hy guys
yesterday after uninstalling two games from my note(after a 1\2 an hour) i received a call and i couldn't hear the ringtone(while i could hear the voice in the speaker) i tried also sms, music, games, but nothing...my Samung was mute...i reinstalled kl7 stock rom and after that the previous KKA (the newest rom for italy) but nothing again...
my galaxy note was rooted + CWM and i tried to wipe data cache and so on but nothing again...
now a question,is it possible that uninstalling tho games they deleted something important in the note?
and is it possible that i flashed two new roms, but i flashed them without making a factory reset and i continue to have the error that stopped "singing"my Note?
thank you all for your answers!!!
The ringtone and alarm sounds problem could be because you have set a custom ringtone BUT you forget to set it back after a ROM update/change.
IF you have a custom ringtone it gets "lost" sometimes after firmware change/update so remember/try to set it back and test if it works.
If you only use system ringtone it probably come from antother things but I doubt it come from the uninstallation of an apk.
Godd luck

Before anyone starts flaming me....yes, I have searched and read all the threads.
I've got the popular sound problem when trying to install android.
I have an HTC stock u.k. hd2. (RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe )
I have installed hspl 2.08, mgrldr 1.13 and tried several android roms both from sd and from nand. Each time they work fine.....but every time I have the robot voice and no incoming sound whilst on a call.
I have tried different wm6.5 roms, different radios then android....same result.
The sound on wm6.5 is prefect so I'm ruling out a hardware problem. But what can it be ?
I have tried pressing the speaker button, then end the first call ( as suggested on one thread ). ..same result. I have also tried disabling audible touch tones..
As a last resort I erased everything, reflashed the stock rom, then tried 2 android sd releases.....same result.
I give up, unless someone has a slolution......please !!
obviously you didn't search hard enough.
Please disable "Audible Touch Tones" the moment you install the ROM before your 1st reboot to prevent Robo Voice!
or
Turn on speaker while in call, and then end the call immediately, this should help untill next reboot. You might try with a new radio.
Obviously you didn't read my post very well.
I tried both those fixes, as I said in the post.
They didn't stop the problem........

You're right, I apologize.
Have you cleared the data in the telephone app?
Did you restore your settings through a backup/restore app? That might be the problem.
Apology accepted, and thanks.
I didn't restore any settings. No sure what you mean by clear data in telephone app.
...........................
I have just formated my sd card and downloaded rafdroid sd onto it. Reflashed the stock 6.5 rom, then followed the rafdroid install notes, to the letter...
android worked perfectly...sound o.k. every 15 minutes I rang it to check. Then after about a hour or so, I tried a call to it and NO ring. Checking the phone all sound has stopped...
the only thing I have done in between is download some apps from the market.....
reboot and it's o.k again....but I am sure it will go again....
The phone not ringing also happens with me and a friend of mine.
But is your robovoice over now?
You can try to put your media (ringtone, alarms and notifications) to a map called 'media' (minus the quotes) on the root of your sd card.
i have now installed everything yet again. Put stock rom on from htc site...installed Boyppc ginger 2 V5 rom....and am pleased to report everything has been running perfectly for 2 days !!
I can only assume that there is a problem with some of the roms...maybe with the o2 network....I don't know. I did nothing different this time, but now it works...
I had nearly given up....glad I didn't...this rom is brilliant !!
Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and I'm having a couple problems with it.
First the phone freezes when its turned on it using Official software or a Touchwiz rom but doesn't happen with other Roms so I'm not very bothered about that.
Secondly there is no sound coming from the device, the only sound that comes off is the booting sound when using touchwiz, I've tryed with headphones and still nothing, and If I go to music and try to play a song the phone freezes until I press the home button, It also freezes when dialing or when any other sound should be coming of the device.
I've done a lot of factory resets and tried various roms but the problem stays.
And thirdly I have no signal on the device, when I put the sim card it just says no service, to be fair the sim card is a normal sim that has been cut to fit micro sim slot, becasue its what I use on my other phone and it works, I'll try with an actual micro sim when I have one available.
I don't know it these problems could be linked, that's why I'm putting them together. I have been searching online but I can't find anything similar.
Hope someone here can help me. Thanks a lot in advice!!
Can't get arorund this!
Ok, so I'm now looking at the sound problem now, seems like there is some people having this issue when the phone freezes when the phone should be playing sound.
I've looked at several threats here and for most people flashing I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_I9505XXUDMH8_HOME.tar resolved the problem, so I tried it but still no sound.
So my I9505 is now on XXUDMH8, I rooted it again and installed a custom rom since the original firmware is not working very good.
Hope someone can help me!
Can anyone help?
OK so last night I tried flashing I9505XXUEMI8_I9505OXAEMI8_I9505XXUEMI8 and after I changed the kernel I got some sound when turning the volume up and down but the phone was running very slow.
Today I tried flashing Omega rom v15 flashing the right modem for the new bootloader before flashing the zip and no sound, I tried changing the kernel, still nothing.
So now I'm in build number XXUEMJ9 and baseband MJ5.
Please I've tried everything I can think of and I can't fix this, I need help! :crying:
hi guys, i just ran into a weird situation. After upgrading to kitkat version and using it for a day or two with no problems, I tried to do some tweaking with Wanam xposed tool such as "no camera shutter sound" and other sound related tweaks and unfortunately i forgot to make backup before. After the reboot my phone started freezing and it has no sound at all by which I mean no system ringtones, music app crashes, any thing related to sound whether its an app or a feature it automatically freezes. Also NO PHONE CALLS phone does connect to the network but when i make call through dialer screen goes black and i cant hear any sound what so ever though the other person gets the call. Also i noticed when i open camera app it gives me error "cant open camera".
I did factory reset, re install the ROM but no fix at all ,, Also i used headphones but still no sound... tried google with the similar issues but no luck so far..
is there anyone who has a fix for this problem? it would be highly appreciated. right now my phone is of nooo use

