Hspl2:critical error

hey guys trying to flash my first WM(US T-MO HD2) phone but its not working out.i followed every procedure given by MSKIP but i keep getting this message after pressing next on HSPL2_RUN: "CRITICAL ERROR,FLOW:00000003,ERROR CODE:00000004,DESCRIPTION:BAD MODEL ID".i turned off antivirus and restarted my windows 7 then connected my device with WINDOWS MOBILE DEVICE CENTER v.6.1 and then executed the HSPL2_RUN but didnt work out.bootloader screen shows up at the bottom saying usb and the phone didnt brick it just stayed in bootloader till i took the battary out and restarted the phone.what am i doing wrong please correct me.thank u

Use teh link in my sig to get hspl1024 and compare it to the one you have,

I agree sounds like the wrong hspl. When you actually flash it the hspl should be 2.08.0000 not 2.0.0000 as the unlocker provides 2 options.

or did you mean to say "When you actually flash it the hspl should be 2.08.hspl not 2.08.0000 as the unlocker provides 2 options."

I was referring to the actual ruu, when the window displays on your pc it needs to be the 2.08.000 hspl, once the phone is unlocked the spl line will read 2.08.hspl like you stated.

hspl3 is just an updated hspl1024, updated to support more model id's. You can use either. hspl1024 is on page 99 of the HSPL thread, however yes, you can use hspl3 in my sig. choose 2.08.hspl not 2.08.0000(0000 is stock)
When you say so you can switch to android, you dont mean the youtube vid and connected site with the 'android beta OS installer' do you? which says you need hspl 1.42.hspl? cos thats a fake.

I try to flash my EU HTC HD2 with Android Nand rom and i have problem with that so i decide to put everithing on default with stock rom...
I download it and try but all the time error 290, and i read and read and somebody said that i need to have 1.42.HSPL (in that moment mine was 2.08. HSPL) ...so i do that with the HSPL2_Run and all procedure to back my hd2 to STOCK was faild again...
So i decide to turn beck HSPL to 2.08.HSPL and install some CustomRUU but from that point i have the same

DESCRIPTION:BAD MODEL ID....
I use HSPL2_RUN and HSPL4...and it was working...but now just error...What happend? What can i do?

in top right of bootloader i've RUUNBH, and after this there's 8g8g8g8 SS-BC.
Now i've loaded hspl.3.03 but i want to downgrade at hspl2 cause hspl3 is not compatible with my hd2.

Triangle with exclamation mark?

Hi, I just got my HTC HD2 back from repair. Before I sent it, I had a problem reflashing to stock rom before sending it in, and stock HSPL... when I turn the power on, all I get is a white triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle...i thought if i sent it in like that, they would help me restore it but they didn't....how do i get my phone to work again ]:

enter bootloader, flash a compatible stock rom. phone should be fine.
whilst in bootloader take note of what spl says.

Everytime I try to flash a ROM, it gives me the ERROR [294]: INVALID VENDER ID error...
right now my phone is stuck on the bootloader screen...it says
HX-BC
SPL-1.42.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
and if i take out my SD card, when I turn the power on, i get the triangle exclamation mark ]:

I'm not positive which is the stock rom for my phone. It's the HTC Leo HD2 T8585...I remember it being 1.66 but i'm not positive. I downloaded

still the same error :|

The Invalid Vendor ID error means that the rom you are trying to flash is not meant for your phone and the ones you are using are for a different vendor/operator/area than the one who supplied your phone. You either need to find the correct rom or else you need to install HSPL in order to flash any rom you wish.
You current spl is 1.42.0000 so trying to flash roms based on 3.14 will definitely not work as will most of the 1.66 based roms, as unless you use HSPL the rom needs to match the spl version on the device.
Try looking here and concentrate on the 1.48 or 1.43 roms
You can of course also try going to the HTC site for your area, entering your device S/N and try to download the rom for your device.

