Noticed on Vodafone DE's website they have an updated firmware download

This is for version 1.20.162.3
I notice that my device is running 1.20.161.5
Other than (I assume) providing German language support, anyone else know what is this firmware update is worth using for a UK device ?

LAM R1 was one of the latest R1 releases, less busgs than UK or NAM
I guess we will see an update in the next days
But to be honest, I stuck to UK R2A ROM because of language compatibility issues with certain WWE-only programs, apps, skins, etc

I flash and i must say it is not Generic Latin America R2AA011 (1.03.841.8) as say in pavels topic...
It is Generic Latin America R2AA011 (1.03.947.11)..
It flash ok and run more fast and smoother....radio is 1.11.25.71...
It has also google search and an update for camera it let you choose frames velocity..Fast and slow...
The Media panels updated too..I have to say now the battery does not get hot as is just to be...For me i say...I dont know other users...

i´ve put the Generic Global Rom (Former LAM - 1234-4820)on my x10a to get all the updates from SE (.24 and etc) using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
well, it turned out that since then, my phone is "emergency only" and "no signal" all the time.
now I´m trying to return to Generic BR Rom (the one I was using before) through the same method, but PC Companion just ignores it and re-install the Generic Global Rom
any idea how can I return to the BR Rom or solve this signal problem???

Do you have multi touch in that ROM?

i have rooted the flipout, but i want 2.2 only for APP2SD.!!!!!
comunque il nuovo update non è la 2.2, ma un miglioramento per poter usare + app che usano il 3D (almeno cosi si vocifera su internet).

Motorola distributed some links to access update packages for Flipout, e.g. UK, Italy, Germany on facebook. I tried to update my flipout with original German o2 rom and the update failed. Since then, my flipout won't boot, when I switch the device on, noting happens, only Motorola logo is shown.

But be careful with updating - as I already mentioned, my device won't boot, I'll take it to my local dealer today.
Not so good then D: I'm trying one now, think I have GB retail rom somewhere but no idea on the German one
K... it picked up on it being on the card, rebooted and came the the screen with the exclaimation triangle, from there I could reboot, or hit update.zip and watch a stream of text. Either way phone is fine but no update has happened.

Is it safe to apply the update in the Italian version?
Is there more than one version of this phone in Italy, so the update is onlt for some models?

i have too 1.14.2.MB511.Retail.en.CEE version and i try update this on a UKpack but it not run, i have unroot phone... and my layout on keyboard is qwerty...
maybe I am doing it wrong but i do it that like on motorola site instruction is it, step by step... :/

I have just bought an Omnia 7 on T-mobile UK (unlocked with an code) and flashed it to the UK retail rom (PDA, EBOOT, CSC, PHONE)
The problem was/is with the stock rom i only can make calls and can not send text messages .
So i flashed the Omnia 7 back to an T-Mobile rom (Firmware XXJJ6 ALL PROVIDERS) (PDA, EBOOT, CSC, PHONE)
Now the problem is most times i can not make calls or send text messages (even the phone shows an good signal) and some times the phone freezes.
I'm new to windows phone 7 flashing and thought maybe because i flashed my phone from an JJ4 rom to JJ6 an rom can cause problems?
Any ideas how to make the Omnia 7 running as it should be?

Flash KC1 with CSC from UK retail ROM, it should work (if not, you can always flash something else).
Samsung Omnia 7 Firmware XXJL3 RETAIL UNITED KINGDOM is a better bet

The phone shows after 1 minute no service and emergency calls.
I'm living in the Netherlands and i'm on the dutch T-Mobile network.
Maybe thats something that can cause problems?
Maybe it is problem with SIM card. Try using another SIM card for a while.
I'm a bit late with my reply, but it seems the problem solved.
I dont know exactly what solved the problem but i did both things you said, but with a dutch retail csc.
I flashed the Omnia with the Dutch CSC signed_CSC_Cetus_Europe_I8700XENJK1.csc and the Phone, Eboot, and PDA from I8700XXKC1_XXKB2 and replaced the simcard with a new one.
