If you have an earlier (SBK1?) pad you might be able to sort your pad out with NVFlash. Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366743
Good luck.

It's not something I've been able to do as I am SBK2. The instructions in the post seem pretty good tho. Is there something you're having a particular problem with?

What were you doing when this happened or it just decide to freeze at the Asus screen out of the blue?
Have you tried the button combo method to get into recovery?
Hold Vol down plus Power button
when you see words scrolling at the top left of the screen
immediately push Vol up within 5 secs.
This should get you into recovery

What method did you use to root and install CWM?
Did you ever had CWM recovery installed?
Some B7O have the SBKv1 which enable it to be use with NVFlash.

I had the exact same problem after I updated to the latest OTA. I lost my root and recovery. I reverted back to 8.6.6.19 via
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417006
I had to use the second method and it seemed to solve my problem. I then re-rooted using razorclaw and reinstalled CMW.
Good Luck

Got an issue here,
I rooted through the one click root the other day.

I think it's a bug. People say you have to have it plugged in to a computer, or it doesn't boot into CWM.
Don't suppose you know if it's going to be fixed? Is it an issue with CWM or the bootloader?

ok first off i am using my first nexus device which is the nexus 7. i have recently unlocked and rooted it so that i can flash paranoidandroid onto it. i used the google nexus 7 toolkit 4.0.0 too. so when i hold down the volume rocker buttons, i get into fast boot mode. after that i select recovery but when i do that, it goes pixelated for a sec and a dead android guy appears with a explanation mark over him. I'm assuming it already has a clockwork mod but if not can someone please help me?
Check your app drawer for cwm. If it's not there download it from the play store, once installed open it up and flash it. Or go back to your toolkit and flash it .

CWM or ROM Manager. It's also unnecessary to hold the volume keys to get the bootloader; hold power until the Google screen (maybe not necessary), at which point you just press volume down.

Sorry I meant download ROM manager. I stand corrected. Thank you. Once it installs try flashing cwm from there. If that doesn't work you might have to go back to stock and start over.

Does it boot up and function normal? Are you sure you have root?
I think you should start over. Try flashing stock 4.2.1. See what happens.
I am also very new to this. I really messed mine up twice. I had to start over time and time again just to get mine working.
Reading on here a lot of people don't like these toolkits. You have to follow the directions given to you from the toolkit to perfection or they don't work. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
I can't help with adb (I'm still trying to learn)
The toolkit will work. Like I said, try flashing a stock ROM. If the toolkit let's it flash then there is no reason it won't flash cwm.
Read the directions

did you delete the recovery-from-boot.p/ file? you would have to if youre using the stock rom, or the stock recovery will replace the custom recovery every time. use root explorer or a similar root file manager to delete it.
It'd probably be best to flash a recovery image through fastboot. You can find both CWM and TWRP in the dev section.

Howdy folks!
So yeah I need a bootloader from someone with working 3 button combination to get into recovery. The reason I ask for this, is so that we can all benefit from it.
Your device MUST be GT-I8190 ONLY! and NOT GT-I8190N or GT-I8190L.
Here's a dd command to enter in Terminal Emulator.
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 of=/sdcard/bootloader.img
Once you got it, navigate to your internal sd card, upload it and paste the link here.
Thank you.

It could be a possibility that the kernel is the reason for three booton combo.
I m not a dev, maybe once a day.
Edit:I think build is not the fact, or is the rom the reason for starting recovery?
I ve a custom zialigned rom.

This will be tricky to debug it in this way , for example I flash (same) CWM multiple times and sometimes the combination of 3 buttons works (drive me to CWM recovery) sometimes not work and load the download mode on the same phone .

I have another trick to go to recovery: For me, is working.
Do: vol up, home and power together when phones off.
Then do this combo three times again. (Press three bottons together, three times while looking at samsumg logo, then hard bottons blinks three times. Lol
The magic word is three.
Enjoy..

It probably works for you because you triggered it to go there when you pressed it the first time already.
Wont work for me.

I got an idea, first time when recovery loads, it asks at reboot, fix stock recovery install.
So reflash via dd, and at closing recovery push fix stock recovery.
I might be that your rom flash stock recovery!
So it could be not working, the three combos.

Problem is not if we use custom & stock recovery.
We have had this problem with three button combo not working since we got our phones.
It came like this from factory.

Hi
I installed via cmw smoothrom 4.4 and I can't get past the animation boot.
I reboot and the same, I boot into fast boot with power and volume down and can't get into recovery. Even when I connect USB with fast boot the tab freezes.
If I let the nexus boot to animation and plug it in via USB I can access the nexus but there is no folders/files.
I have tried wugfresh/jrom with no luck so I think my days with the nexus are over.
What a shame

So when you're in the bootloader the tablet freezes?
What OS are you using? I've heard of issues with Win8. You should be able to fastboot flash the bootloader .img file and the zip file from the stock Google N7 images for 4.2.2, have you tried that yet?
It freezes as soon as I plug a USB in whether it be a charger or laptop with win xp.
So that root maybe a problem
Paul
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
When in the bootloader, you don't have to do anything though, so I guess I'm confused here...
If you boot the tablet into the bootloader (Power + Vol Down), then plug in USB, open command prompt and change directories to where fastboot is (which is in the Android SDK - platform-tools directory) and type: fastboot devices
What happens?
That's too technical for me I'm afraid.
Nexus 7 paper weight I guess.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
For what it's worth:
If you can get to the bootloader there's hope for it, however it will require research, installation of Android SDK Tools, Asus N7 USB drivers, and downloading the N7 factory Google images. There's plenty of how to guides on each of these topics, which in the end is not that hard to get going.
I suggest do a little research, and see what you can do.
Thanks

Take the initiative and read the stickies.
People that assist others on here seldom take to hand holding someone that hasn't taken initiative in trying to solve the issue them-self, or learn the toolset needed to fix the issues(s).
It can seem overwhelming but its easy if you take it step by step.
You need to get fastboot installed on your computer including getting the drivers for your nexus installed.
When this is done you just issue a few commands and you will be back in business.
this gentleman has a guide that will get you most of the way done. You dont need to root but pay attention to the fastboot flashing.

I'll also suggest YouTube as a source of knowledge. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent watching videos and reading stickied posts about rooting without a kit. I'm ordering my nexus 7 today and will still probably watch the same videos and reread the threads.
