So I've done the regedit deletion for the gsensor.dll but still encountering random freezes. They last about a minute and aren't breaking where I have to reboot but still annoying. Using a froyosense build.
I am using my stock class 2 SD card. I remember reading a few threads that the class 2 would cause freezing on games, even the game demos that came with the hd2.
Will moving to class 6 help the freezing? Any thoughts?
edit: Solved my own issue. Using G sensor lite or changing the g sensor in kernel to off will stop freezing. Class 2 card runs perfectly. Probably a class 6 would improve video/music but thats true of winmo also. Maybe if someone finds my post with the same question this will help.
no i bought a class 6 8 gig , and the only difference i really se is booting android faster and maybe a little better game play
Using a class 6 sandisk and stock class 2 card and I can def say there is a big improvement in stability and performance with my class 6 card. But it is only a 4 gig card.:-(
I am trying to use the 16 gig that came with the phone. It has major issues. The 1 gig card I have works well enough, but with some builds, it's not even enough space! This sucks. How can I even tell what class of card I have? I may buy a 2 gig card because I don't load music and stuff.
EDIT: I figured it out. I see this 16g card has the "2" on it for class 2. Lame.
Ok, a bit noobish question, but i have to ask :
Is sd card class important for speed, performace, and everything when running android on hd2 ?
I have SanDisc 8 gb SDHC class 2 ( ) sd card atm.. it bugs sometimes ( slow wake up, etc... slow dls.. ) but i can live with it..
But ive heard that sd card class is playing major role in performance and stability and other stuff..
So im asking you, should i buy class 6 ( hard to find in Belgrade, Serbia) or class 4... Is it going to be better than this with class 2 ?
Thanks in advance ...
Sorry for bothering
I use a class 4 32gb card and it works fine. The 16gb card class 2 my HD2 came with also worked fine.
I honestly do not see any difference between using my Class 2 16gb, my class 4 8gb or my class 6 8gb...when it comes to wake up times and system speed...the differences are mearly milliseconds
Where I do see is difference is when adding media to the SDcard (music and movies)...Files that take 3-4 minutes to load on my class 6 can often times take 15 minutes or longer to load onto my class 2.
...my primary card I use is my class 2 16gb and it does not bother me one bit.

theres not much difference, the only difference ive noticed between my class 4 8gb and class 6 8gb is boot up times are a bit more faster with the class 6,thats about it really
I have 4GB sandisk class 2 and everything works fast and great. with MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.3_MDJ_S7.5HD.
Pozdrav iz rajvosa.
Do class 10 sdcards is better than class 2 sdcards for running wm7 on hd2?
It would be interesting to know what the fast card is or if there is ant difference, my 4GB class 4, can become laggy at times.
In my experience with 4 different MicroSD cards class does not matter at least with Android. More accuratly Class is not a good indicator of how well the card performs he way it is used in the phone. My worst performing MicroSD card is a class 4 PNY. My best performing card is the 16gb class 2 that came with the phone. I have another Class 6 and Class 2 that are somewhere in the middle. This is based upon my own personal testing using load times of various android builds. My Class 4 is almost unusable compared to the other two, it's super laggy when it's accessed.
It's the random access speed that makes a difference in wp7... and class has nothing to do with that. Actually I read that higher class cards can have worse random access speed because the card makers use special tweaks to get high write speeds which cause random access to lower. You will probably definitely have better luck with name brand. Most sandisk class 2 seem to work well.
It's the same with running android from sd, I think. The random access time would be the most important when accessing many small bits of info from different parts of the card like running as os would do. Thats probably why people always had better luck running android from lower class cards. Some benchmarking apps can get a cards random access speed.
following this thread,,im using the 16gb class2 card.. wp7 is laggy and annoying..
other than that,,its good
My phone is running fine with 16GB class 2 sdcard except some random reboots. Yesterday, it happened 3-4 times, today not at all
A quick flick to scroll seems to be impossible. Does anyone know the registry tweak that edits the initial scroll lag? Thanks!
Searched but I cant find it?
Does no one know? Everyone is looking but no answers. lol.

um yes, thanks but no thanks. I have a compatible sd card. if it isn't i wouldnt be able to use wp7.
my card works and has always worked. even with android i had no problem.
So you're telling me you have super fast flick-ing action? I highly doubt it.
Anyone else with a better suggestion?
Yeah, I have one - change your SD card.
I have great scrolling, no lag at all. The SD card makes a huge difference. When I was using a class 4 kingston, wp7 was laggy and didn't run that well... it still ran and used the card, though. But now using a class 2 sandisk, wp7 runs as smooth as butter... no lag and battery life is much improved. What kind of card do you have? Cards with good random access speed is what you want for wp7... usually lower class cards have better random access speed than higher class cards. Class 2 sandisk seem to work consistently well, but I guess some people have had issues. But even cards that are same class and same brand, but have different manufacturing numbers or serial numbers will be very different performance wise.
i have a sandisk 8GB class 4. it has never had any problem.
are you guys telling me that by downgrading to a class 2, i may have a faster WP7 OS?
that is ridiculous!
can anyone confirm this?
I'm still using Class 4
I will backup my data and test this tomorrow.

