Hello,
the caller get an echo (of themselves) when phone with me.
I can reduce this a little bit while reducing the sound (to 1/2) but then it is hard to understand anything. I'm in a regular room.

OK, I don't know how to describe this very well but I'll give it a try.
I have an English language HD2 (WWE) -- this might be important.
Normally, when you place a call, you get like an audio feedback, indicating that the phone at the other side is ringing. I think this audio signal is generated by phone company. Usually this works well. However, when I call some numbers, my HD2 creates a second audio signal (like an echo). My guess is that this happens when the audio signal from the phone company is of low volume. The reason why I guess that this second audio signal is created by the HD2, is because when I call the same number from a Nokia phone, this second audio signal is not generated.
I also have an HTC Touch Cruise (aka Polaris, aka P3650). Originally this phone was Dutch, but I flashed it to English using instructions found elsewhere on this forum. Interestingly enough, when the phone was Dutch the second audio signal (i.e. the echo) did not occur. But after I had flashed it to English, I did start to get the echo when calling certain numbers.
I am hoping that the echo sound can be cancelled by modifying a registry key.
Anyone?
I've villain Rom 3.0 flashed on m s2.
I've bad echo on voice calls my friends tell me whenever they ring.... As in they can hear there own echo. everything is ok my end.
I installed villaintweaks 1.3.1 as I was told there was a fix fire this. I installed the noise cancellation fix.... But still it remained. Anyone any suggestions?
How can I completely remove villaintweaks and all its data btw? I had superuser access problems with villaintweaks initially before I got access allowed.
Really would like to get this echo. I don't like having to keep pressing menu-noise reduction off during every call.
Also notice that if I remove my protective case the echo disappears completely.
Any help would be great!

Remove your protective case .

Yeah I already said I know the case can cause the problem... But I don't want to remove the case.
Any way of disabling the noise reduction without having to do so during every call?

Install VRTweaks and disable noise reduction, that solved it for me.
Unfortunately, in CM7 (which I'm trying right now) such a fix does not exist yet AFAIK.

of noise reduction?

I'm discussing the issue with Samsung here in Belgium - trying to convince them this is a (rare) hardware issue. Did the test: same cases produce an echo with my phone, and not with other SGS2s.
If you can, restore to stock state, and go to a service point.

Yes it is a hardware issue, not so rare. NR should work fine with case too. There was slight echo on the other end even without case, horrible with.
Mine _much_ better after applying two layers of thin white soft medical tape over the ear speaker. The back of the case needs to be unscrewed and unlatched with a guitar pick. Not so difficult once you google up the service manual. Am interested in a proper solution without tape. That service manual is not very specific about speaker placement.
When I do a voice call the person I'm calling always hears their own echo but hears perfect on my end. When I use earphones without a mic same problem, when I use earphones that have a mic the call hears perfect on both ends. Normal calls without Skype works perfect. What's the problem? ):
Not much you can do about that, echo over internet calling is common, if you are using it on speaker then you can watch your volume level which might help but through earbuds the person should not be hearing an echo and if they are then it'll likely a problem with lag and skype itself rather than your device.
So I have been having an issue with echoing on the phone. I can hear all my lines clear on the phone, however, people I am talking to reported a small echo… like they can hear their voice repeating itself in the background…
Troubleshooting I did:
Using the standard phone earpiece: echo
Speakerphone: no echo
Headset: no echo
Taking off protective case while using earpiece: echo
Taking off the phone battery cover (back cover): no echo…
So it looks like the back cover is the culprit… Any explanation for this?
Hello folks. When i am talking with someone in voice call, the guys are complaining about hearing their voice's echo. I never heard an echo and didnt care much but today changed the phones with friend and yeah i hear annoying echo when i talk.
I thought the sound modes cause it but settle the stock mixer gain and again its goin on. Also tried an another carrier, goes on the bloody echo. Made a lil diggin but nothing found except replacement(haven't warranty). Any thoughts?
Fixed with Latest firmware.
