MIUI.us Kindle Fire rom error - Kindle Fire General

Hi I wanna go from stock image to MIUI.us Kindle Fire rom Updated 1.12.29. After preforming the normal steps to wipe system, cache and so forth. I go in and attempt to install this zip. I get an error something like F:/extra i think cannot be found. Then it attempts to install and fails.
It does install however i keep on getting android crash error on the launcher. Am i doing something wrong? How can i fix that install error? Thanks

factory reset and wipe data.

How Do I Flash CM7?

I've never done this and couldn't find anything up to date online :/ I'm rooted and adb is working - I just need to know where to put the contents of update-wipeall.zip: 'META-INF' 'system' and 'boot.img' - also, I'm pretty sure I use TWRP to flash ROMs, please include how to open it in your answer
Thanks - you guys are so helpful!
This was 2 posts below yours are you blind?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410766
Thanks!! No lol im not blind I just didn't know that would tell me how to install cm7 by the title.
Edit: Those instructions only tell me to copy the update.zip to sd card - what do I do with the 2 folders that came with the latest cm7?
Sent from my Kindle Fire using XDA Premium App
You have to flash Fire Fire Fire and TWRP. The easiest way to install is using Kindle Fire Utility from developtment section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
When you flashed it you see a yellow tiangle when you boot your Kindle Fire. Press the Power button until Power LED turns orange. Now the Kindle Fire boots into TWRP and you can flash CM7.
I used kindle fire utility to install twrp already - I think it installed FireFireFire too since I've seen the yellow triangle screen already.. if I'm wrong let me know. If I'm right - how do I get back to the FireFireFire screen to do it?

Fire Fire Fire is a bootloader you can "see" it everytime you boot your Kindle Fire.
Ok I just rebooted my kf and I do have FireFireFire installed - i know update.zip goes in sdcard but what do I do with the two folders that came with cm7

may i ask did you install fire fire and twrp since on a kindle you rooted with burrito root?

what folders?
you don't extract update-wipeall.zip at all, leave it as it is, just copy it in your sdcard.
When KF boots up keep power button pressed till TWRP shows up. Perform a backup if you want, so you can revert to Stock. Otherwise click Install and locate update-wipeall.zip on your sdcard, click it and then click Flash.
Don't worry about those errors, just click Reboot system when everything finishes.
Don't keep the power button pressed, let it boot by itself.
Enjoy CM7!
I used kindle fire utility .9 to permanent root (which installed burritoroot) then used it to install TWRP which I'm guessing installed FireFireFire as well since I see the triangle when I boot. Thanks for the info I didn't know I wasn't supposed to unzip it - I'm about to try now, thanks!

Oh my my my, we have a newbie here. Yikes!!!!!! Read the TUTS. Also if you don't even know not to unzip the rom, you shouldn't being doing this kind of stuff. You might end up making a 200 dollar paper weight.
This is how we learn!

That volume control app is available in the market. Look for "Volume Control" by RubberBigPepper.

[Q] Kindle Stuck at CM7 Logo, won't boot. Help!

After transferring some music files from my sd card to my computer, I "safely ejected" the Kindle Fire and when I rebooted normally (it will go to recovery if I want it to) it gets stuck at the CM7 Logo (Andy just chills there forever on his board...).
As far as I know it's responding to most ADB commands. I have to use ADB to reboot after it gets stuck, but I'm not very fimilar with ADB commands yet. All I know how to do is remount it and reboot it. I didn't make a backup before this happened (doy!) so I don't have a previous state to restore to. I went a head and just made a backup while I was in recovery after it got stuck, and restored to that just to see if it would do anything. Of course, that didn't work. I'm still stuck at the cm7 logo.
I didn't mess with any system files or anything except normal sd card clean up, so I'm not sure why it's getting stuck at Andy. I've read up on boot loops and common ways to fix them but nothing seems to work for me. And it's not exactly stuck in a recovery loop or boot loop anyway, it just plain won't boot. Any ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Do you have any dual boot app installed? As far as I know, you might have deleted some information needed for the app to boot to a different profile.