I just finished downloading and tried

i also went on HTC site..tried 4 different rom updates but when i enter my serial it says "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device" for all of them...
if its any help, it was like this because i remember doing something with using my SD card and taking a file and changing it to LEOIMG.nbh...

forget all that, and forget what i just sent you in PM.
you have spl 1.42.0000, so, get hspl2 (see lilnk in my sig) enter bootloader, run hspl2.exe (right click it, 'run as administrator')
choose, say, 1.66.hspl (it will automatically offer you 1.42.hspl, you can change it in the dropdown, or leave it as 1.42.hspl, it really doesnt matter)
when the phone restarts, quickly press and hold volume down, the phone will re-enter bootlader, flash a rom, any rom, over USB, so long as it isn't a 3.14 rom.

ah crap... I got everything working again after installing HSPL again before you posted...then i flashed a rom...and realized that HTC didn't fix my touchscreen problem so I have to send it in for repair...AGAIN. so I tried to remove HSPL AGAIN so I don't void the warranty...now i'm stuck at almost the same situation except it says SPL 3.03.0000
...and now i get a exclamation mark with a traingle but this time, under it, it says "Software update failed. Please try again."

well, that will be fine for warranty, because its a stock spl.
Basically, it sounds like what you just did was use hspl to flash the 3.14 rom from sd card, cos that lets the flash start, but it applies spl 3.03 which then checks teh rom and finds it doesn't match, and so fails. If hspl wasn''t there, it wouldn't let you get even that far.
So, you have spl 3.03 and no working rom.
You need your actual stock rom, not just 'a' stock rom, (im not scrolling to see if you posted it yet, but if its operator branded, you gotta get the right one) doesn't matter which version, 1.43, 1.66, 1.72, whatever. get that and flash it. USB should be fine, but if it fails go for leoimg on sd card.
Failing that, if you can get hold of another working winmo phone for afew minutes, you can probably revive it (and indeed flash teh 3.14 rom if you like) with a goldcard.
EDIT - oh, does your phone only work with one sim? if so, your first stop would be try teh branded one for that operator.

I think I'm just going to leave it if it's fine for warranty and call HTC to ask them if they can reset everything for me...i don't want to mess it up even more ]:

ahh well theres the unknown see, , cos in theory the only way you can GET that stock spl on your phone is if you have been playing with hspl (or maybe if you're an electronics engineer / 1337 mobile hacker, heh), , now if they want to be funny, perhaps they could call your bluff, , , no one has reported anything like that to my knowloedge, and it doesn't break any unauthorised software rules, so who knows.

i don't remember which one my stock rom was...i THINK its 1.66 but its not working... :\..
I bought this phone in China seperately without a contract so its unlocked/not branded.. its the T8585 model...

that's why you need to spend some time on the htc website, try to download roms using your serial, when it lets you have one, that will tell you your original stock.

When I enter my serial, they all say "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device"... \:

hehe, , then you are on the wrong htc region website. all the roms are there, somewhere.
could always phone htc and ask them which is the stock rom for your serial.

Nice, okay, the 1.66 that I downloaded from Middle East & Africa-English Country on HTC site worked after entering my serial...Now I have SPL 1.42.0000 .
Now I just gotta wait another 2-3 weeks before I get my phone back from HTC ]:

but i will do my best to explain what happened !
first of all i wanted to put windows phone 7 for my HTC HD2
and it worked i did it ,
but for a reason i wanted to turn back to wm 6.5 so i opened task29 tool
then HSPL2 ,
after that i couldn't do anything
i opened the ROMUpdateUtility but the loading stop on 0%
i tried to open any tool and all of them stop on 0%
so what can i do ?
my phone is stuck in a sort of logo screen :S

have you pulled the battery? If you haven't, do that to reboot the phone. While the phone is booting during the white t-mobile screen, hold vol down until you get to the color bar screen, then plug in your USB and run the WM6.5 stock ROM off the T-mobile website (www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade)

I think your problem is that you should have installed HSPL 2.08 instead of SPL 2.08. In my opinion custom ROMs won't work with SPL.
Please use HSPL3 or HSPL4 Software to modify.