good dont do it again lol
Thank you, now I know I'm not crazy or retarded
I've had the same problem with wanam, and it drove me crazy, and forced me to reflash the rom, the 2nd time it happened I fixed it by removing wanam then going into /system/csc and renaming features.xml to features.xml.bak (not the features.xml in /system, but careful)
sound returned, and I'm now in the process of troubleshooting which option is causing the problem, it will take a lot of rebooting though
further investigation into this helped me detect the culprit : it's the "enable camera during call" under "System" in Wanam
in case you accidently enable this and lose sound, you'll need to remove the checkbox from Wanam, and then edit "others.xml & features.xml" inside "/system/csc" or inside "system" if your rom doesn't contain csc, and remove the following line :
<CscFeature_Camera_EnableCameraDuringCall>true</CscFeature_Camera_EnableCameraDuringCall>
look for duplicates, in my case there were 2 entries for this, once you delete them, reboot your device and you should get the sound back, at least this is what worked for me
p.s : I'm using a Note 2 with the Note 3 features package, so I assume this is related to some Note 3 feature/component not playing well with wanam
So let's start cuz it's a big story. So i have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505, rooted, TRWP Custom Recovery, i had plenty ROM's on him, everytime the ROMS worked perfectly except the bugs they already had....
The last ROM i had was Optimized CM12.1 JDCTeam. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lop/exclusive-antaresone-alucard24-s-t3066696) it worked fine....
One day, they made an update of the ROM. Everything worked fine, until a morning 2-3 days after i made the update.... my alarm clock started ringing (as it was meant to be ) but the screen wasn't turning on.
I restarted the phone...but the alarm was still ringing when the phone restarted then it restarted itself. After this self restart....the phone booted with those optimizations (like the cache was deleted.) After it booted...surprise. No sound. At all. No sound in media player, no sound from calls, no sound when recieveing calls, no sound from my mic too. Then i noticed that movies from Youtube and from my gallery were playing in slowmotion, or not playing at all.
I though it was the ROM ...so i installed other ROMs....no success....all the ROMs i've installed had the same problem. No sounds at all.
Then i found a ROM, that played the Boot animation sound but all the other sounds were still not working. So of course this means it can't be a hardware problem anymore.
So back from the start.
Then i found this ROM, an S6 port : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-s6-port-1-0-t3092479
This ROM specifies that i must install the latest lollipop bootloaders and modems for it to work. So i've installed the modems and the bootloader given in the ROM topic....then the ROM and surprize....the sounds were working again. But the new problem was that the SIM reading stopped working and the rom was unstable. I've tried other modems to no success for the SIM.
Other Lollipop and KK roms, thinking that the bootloader or the modem was the one that fixed the sounds, didn't work so i concluded is not the bootloader. And then i've installed this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-s6-port-1-0-t3092479 which at start it didn't played sounds. Then i've installed the bootloader from Albe95 S6 port post...and surprisingly sounds started to work on this ROM too. But from time to time the sounds dissapear..and i have to wait like some seconds to minutes for them to come back + the SIM still not working on this ROM . So somehow is the bootloader....but i dont get why it's working only on S6 ports..not even on MM ROM's is not working...
Can anyone help me ?
Edit : I forgot to mention that my partitions are F2FS....if this matters....

Thanks for the tip I've edited the post....it is better now ? or should i cut some paragraphs?
No, that's fine. I probably should have PMed that to you rather than post it, but it's a bit too late for that. Sorry.
Anyway, your symptoms, where it occurs erratically, could still be a hardware issue. However, I think it more likely that your internal storage "glitched", and that is causing your problems. Make sure you have a backup of your IMEI and EFS by using Wanam's EFS Backup tool. Then grab an I9505 PIT file, a stock ROM, and Odin. Use them to partition the internal storage (which will format it), and install the stock ROM. See if your sound issues are fixed throughout the ROM. If so, then replace the recovery with TWRP and install the ROM you prefer.
If it still happens even after going through this, then it's almost certainly a hardware issue.

it seems that the problem wasn;t solved...i noticed something else, some roms , especially stock roms when i use the volume buttoms to change the volume....the rom restarts itself ....
I have updated to the latest OxygenOS and I think since then I haven't been able to make a custom ringtone or notification tone stick.
I 1st noticed then when I got a phone call today and it was the stock oneplus tone. Tried to change it but it would still use the same tone.
I tried booting into safe mode but still the same issue.
I select a custom tone, phone rings stock tone and sets it back to stock.
Anyone else with this problem? I don't want to flash back to previous OxygenOS as I will loose my data?
Thanks
