anywhere.

I called every radio shack and Beast Buy in the city, everyone is completely sold out and have been for a week. I even got laughed at a few times for even asking such a "ridiculous question" as they put it. My only hope is to stand in line. A Sprint Store is not an option for me since I don't do rebates after getting burned so many times.
Seems Best Buy here wont even have units for sale on launch day, the radio shack near my house said they would have a few, whatever that means. So I have no choice but to camp out and hope for the best.

I was able to pre-order ours today from evpdiscount.com, she said they had only placed 400 preorders total for the evo and ours should ship friday. If you get a company discount..ie. chase, ups, credit union....order from evpdiscount.com, they give you a 125.00 dollar rebate. So 174.99 for the phone is a nice perk.
Funny, turned out our 1st pre-order was canceled since I never got back to them with payment info, I completely forgot to call them back. Oh well. They are preordered now.

the best buy here in RENO, NV opens at 10am.. so im gonna be there at 10am..... LAFF.. Shoulda pre-ordered.

I'll be showing up at my local sprint store in New Bedford Mass at around 5:30-6. They open at 8. The manager told me today that they would be receiving Evos every day including Sunday for a little while. I'm not worried though don't think there's too many people in this area that will wait in line. He told me for the Pre there was a little line but only cuz it was by invitation. And worse comes to worse ill drive to Mexico if I have to to get one Friday,lol.

oh yea! i will be there bright n early either at radio shack or sprint store. probably at radio shack since its $200 there vs $300 at the sprint store... coming from an at&t tilt, i'm doing the 30 day gurantee to ensure i get service.

you guys r lucky, all these radio shacks and sprint stores where i live if full of lazy novice people. they dont even know half of the evo features yet alone any smartphone.
so with that being said. if my sprint store or radio shack even got 200 pre-orders they would still open at they normal hours 8am or 9am. even if sprint gave them a letter or email to open the stores at 6am for pre-orders only they wouldn't do it because they 2 lazy

I pre-ordered mine for bestbuy so i'll be going there. There better honor the fact I'm number 11 on list so no excuses when I come through with my cash in hand.

Best Buy. 8AM. I am #2 on my Best Buy's reserve list. Plus no rebate is the best.
EDIT: Just thought about it, but it seems kinda cool that an Android device actually has a good amount of hype behind it. That alone will make it an iContender.

I just got the call from The Shack. They are opening at 6am but expect a rush from those who didn't preorder. I'll be there just before 7am to pick my pre-ordered EVO.

RadioShack in the Woodbridge Mall in NJ.
They don't open until 10am so i made my appointment for first thing when they open.

Getting mine at the Sprint store in Houston, also. Specifically, Westheimer and Shepherd.

Just pre ordered mine today... or at least tried to after seeing so many people here doing so.
they said no more pre orders so i got on the waiting list
waiting list was good! they called me to come in at 730 AM at the Radio Shack.
lady there said it was gonna be $250 for the upgrade. Nice.

Just called the best buy and picking up at 9:30 am surprised cuz I was number 25 on the lisar thought I was fin b one of the last ones....

what store did you get it from?

Radio Shack on cactus and tatum.. I preorded and when I was there this morning they had one left, but I am sure it is gone now....

Picked up mine yesterday from the Metro Center Parkway Sprint Store.

Got mine at Best Buy at Tempe Marketplace, 3g speeds are nothing to brag about, wifi is wicked fast. Hope we don't have to wait too long for 4g. Even got a bluetooth headset free from BB, used it to make a call earlier. Now I too can look like I've been assimilated. :lol:

I am in Gilbert and planning to get two : one each for me and my wife. My employer has a decent corporate discount: 125$ each for the phones and 117$ per month for the Everything Data 1500 family plan.

Chandler here: have to wait till 7/1/10 to get one, but going to BB.

BTW, the EVO was only 182 out the door at SAMS CLUB.

No, it's £549 there.

No, it's in that horrible Westfield Stratford shopping centre. You'd have to pay me to set foot in there again. It was bad enough when I went daytime weekday, I'd hate to think what it's like in the evening as collection of the pre-ordered S3s is from 6pm,

They actually told me it was £549 aswell. I called them up a day later and then they said £499. So I went and made my order.

Yesterday I saw some big Samsung stands being set up in White City Westfields. I didn't really stop to look, maybe this is the same thing?

Stratford isn't a city it's an area in East London i used to live there
To hell with paying extra money just to get it a day early, in fact to hell paying £499 when you can get it on Amazon.de for €588 and save money

Neither is White City. It's just a name given to the areas.

I live near stratford i am 15 mins walk away or a 2 min drive lol.. But i already pre ordered from p4u so i will wait..

For 25GBPextra , i went for amazon.uk since i have nothing but good feedback from them and in case of a replacement, they send you the phone the next day and except you to send the other one back at their cost.
I wouldnt want to get into communication difficulties with german amazon in case there is a problem just so i can save 15 quid.

If you have a card that gives you the bank exchange rate it's a good deal, otherwise you need to add about 3% to that price. As of today, with shipping to the UK it's €592.74 so £479.
In my experience, they ship from the UK in a lot of cases, and arrive next day. You will get a Euro power adaptor though...

Your highly unlikely to get that exchange rate unless you are changing over a grand, trust me from someone who travels between Ireland and the UK every few weeks the exchange rate has gone down on the euro side, you will now only get 78p for every Euro unless you are changing thousands then you can go to a broker and get a better rate.
Amazon.de only charge €7 delivery to Ireland so that is €595 in total, £499 on Amazon.co.uk comes to about €630 or hereabouts so saving in excess of €35

ah right i know white city alright next to QPR's ground, but i never knew Strartford as Stratford "city" mind you it's a long time since i lived there

Stratford is still old plain Stratford. Stratford City is the name of the redevelopment project for part of the area, (Westfield being the main developer ) Someone must have thought "Stratford City" would sound better or something... Incidentally, the shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush/White City is called "Westfield London"

Want to check out this phone in person.

None of the stores I've been to have one in stock OR for demo. Here in Schaumburg, IL (suburb of Chicago), no carriers in the Woodfield mall had it, in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, none of the T-Mobile shops have, ... Walmart, Best Buy, etc.
Everyone is saying it isn't even released, and the date they tell me varies from 26-28 of June.

My sister lives in Schaumburg. I always take my kids to Lego Land anytime we are up to see her.

Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills area stores are saying 28th like everywhere else.

All these "negatives" from the Chicagoland area peeps are getting me worried. Well, here's to (at latest) the 28th... Will wait until then to freak.

Bought two blue phones from the Gurnee Best Buy today. No pre-order. They have one more but it's a pre-ordered phone. I might be returning the second one to the Vernon Hills store.

T-mobile has it on display. Dont know if all tmos have it thou. Call in!