[Q]Help: is this HD2 dead?

First, sorry if I post the kind of question that has been already asked 1000 times, I'll understand if my post is deleted.
here is the story: I still have an HD2, but got a Sensation almost one year ago.
Now my HD2 is still WinMo 6.5 with Android from the SD card.
Yesterday, one of my pupils (yes, I'm a teacher, and my pupils know I'm into smartphones....!) gave me his HD2 because his father kinda bricked it.
I haven't been using my HD2 or reading XDA HD2 section or a long time (I'm too busy flashing my Sensation, so reading Sensation threads ), but I thought I could give it a try to unbrick it, I'm not a noob after all (selfish guy!!!!!!!!!)
I think this HD2 was somehow bricked while trying to install Android into NAND, or installing MAGDLR, as far as my pupil can tell from his dad
So this Sensation can't boot and has this, written in the 3 colours screen

Here is the state I had this HD2, unable to boot, just able to get into bootloader with the message above.
I tried to flash latest Dutty ROM (because I was using Dutty creme of the creme at my HD2 time!)
=> through USB, flash freezes sometimes at 2%, sometimes 75%
=> through SD card: it flashes, says it's successful, but the device doesn't boot, back to three colors screen, or white screen with error message if trying to boot normally
I tried task29: full of errors, not better after flashing a ROM
I tried flashing a shipped "official" ROM => same as custom ROM, says success, flashed through SD card, but never boots to something else than 3 colors screen..
I tried factory reset, said successful, but still no boot!!
I tried flashing a Radio ROM=> flash successful, but still no boot
I tried flashing HSPL again, 2.08 and previous versions: it flashes OK, can see the changes in three colours screen, but no success flashing a ROM after
I noticed that sometimes, this HD2 vibrates 7 times quickly in a row, which my own HD2 had never done, and I suppose it's a very bad signal
I'm not a noob at all, but really can't follow every thread, and tried the search function with no real luck.
Is this HD2 definitly bricked? Is there something I can do?
Sorry again to seem so noob, I would have flammed someone posting like me, when I was following HD2 development everyday, before having my Sensation (and a Moto Defy for my wife)

see the line ''SPL-2.08.00 8G XE'' (you actually mean 2.08.0000) well teh .0000 tells you its NOT hspl, its a stock spl, so nothing will flash.
run hspl 2,3 or 4 and choose ''2.08.hspl''. Flashing, task29, magldr, all that will now flash.

don't run flashes from running winmo, enter bootloader manually, when serial --> usb, run your flash/task29 or whatever. (Gorget about task29, it isnt necessary)
alternatively, if you do run it from running winmo, then once the phone has restarted and the usb has timed out, simply run teh flash program again, and dont touch teh phone, since it will now be in bootloader, and my above note takes over.

because that's the way to remove hspl, , flash a stock rom from sd. Step 1 of sd flashing is the spl gets flashed, removing hspl, the phone then restarts and tries to flash the stock rom, but now that hspl has gone it fails, since you aren't using the correct stock rom for that particular phone.
Try this, get the stock 3.14 rom ( filename will be RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship )
EDIT - you dont have a tmous, right? if you do, dont do this!)
phone into bootloader
use hspl4 to set 3.03.hspl
phone into bootloader
flash the 3.14 rom over usb.
report back.

3.03.hspl seems to be the key, when 20.8hspl wasn't
While the stock 3.14 ROM finished to download, I could run a Task29 till the end, no more USB disconnecting.

2.x spl is not a stock spl for regular hd2's, only tmous, so whilst it does work, it does introduce the odd problem. for example you cant sd flash stock roms with 1.x versions when you are currently on 2.x.
SO, with a regular hd2, any time you wanna return to stock or are having flashing troubles of some kind, it is always worth using hspl.exe (2,3 or 4 , doesnt matter) to remove the 2.x spl/hspl.
For me, I always go back to 1.66.0000 using hspl2 before i even try to flash a stock rom. Since i choose a 0000 ending, it will be updated as required by the stock rom.
Fingers crossed it helped.

