Hey people,
what I'm looking for is an alarm clock tone called "New Day". I used to have it on my Sense roms (wasn't on an AOSP rom for a while) and now I switched to CM7.2 RC2 and I backed up my ringtone and notification sound but forgot about the alarm clock tone. Could someone upload it for me? Also if you have a nice upload, could you upload original HTC ringtones/notifications/alarms, so that I could back it up on my external HDD for the future? I thought I had them, but can't find them. I also looked around google and this forum but couldn't find it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanked for.
Regards,
Jack.

You see the problem is, that I don't have the zip file. All I have is a CWM backup and I have the system.img file, but I tried mounting it in acetoneiso (I'm on Ubuntu 12.04), but it doesn't recognise it as an image file. Is there any windows file that could extract the system.img file? I have wine installed so i can try running a windows app to do this.
edit: I mean windows application, not file.
I upload the default audio folder with the ringtones/notifications/alarms you're looking for..
I can not insert a link because I do not have 8 posts.. but i can do this:
www54 . zippyshare . com/v/89557444/file . html
That's exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you very much. I don't know why but I prefer the sense based roms ringtones than AOSP. Thanks again!
I seem to like the stock ROM the best but would love to be able to theme it a little... specifically like the soft key color, always on menu key, time color, battery icon... could I pull the systemui.apk from a ROM uninstall the stock rename it to .bak place the one pulled from the ROM where it goes install that one and be able to accomplish what I'm looking to do? What would be the best way to do so if not without buying an app that does what I seek...

I've been trying to read up on how to build a ROM but all the links I come across are outdated. .. none the less I'm going to figure it out I hope... if anyone could point me to a good "how to" on building ROMs with a win 7 machine I would be very greatful everything I find say I need a Mac or Linux machine... thank you kindly for your time...

I found Jovy23's volume boost thread, while looking for a way to boost my volume without installing a different ROM. I downloaded 7zip and notepad++. I tried to edit via the notepad but couldn't get it to edit (says document was read only): tried to edit via ES File editor right on the phone, but when I was done step one and tried to save it. The changes would not save. I am unable to use either method to change this....Any help would be appreciated....thanks:good:

If it is read only, you can probably use the root browser in rom toolbox app it to read and write. Locate the file and then long press the file. Scroll down and click on properties and change permissions.

I think you should try any custom rom, i like Thunder Universe and Omega Rom, but you choose what you like, but that's because Samsung have some specs that Google don't have, and Touchwiz use everything that samsung has, unlike google that doesn't work very well on samsung, it loses something.
I am Saying by my own experience not saying technically.
If Someone that understand better, please feel free.
I hope i helped if not, well have hope and try replacing the sound component.
if i find something i might help you. :highfive:
Edit: you should try installing Viper4Android too. It is a software for Sound. search for it.
If it happens across multiple roms then it is definitely a hardware problem
flashing custom roms could have some bugs for your device. try to flash stock ones.
