So, I'm a bit new around here and to rooting and flashing roms. I recently have been flashing rooms directly from rom manager. Everything was fine for weeks until I recentely tried flashing a rom by RVU. Now I'm stuck in the stock evo 4 g load screen and it keeps loading over and over. Any suggestions ? Is there away back into the boot loader ?

To get back to the bootloader, you'd need to pull the battery (won't hurt anything) and put it back in. Then hold the power button and volume down. That will get you to the bootloader
What do you mean you tried flashing a rom by RVU? I'm confused. RUU is rom utility update, or rom update utility, or something ike that. But if you ran an RUU it would put you back to completely stock.
If I were you, and in your situation, I'd pull the battery, boot to bootloader, and see if you can still get to your recovery. If you can, I'd try wiping everything then either restoring a nandroid backup if you have one, or a fresh install of a ROM. If you don't have recovery, post back and we'll see what needs to happen to get you back up again.
Well, the rom I flashed was created by team RVU....at least that's what it said. So, I made it as far as recovery. But by wipe you mean a wipe back to stock? I'm in as far as my clockwork mod recovery screen. Kinda lost now !!

Okay I gotchya now, although I don't think I've been informed of RVU before, I'll have to check it out. Anyways, thats good that you can still get to recovery. So you have never used it before? Just did everything from ROM manager before huh? I'm not familiar with clockwork recovery, as I use Amon, I'm trying to remember the little differences. First, you don't have any nandroid backups do you? Prob not if you're not familiar with clockwork and had never created a nandroid backup before! I'm not sure if backups made with ROM manager can be restored using CWM, doubtful though. So by wipe, I mean wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe davlik cache. You will need to have a ROM on your sd card, so that you can install it from recovery. In order to wipe the dalvik cache using clockwork, i believe it is under the advanced section. Not sure though. Once you have everything wiped, and the ROM of your choice on the main directory of your sd card, choose 'flash zip from sd card' or 'install zip from sd card" or something to that nature, then find the ROM and flash it. If all goes well, you should be able to boot up after that. If you do indeed happen to have a nandroid backup, choose to restore that.
Yup, everything I've done has been through rom manager. Anywho, I peeked around inside some files. Inside my install zip from sd. I found a file labeled nandroid. Could that be the backup that your referring too ? If so, would i still have to wipe my phone ?

Nandroid folder is for amon RA backups. Clockwork backups are in the clockwork/backup folder.
Have you backed up your previous install? If so wipe all factory reset then restore a backup. Otherwise wipe all and flash a new rom.
This is why you do research and learn how to properly use your phone and any custom recovery before you reach this step. This is why manufacturers have crappy warranty policies because people ruin their phones by being stupid.

Thank for lending a hand. Instead of trial and error, I simply started a thread. Oh, and thanks for reminding me I'm stupid!!!
I had an earlier version of cyanogenmod installed, I went into rom manager and pressed update (or something like that). It did the whole installation thing but now it's just hanging at the cyanogenmod splash screen.
What do?

Have you tried to boot into recovery ? (turning it on by pressing the power button and the - volume button)
Did you backup? Always, always backup.
If not try downloading the ROM and flashing that, don't wipe just yet, if that fails you will probably need to wipe and flash again.
ok so i did a recovery of the backup i did just before trying to install cyanogen 7
FFUUUUU.... now everything is pretty much lost! even the old cyanogen is gone. What can I do?!
Was your old backup from a pre 2.3 ROM?
^^ how can i tell?
sorry for being a noob
What was the ROM you backed up before flashing CM7?
the backup i did just before trying to install cyanogen 7

it was cyanogenmod 6.1.3
Ok, your problem now is that the file system changed from 2.2 (Froyo) to 2.3 (Gingerbread) and you will need to flash a new version of ClockworkMod Recovery to restore that backup.
Do you have ENG S-OFF? You will be able to flash it via fastboot, if not you will have to start again from CM7 and downgrade ClockworkMod Recovery from there, then restore your backup.
I flashed the latest ClockworkMod Recovery (3.0.0.6) - I think before I tried to install CM7.
Restoring the backup means almost everything is gone, apps, settings, etc (but not everything). Did I **** it up? Will I have to redo everything?
If I have to do that anyway I might as well use CM7, but installing that means the splash screen hangs (I had the same problem with CM6, I dont remember how I fixed it)
Your right, to flash CM7 you needed CWM 3.x.x.x
Restoring that backup 6.1.3 will take you back to pre-CM7 so yes everything will be gone.
Have you tried just flashing CM7 again?
ok, trying to install cm7 again...
Don't wipe just yet, if it still hangs after flashing again you will then have to wipe.
****, it's hanging at the CM7 splash screen again
Ok, you will need to perform a wipe.
In CWM you have "mounts & storage"
Format boot & system, then flash CM7 again, (btw which CM7 ROM are you flashing?)
I did that (through the recovery or w/e) and then it was hanging at the HTC logo....
I had to restore the backup once again and am back where I was before
What can I do?
btw it's CM 7.0.0-RC2
Ok sounds like a full wipe is needed.
Again in CWM "mounts and storage" format everything except scdard, then back out and go into "advanced" and wipe dalvik cache.
Flash CM7 again, it should work now.
can i flash CM7 through the recovery console? because if i wipe everything then obviously i cant boot back into it?
Don't worry you can't wipe recovery from within recovery, so after a full wipe it will still be available.
before I do that, how exactly do i install CM 7 from recovery console? I think it was downloaded to my SD card but I dont see a straight forward option in the recovery console
i was running ice glaicer and wanted to try a new rom so i booted into recovery mode with clockwork, wipe data, wiped partion and then flashed the new rom. Everything went fine but now the phone won't boot, it just hangs at the white t-mobile mytouch 4g

