Anyone has the same problem???
When calling someone whos already on the phone, I get the usual busy tone - but on the Vario II's speaker (loud) (like it turns the speaker on automatically,... weird) Its annoying if I want to make a quite call at the office!
Yep, I get that as well! Effin' annoying it is as well when you've got the unit to your ear
I had this same issue once. I am using a HTC branded TyTN. My normal network is Cingular in the US, and I do not get this issue when using my Cingular SIM. I was recently in Singapore using a SingTel SIM, and the busy tone would come out the speaker. When I switched to a M1 SIM (also in Singapore, blasted SingTel does not allow data on prepaid!), I did not have the problem anymore. I also did not have this when using SMART prepaid in Manila or when using DTAC prepaid in Thailand. Also, I was using the stock TyTN ROM at the time. I have since switched to 1.35, but I have not had a chance to travel yet to see if the new ROM fixes the issue.
Same here. Really annoying.
Any solutions, guys?
Here is a fix, HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Sounds/BusyTone and change the wavfile for a quieter one, I use the busytone.wav file which i think gets installed withe skype ( i am not quite sure where it is originally from, just found it in my windows directory).
Or you can just remove the letters from the 'script' entry there - as I posted earlier today, which will disable it completely.
I don't know if this has been asked/answered but when i dial a phone number using the keypad the sound of the keys goes through the external speaker on the phone- is there a reg edit to make dialing key sounds go through the earpiece and not the speaker?
Thanks
I have the busy tone problem with my O2 trion. I use the workaround of nathanlock and it works great. I also contacted HTC about the problem. They claim that they have never heard about it.
touch tones and busy tone really loud
I have the same issue. i'd really like to fix both. the busy tone is extremely loud, and the dialing tones let everyone in a 10 cubicle radius know you are making a call. I have a love hate relationship with my 8525. love the things it can do, hate the things it sometimes does....
found some sound keys for the dial buttons in the registry, but nothing that looks like volume settings for them.
I have the same issue! it was really anoying... not anymore
tone problem
Nero would you like to explain how you solved the problem
I'm also having the problem with the tones coming out of the speaker when dialling. Additionally when i push the red/orange phone button the phone makes a high pitched sounds from the speaker.
I really dont remember either of these problems a couple weeks ago when I finished properly flashing it. Some one mentioned skype. I did recently install that.
Same here. Strange problem.
workaround update: change "Script" value to "ap" for tone to play only once, and change "Sound" value to "busytone.wav" (comes in rom, at least for HTC TyTN) - it's not loud at all.
Keypad sound issue
I only have the keypad issue. I have looked around but have not been able to find a solution. I would like to have the sound from the keypad in the earphone not on the speaker.
Is this the way the tytn is setup or is it just the group here that has the issue?
Can your "Busy Tone" fix also fix the keypad speaker problem?

I've solved the keypad issue by selecting "Off" in the Keypad combo box at the end of the Phone Setting Page.
I hope it helps.

I not really sure where you set this option, keypad combo?
It may be me, but can you be more specific, please?
The option I've found is under Settings-> Phone
You may see three Combo lists: Ring type, Ring Tone and Keypad
For the Keypad you can have "Long Tones", "Short Tones" and "Off".
If you take the last one you won't hear anything when you press use the keypad for making a call.

Great got it, Thanks! How blind am I?
Solution to busy tone problem
I had the same problem regarding the busy tone going through the speaker. I also had the added aggravation that, after each time that problem happened, my calls would divert straight to voicemail until I soft reset.
Another problem I used to have was that if I had call waiting and tried to answer the waiting call, the phone would freeze and I would have to soft reset with the stylus.
I was using an SPV M3100 with the original Orange UK ROM in Spain, with a Vodafone Spain SIM.
I believe these are simply bugs in the early radio roms. They show up with unpredictable combinations of roaming or using different sims than those of the original ROM operator's.
I fixed both problems by upgrading my radio.
Hope that helps.
Hello all:
If this has been covered or solved elsewhere, could you please refer me to said thread? Anyway, I have a problem where my girlfriend's 8525 emits its own GSM noise into the call. I.E. you'll be talking to her, then suddenly you here the GSM interfeerance. It varries from mild, to annoyingly loud. Sometimes, it cuts out, then resumes after a minute or so. That is not consistent however. That phone used to be mine, so I noticed it coming through the earpiece, however it was too soft to bother me.
One more thing. I noticed that windows system sounds appear to be piped through to the caller as well. I'm thinking, that if there's some registry tweek to disable that, perhaps it will also prevent the GSM noise from being piped through. Just a suggestion.
By the way, this phone is sim and sid unlocked and has the HTC rom, V3.54.255.3, and radio V1.54.07.00. Thanks, gladly appreciate any help or suggestions.
Is it only me or is everyone with HD experienceing noise during a voice call. The other person don't complain about it but at my end there is always a distorting noise from an earpiece during a voice call like a an electric interference. (and this is irrelevant to my location or signal strength - I get it everywhere).
should I get my HD replaced by Orange ?
I also experienced the weird electronic interference sound, but only twice so far (I've had the phone for over one month). The person on the other end couldn't hear it either time, and it only lasted a couple of seconds. It hasn't been a significant problem for me and I haven't heard it in a while.
I can also confirm that strange noise appeared during calls at least few times in last month and a half of usage. On some occasions I would hear my own last word being distorted and on others simply static-interference effects. Nothing too bad, but it does happen.
Hi all,
I've experienced this too.
1. Which ROM version do you use ? I've upgraded mine and the noise disappeared.
2. Yesterday I heard that noise again (first time for 10 days), but it was very silent and about 3-4 seconds. Then I realise that the noise is coming while in call ONLY when I am at home.
So I think that there might be some problem with the operator cell covering my house.
Anyway ..... try to find suitable NEW ROM for your phone ....it will make things better I hope.
Good luck!
P.S.:
Old ROM : 1.14.405.0 WWE
New ROM : 1.14.479.3 WWE
It's OK now
Hi
Is this issue allready raised?
During a phone call I can hear a significant background noise like if it would be a "not good" connection. But my counterpart is hearing me quite nicely.
The noise is there IF I call somebody than it is significant and realy to loud to "overhear" it.
On the other side if a get a call, there is nearly no noise at all.
All testing was done with 2 different phones and alwasy the same counterpart
Therefore I hope that this could be influenced by a better finetuning of the firmware/radio.
any idea - trick - recommendation?
Best regards,
dingolino
i'm having the same problem.
Whenever I call someone, I can ear a low noise similar to radio static in short bursts...
Haven't noticed if the same happens when i'm receiving a call so I will have to test this.

