Id like to to have the external SD card mounted as /mount/ instead of /removable.
Is it possible what do I need to modify.
The same thing with Usbdisk if possible.
Another thing, can /download be under externalSD card instead of internal?
I am using Thor.
Thank you very much and Happy New Year to all

So I have a 16gb card in my Acer Iconia tablet. Go into settings>storage and the space available shows up but its like I can't even move any files to the card. Almost as if the tablet created a virtual sdcard partition and is using that to store everything. Even when I install an app and choose to install to SD card. Storage shows space is only being used in the internal memory not the sdcard. Am I doing something wrong? Seems odd because the device is recognizing the card, showing how much space it has but I use a file manager and the sdcard folder is almost like a logical partition. Any light anyone can shed on this is greatly appreciated, as i'm at a loss.

The /mnt/sdcard is the internal memory partition or logical device as you mentioned. If you file browse to the /mnt directory you will see an /external_sd folder (aka /mnt/external_sd) which represents the external plug-in SD card.

Wow I can't believe I missed that. I feel so disgraced. Anyway thanks a bunch. I'm going ot use the excuse sometimes you can't find what your looking for because your making it more complicated than needed. Yeah that sounds like a good one.

format your micro SD card in another phone or one of the market apps or try a did card. Fat 32
Tried that, no luck. Anything else?

Use a different microSD card - does issue still happen? If so, it's probably not the MicroSD card. If not - problem solved, the card is the issue.
Does the other sd have to be inserted permanently or can it just be inserted for flashing only?
also if I format the sd card on CWM is it formating the internal card? or the external card???

You can use it for flashing a rom image only, no need to keep it in the system after applying a update/rom to the a500.
You can also flash a rom from USB key if you have one (FAT32 is a must).

Are you using the mount option in CWM? If so, that's for mounting the SD card on to a connected PC as a disk drive...
If not, and no external SD cards are working for you, you can also use a USB memory stick as mentioned above.
I used another sd card all is well now, last question didnt get an answer for,
In CWM does formating sd card mean formating external or internal sd?

I noticed that the instructions to root/flash .zips call to put the file(s) on an external sd card. Specifically, the instructions for the Odachi Tiamat kernel say to put the file on the "Drop the kernel onto the external SD Card" and gives direction to mount the card in ClockworkMod.
Does anyone know the reason for this? I was able to flash the kernel without using an external SD Card; I just placed the file on my internal storage.
Thanks

For the xoom there is a exception because we can both flash on external and internal but for most Android devices its custom to flash off the external SD

Thank you kind sir.
Hello.
I have installed a class10 micro sdcard on my galaxy note.
I would like to know if the 16G is faster than my sdcard or my sdcard ?
Is it more interessting to put the apps and the cache on the internal memory or on the sdcard ???? (and can i use app2sd if external card is faster ?)
Also, in es explorer i can not find the directory of the external sdcard.
Do you know where it is ?
Thank you
The internal memory is always faster. The name of the folder is "external_sd".

This is for the people who have a dead internal sdcard(mount sdcard errors and such) and cannot use camera or gallery in cm 10+.
This mod will mount your sdcard as sdcard 0(internal) so android sees that you have an internal sdcard.
I am using this rom with original partition layout:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2022341
Backup your old vold.fstab
Mount system as rewriteable with any file explorer
Download my vold.fstab from my dropbox link and put it in /system/etc, change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot. your external sdcard should be mounted as internal sdcard and you can use the camera again.
Jellybean+ (CM10+):https://www.dropbox.com/s/rtdw1s2sajvbgjg/vold.fstab
ICS (CM9): https://mega.co.nz/#!MVxjzLaJ!VqzbFlU05zEkfZDK-JNIlxBK1Sl6Vx_wCsF8iuFVasM
For instructions on how to revive your dead galaxy s go to this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdMhYYdMB08
Thanks:

Re: [How-To] Mount external sd card as internal sd card in jellybean roms
can i connect external usb to my device
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Like USB otg? its not self powered on this phone. So you will need a external power source.
Many, many thanks.....
But Good to know in the latest versions of cm roms you can chose the internal or external memory SD card and you can find in the camera setting

sherry478,
My internal sdcard is OK, but I would like to mount external sdcard as a sub directory under /data/media/0 so that data directory bind become possible. Is there anyway to do this mount? My device is ASUS TF101 with EOS4 rom (jelly bean 4.2.1)
Thanks in advance