Make sure you have clockwork recovery 3.0.0.6 when flashing your phone. It says 3.0.0.5 in rom manger but it really not. Pull the battery. Then when the phone is off. Hold down the volume down button and press the power button. It should boot up in the bootloader. Then go to recovery. Once your in recovery makes sure it says 3.0.0.6 at the bottom or top. Then check In the thread the rom you downloaded if you needs recovery 3.0.0.6 or not. Make sure the rom is completely downloaded same MB same md5 sums. If its not go to your phone and go to mount/storage mount the SD card remove the bad download by deleting it and drag and drop the newly downloaded rom. Ummount the sdcard then wipe data/ factory reset on your phone. Then in mount/storage mount/data, mount/cache, mount/ system. Format them each and then format boot. After go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. After go to the rom you want to install and install it. Let it finish reboot system. Let the rom boot wait 5 minutes then you should be good to go.

There are a few users having problems flashing the recent CM7 nightlies. Here is my scenario.
I'm running CM7.0.2 from EMMC. Last night I tried to flash N63. Downloaded the zip from here...http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=encore (where I always get them from). Rebooted to recovery, wiped cache and dalvik and installed the zip. Clicked reboot & got stuck at "ANDROID_". I did a hard reboot (holding down power). Booted back to recovery and did a full wipe (system, data, cache, and dalvik)...Installed the zip again, rebooted and same results. I tried re-downloading the mirror and I've tried installing it with my recovery sd. Everything yields the same results......"ANDROID_".
I can reboot to recovery, and load my nandroids (7.0.0, 7.0.2, Nookiecomb, and Phiremod), however I cannot get one of the new nightlies to flash. I have seen other people are having similar issues so I've started this thread in the hopes of resolving this. I have been working on this problem and searching XDA / Google and still no luck.

Ok, not a very experienced dev or anything that here. And I have not experienced this problem myself, but a few ideas to throw out:
- Are you trying to install an OC kernel after nightly, or not b4 getting stuck?
- Maybe restore 7.0.x reboot, make sure it comes back. Back into recovery, flash nightly with just a cache wipe, see if it comes up.

No OC kernel....Just trying to get the nightly to run before worrying about that. I can nanadroid back to any of my former roms with no problem. I'm going to try just doing a ONLY a cache wipe and load it again......just as soon as I run out of patience with my black "ANDROID_" screen of frustration, I'm currently looking at for the last 7 minutes.

Yeah........It's a no go. Nand back to 7.0.2, reboot to recovery, wipe cache only, instal zip for Nightly 63......."ANDROID_".....DAMMIT!!!!
I'm back to 7.0.2 again until someone has something else I can try.
Are you using cwm recovery 3.0.2.8?
Could be an issue if not.

Just another quick note.....To anyone having problems overclocking the new nightly builds. You need to use the ext. 4 overclock kernel, which can be downloaded here......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925451&page=239

Is there a way to update CWM without burning a new image to SD card? I currently have 3.0.1.0 as well and I don't want to wipe my rom or SD card just to update to 3.0.2.8 but I can't seem to find any other way to do that.
Sorry but this is my first Andriod device so bit of a noob here.

I was going to say ROM Manager, but forgot it doesn't have 3.0.2.8 for Nook.
Here is the recovery zip file, flash from CWR. http://db.tt/gDlb5mw
- download to your SD card for Nook, boot into CWR, choose install zip from SD/choose zip, flash, reboot recovery
I got a message from rom manager saying a new update is available, so I select to clear dalvik cache and back up rom and let it start. I go to check my machine a few hours later and the screen is green. I tried to boot into clockworkmod but it says it has no backups, what else can I do?

You can always start over...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699
7.1 rc1 requires that you have the latest version of cwm. If you do not, then you encounter exactly what you have described. All is not lost! If you selected "backup rom" before you began, then boot back into cwm, restore your old rom, then update to the latest cwm (3.0.2.8, I believe) then update to rc1. If you do not have a backup then you will have to start over again but you will probably make backups in the future.

You should have a bootable CWM sdcard for occasions like this.
Unless you have a nandroid I don't believe you can roll back to an earlier version...
Unzip this attached file and put the folder contents in the root of your CWM sdcard, re-wipe and then flash latest CM7.