You might... it really depends on the sd card. Sandisk class 2 cards made at one time can be very different than sandisk class 2 cards made 6 months later. Same with class 4 or with any sd card out there. When it comes to the random access speed, it can vary greatly... manufacturers don't test this speed and don't aim to make consistent scores of that. But usually the tricks that manufacturers do to get better sequential write scores on their chips end up hurting the random access speeds. That's why more class 2 cards are compatible and work better with wp7 than class 4, 6 and 10 cards. And if you are having lag, then that means you can definitely do better, because I have no lag at all at this point... maybe every once in a while I'll get a little lag here or there, but overall, it's VERY smooth. I haven't installed my apps yet... only like 10 or so apps from the market, and only copied one music album over so far, so maybe I'll get more lag when more is installed... not sure. I have 21gb partitioned over for wp7 on my sandisk class 2 32gb card. When I was using a kingston class 4, I definitely had a lot of lags and I hadn't even installed anything at that point. But I have heard that sandisk class 4 works good, too, but, like I said, when and what factory the chips were produced in can make a big difference with the random access speed which is what wp7 needs to be smooth.

please let me know thanks =D
Lag ???? WP7 is smooth as butter, this is why I'm still using WP7 over LAGGY Android.
ps: I'm using Sandisk 2gig class 2
It's all to do with your micro SD card, my old Samsung 8gb card, ran ok, but would somtimes lag, not load marketplace, things would crash and the occassional autoreboot as well, so I ordered one of the Microsoft recommended sandisk 8 GB ultra microsd cards, not a single lag, no crashes, things run so smooth and fast its really quiet amazing. How ever many times and different ways you format your card if its not the right one it will never run wp7 smoothly
Have a Sandisk 16GB Class 2. in Marketplace lags, slow download, slow load pictures
I have downloaded `` Xbox Live Extras `` in Market, took 10 minutes to install, download deducted

Could be a fake one? Whats the model number?
I have the 8gb and 16gb ones recommended for WP7 by sandisk and they work perfectly without any lag.

Fake, no why? I bought it yesterday in the mobile phone shop. The dealer said it was the new version. The old cards would have to send them back. Really no Joke

You should take the class 2 sandisk back and order a class 2 sandisk from somewhere else... most class 2 sandisks work great with wp7. But like I said in several other posts, just because the brand and class are the same, doesn't mean the card will perform the same. They don't test the random access speed on cards so it's not consistent on cards, and it's random access speed that matters with wp7. I was just testing my cards today... I have one class 2 16gb sandisk with great random access speed and works great in wp7, and I have another class 2 sandisk that has bad random access speed and makes wp7 laggy. The read and write speeds were the same on the cards, though. My class 2 32gb sandisk has good random access speed, and my class 4 32gb sandisk I just got yesterday has even better, but my old class 4 sandisk 4gb card has terrible random access speed. My class 4 32gb kingston and my class 6 8gb kingston both have terrible random access speed as well.
Cards of same class from same manufacturer can have different chips made in different factories depending on when and where they were made. Also, a lot of the time, the chips the they make to have higher sequential read and write speeds will have worse random access speeds, so you will probably have better luck running wp7 with a class 2 than with a class 6 or 10. Microsoft reported this from their testing of memory cards for wp7. This doesn't necessarily mean a class 4 or 6 card won't work just as good or better than some class 2 cards, and it doesn't necessarily mean a class 2 card will work well. The problem is that the random access speed is not rated for cards so it's not kept consistent on cards. But at this time, it seems the class 2 sandisk seem to have the most consistent high random access speeds, but again, doesn't mean all of them will. Like I said, I have a class 2 16gb sandisk that doesn't work well (which is the one I bought retail), but the class 2 16gb sandisk that came with my phone works very well. Also, I just got a new class 4 sandisk 32gb card which I haven't tried for wp7 yet, but from benchmarking the card, it looks like it will work very well. I'm gonna test it with wp7 tonight.
So Ive been using the 16gb Class 2 sd card that came with my HD2 for WP7 and I havent really had any problems with it. Occasionally it reboots for no reason, but aside from that, its perfect. However, my friend just gave me his 4gb Class 4 card. Should I keep using the 16gb or reset my phone with the faster 4gb?
simple test, all sd cards work differently
my Nokia 4GB Class 6 is better than may Sandisk 16GB Class 2
Xbox Live Installation: ( only the installation without download )
Nokia 4GB Class 6: 1:23 minutes
Sandisk 16GB Class 2: 9:41 minutes

Class 2 cards usually work better for wp7. Actually class means nothing when it comes to wp7... you want good random access speed for wp7 to run smooth. Many times, the tricks that manufacturers do to their cards to get higher sequential write speeds will actually reduce the random access speed. They don't keep the random access speed consistent on any of their cards as that speed isn't rated, so even cards of the same brand and class can differ greatly from batch to batch. A card made one day may run wp7 well while the same card made a month later may not. So far it seems class 2 sandisk are the most consistent in keeping good random access speed, so if you are going for a card for wp7, go for class 2 sandisk with model numbers ending in A11M. If you already have a card that works well, no reason to switch unless you want to change the size, because there's no way to guarantee a card will work well until it's tested.