I'm not sure what that is so I'm thinking no.What is an example of a dual boot app? I'm just hanging out in recovery until I figure out what to do.
I would reccommend redownloading Cyanogenmod 7 and reinstalling...
Flash the same cm7 ROM you had without erasing data,
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using Tapatalk
I have mounted the sdcard again but I can't imagine anything that I removed from the sd card is making it boot stuck. Any other ideas? I guess I could always reinstall cm7. but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Thanks! That fixed it. Do you know what I did to cause that? Or is that just something that happens?
I think that some file either deleted or corrupted.
When you flash, you have the option to maintain your data. Since you are flashing the same ROM, there is no need to erase the data to avoid installation of your apps.

Proceeding at all with 7.4.7 is at own risk. I have a used tablet coming in the mail and will be here Tuesday. I will restore and test out rooting with binary and try some KFFA things with 7.4.7. I won't know anything until late Tuesday evening. Maybe someone will come along with some information before then. If not, I will let you know then.
Edit - Because this is possibly new hardwareI have edit my response to say just don't try it until you here from those who made the scripts give the all clear. I thought this was just an update to the 2012 Kindle Fire HD and the new Kindle Fire HD. This may not be the case. Until it gets sorted out, probably best to wait for the devs to sound off.

How did you tried? Did it root? Did you have a factory cable?
Try this...
Get Bin4ry's root and extract the 'fakebackup.ab'. Get ADB set up and working and enter the following:
Code:
adb restore fakebackup.ab
If the restore screen pops up, where it says "restore my data" at the bottom (don't press on it though), then there's a good chance they didn't patch the exploit. If the ADB restore hasn't been disabled, I would say go ahead and try to root it. It probably wouldn't hurt to make sure the factory cable still works though.
Confirmed as working

I Have successfully rooted my kindle fire HD 7 - 7.4.7
With the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31
1) WHILE KINDLE IS UNPLUGGED Uninstall all kindle Drivers:
Download The adb drivers from the post
2) Go to settings on Kindle Enable ADB
3) Plug kindle in,
When the device is recognized you can now root.
4) Open the tool, Select option one, and read the instructions on the tool.
Enjoy!

You can try again. One will install some launchers with it too. Be careful though. Using this tool on the 4th generations is not widely tested. Not that I know of anyway.

Hi, My kindle is not the newest one, so I assume it's normal Kindle fire HD 7'', I tried to run it another few times with different setups on my pc etc. same error every time. It's weird that it says it's rooted but I can't get most of the thing working, perhaps I should try to put in recovery, alt boot loader and install some different rom. But because I'm not confident about my root I rather use amazon-handicapped device than get a brick.
I would not proceed until your root is working properly. Sometimes the rooting process has to be repeated. You will want to get a fastboot cord just in case if you try to install ROM.
Just the other day I had to run root and restore 4 times before it took. Ended up I got the one that installs Apex launchers as well and just installed that afterward.

You need a factory fastboot cord first. Use this tutorial to get TWRP/2nd bootloader installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128848

Hi, to install 2nd bootloader and twrp and then cm11 factory cable isn't needed. Kffa want downloading files to downgrade to7.2.3 so I got it manually inhaled then twrp and cm11 no problem. But then cm11 started crashing so I rebooted kindle butit dinner start, in twrp it reported that storage can't be mounted, I have pushed Rom using adb but it wouldn't install due to storage issue soI used that tool to recover kindle but after successful installation I got into a reboot loop. Factory reset cable is already ordered. After cm 11 issues I don't know if I'll try it again.

[Q][HELP] Cannot start after switching to ART (stock ROM)

I have stock ROM, not unlocked, not rooted.
Have just OTA updated to Android 4.4. It was successful.
After that I tried to switch runtime to ART. The first reboot was successful. But runtime is still Dalvik. So I tried to switch to ART again.
Now it cannot bootup. It stucked with the four-color-circle.
I tried fastboot mode. But still cannot start.
Is it totally bricked? What can I do next? I think I haven't enabled USB debugging...
You can get into the stock recovery and try clearing cache or if that fails then try factory reset.

Factory reset will wipe all your data, wipe cache will clear the apps cache so hopefully it will it fix it. Instruction to get into recovery here.

I go to the recovery mode, it says "No command".
With stock recovery once you see the android with the red exclamation you need to press power and volume up at the same time to see the commands. It's a little tricky and it might take a few tries but it does work

That message of 'install failed' is stock recovery. Try doing the 8 failed boot reset. Interrupt the boot 8 times in a row by powering off before the cyanoboot logo finishes. Then on the 9th try, let it finish.