Radio interference kind of noise in the handset speaker when on a call..
I have a similar problem on my HTC Desire Z. I got this phone 2 days back in New Delhi, India from a HTC dealer (no worries about the source here). I'm using it on a GSM network (Vodafone). Its a beauty, with excellent call quality and clarity, superb screen resolution and colors, great speed and very good build quality.
But for one single nagging issue...
When on a call, sometimes, the handset speaker starts giving a soft dull crackling sound.. radio interference (like the one you hear when you bring a handset close to unshielded speakers). It stays on and may or may not go away during the call. Sometimes this noise is not heard at all. I have tried changing locations, holding it at different angles, switching off all wireless (blue-tooth and WiFi), using another network's SIM card and played around with all the settings and options within the handset (like turning off cell broadcast, selecting 'GSM Only' network etc).
But the problem remains.
This noise is not there when I use the headset. Its also not there when I use the speakerphone (when using the speaker phone, the device uses a second speaker and not the regular one on the front of the handset).
Even though I plan to write to HTC today and try and get a replacement device, I thought I will try looking for a solution too (though there are hardly any leads on this on the internet). Does anyone else with a HTC Desire Z face this problem, of radio interference sound on the handset speaker?
If anyone knows of a solution, please do let me know. Thanks in advance..
Hello
Please help me to solve this problem when it comes to software, it is a revelation very fast but if you do not get a response to the concern of my problem is that, unfortunately, I will have to return to Windows 6.5,
Regarding the problem is not only pacman but this fourth-ics
I do not know English well is all the translator apologize in advance.
With regard to the sensitivity of the microphone every time a phone call (GSM, of course, Polish network T-Mobile has long been ERA).
I use the phone for business calls also need perfect quality, such as a windows mobile.
And now to the heart during each call microphone is too sensitive you can hear everything that is too far away so that the sensitivity is overdrive when I talk quietly, the quality is super ok but all the way around you can hear me very clearly, unfortunately.
When romawiam louder for example, when drive a car at high speed (without a hands-free kit)
the person on the other side can hear me worse because it all sounds the komasujÄ….
But I noticed that during the conversation key Vol + or Vol-or hands-free switching on and off or switching on and off the microphone on the HTC HD2 to turn down the microphone works perfectly (ie, when the microphone is muted and wzsyscy hear me perfectly)
But the point is not to make or receive during each call for a second press Vol + and Vol-or hands-free start and stop and start and stop the microphone on the HD2.
I've tried all the methods that is: default.acdb, htcleo.acdb pasting different, of course, I changed the name to the right place, I will not elaborate on this further.
I also installed HD2 mic sensitivity is set too good handset for 350 or 300 up to 200 I tried.
I even tried running the program Speakerphone Control v2.3 but this is not at all does not work.
The ICS version 4 does not even have to install HD2 mic as this can be changed in the software for internal / etc / init.d.
But as the ICS 4 so in Jellybean each time you make or receive calls GSM to mute the microphone I briefly press Vol + and Vol-or hands-free start and stop, or a microphone attached and turn off the HD2 to the conversation was very well heard and prowzdzona without distorted microphone.
So we ask for a concrete answer whether it is possible in our beloved Android can be set for this parameter is unfortunately permanently back to Windows 6.5.
Regards
I might add that the Android installing only the nand and the CLK