I bought an HTC HD2 FEW WEEKS BACK FROM ONE OF MY FRIEND.
I DO NOT HAVE THE HISTORY OF WHAT HE TRIED TO DO WITH IT.
BUT BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK/DEAD , HE GAVE TO ME FOR CHEAP.
NOW THIS PHONE IS UNDER WARRANTY TILL AUG-2012 AND IS FROM VODAFONE.
(EVEN AFTER INSTALLING ANDROID IT IS VOID)
HE MUST HAVE TRIED SEVERAL ROM/HSPL TO GET TO THIS POINT.
PROBLEM:
When I power up the phone, it displays a NRG LOGO SCREEN (energize software), and it gets stuck on it forever.
When I do hold the power down button, then it comes up with the three colour screen and it says SPL-2.08.0000, AND also says rom update failed (only if i try to install and then start up)
The phone does connect through USB when it is on the three colour screen, but it does not let me install the rom or the spl...
I have tried literally every single step possible. I have tried to do task 29, i have tried install the original rom, i have tried to put the rom in the sd card and try it that way..
Some times after several hundred attempts, it does let me change the spl... as it was displaying 3.... before then i changed to 1.4..... and then to 2.08...
All i want to do is to get rid of the NRG SCREEN, so i could send to the htc ,, for repair ( i know that it is not under warranty if i used andriod, but they will not know) .. or is there any way to completely format the phone,,, is there any solution to install andriod or microsoft? pls help

The nrg screen shouldn't be a problem, but spl 2.x will definitely be refused, since spl 2.x is only for t mo USA hd2's.
As for "spl 2.08.0000 and software update failed",, someone tried to flash a non matching rom from SD whilst hspl was installed, result, hspl removed, stock tmous spl installed which then checks your phone vs the rom, finds a mismatch and gives software iupdate failed.
it wont boot because there is no rom to boot, it was wiped at the start of the flash.
Here's what I'd do
First to be sure its really broke (from your description there are a half dozen reasons why it wont start)
Use hspl4 to set spl 3.03.hspl NOT 3.03.0000
flash the wwe 3.14 rom from USB.
Alternatively, to make the phone warranty safe, again set spl 3.03.hspl (or 1.42.hspl or 1.66.hspl,, note that at no time am I using 2.08 or 2.10 spl) flash a stock splashscreen (several threads available)
Then use hspl2 again but this time choose the same spl but ending 0000.
Its the spl that is the real key, people have sent back hd2s with cooked roms and splashscreens, and no problems, but send a regular hd2 back with a spl that reads "x.xx.hspl " or any spl/hspl starting 2.x and they will refuse
Just cos it used to have android on doesn't mean a thing, they can't tell.

Now it has successfully flashed the 3.03 hspl...
Now the problem is after that.. when I flash the rom I.e 3.14xxxx pr 2.10xxx it will just start as usual and when it reaches 99%, it gets stuck and then the error box opens up.. after the recovery, the same thing happens over and over again.. these are the original from but I have also tried other roms and they stuck at different %s

Shame, Well, I guess the splashscreen is back to stock now? In which case remove hspl (set it to 1/3.xx.0000) and it will be warranty safe.

I have the same problem ! I have intalled the NRG Rom for HD2 Leo EU and every thing was good it works smooth, by i have download an app form Google Play "Beats Audio" with make somethin wrong with the drivers of DSP and HTC Music so i decide to re install the Rom and i fallow the steps for that i make a partitation for 200mb and then do the other steps...but at the end when i install the NRG Rom and start it for first time it freez on the NRG ENERGIZE logo saying "Please wait..." i wait for 30 min nothing... What can i do ???
