The force close bug is due to browser.apk removal. I will give the update in v9.2.
Packet data can be used and there is no error. It causes because at that time your network provider is not providing the data connection temporarily.
If it is not the case, go to settings > Wireless and network > Mobile Network > Access point names > Press the menu key > Reset to default.
This should work anyway.

You dont need to flash system.img files. put that file in respective directory on sd card for example, sekhys collector editions system.img file can be kept in sdcard\Android\data\g3mod\roms\Sekhy_8.0. then reboot in recovery, select multiboot->switch rom->Sekhy_8.0->done. you can optionally take backup of current rom in the multiboot.

Sekhar, if its clear that OC versions of kernel will perform good, why one should go for non-oc version? are there any drawbacks of OC kernel?

Well an oc kernel may cause instability(never happened to me) and will shorten the lifespan of your CPU chip, but I don't worry about that as the chips are made to last at least 5 yrs, so although the lifespan is shorten, I would have alrdy changed my phone

if it's diferent cache file format u should use fs.convert..and put it in sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/....
and reboot phone...wait untill it boots...if it stucks at g3mod logo wsit 15min then force reboot(hold power key untill reboot)...now you should be able to wipe caches in cwm

[Q] Multiple roms in one Defy??

I have been wondering if we could install multiple ROMs in our phones at once and switch between them as we would wish. Thereby skipping the pain of making contacts and app backups.
After a bit of Googling, i came across an app named "Boot Manager",which allows you to install 5 ROMs at once, but alas, it doesn't support our defy...
It would be great if i could have MIUI in my phone besides CM7,
Afaik, Technically it IS possible...
The ROMs would be installed in our SD Card and the phone will then be able to boot images of the desired rom, we wish to switch to.
If anyone has any information, then please share.
This is a video of the app running in HTC Sensation. Do check it out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwJGy0x-iFM
Guys, we have to make this Awesome thing run in our defy...!! Anyhow..!!
Good question dude.
I've been wondering if I can have cyanogenmod installed and if I can switch back to stock incase I'm not satisfied with CMod.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Some good news,
The boot manager app can be used in Defy as well by configuring it manually using the adb shell.
Gonna try it in a day or two.

Exciting...that will certainly be great as changing ROM comes with the added hassel of redoing necessary housekeeping all over again...will keep watching!
Alright friends, so it actually is possible for us to use the boot manager app.
All we got to do is to manually configure the settings.
Here is what we need to configure:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

I have read in the help manual that the settings can be configured using adb.
But i dont have a pc with me these days.
So either if someone who knows how to use adb can find out the sizes of the folder and share here, or we will have to find a way to find out the size of the root folders using terminal emulator.
Further questions are welcomed.
we should type the total size of data system and cache or the used space
Someone test this ?
It's quite interesting, but what about applications, data etc, i think so one rom should be primary (in phone memory)
we should type the total size of data system and cache or the used space

The Total size that is allocated to these folders, not the used space.

You say that you have tried every version... Wud you please elaborate how you did that??
The settings need to be configured for which the size of the folders has to be known, and that can be done via adb.

data size:1200

How did you find the following values?? Using adb?
Next when i configured my boot manager with the settings provided by you and tried to install a ROM into the SD card it first asked me to choose b/w Ext2 or Ext4.
Then on selecting any of the above an error popped up saying "Error making img" - Error making img to hold filesystem. Please try again.

Make sure you have rooted phone and Gingerbread 2.3.4
Download this: http://www.multiupload.com/JGZE0DM8NU
And extract it on a folder.
Password: adgoosuc
These are the simple steps:
1. Copy those 3 files in your SD CARD
2. Turn off your phone
3. Reboot on recovery.
How? Press power button and home button until you see "SAMSUNG" Text.
Then you will have something like this:
Volume buttons for go UP & DOWN
Home button for select (click)
4. Click on apply sdcard:update.zip and select the file named "ClockWorkModAce.zip" (if you dont know where is that go to step 1)
5. Then some text will appear ... and after it finishes reboot your phone by clicking "reboot system now".
Then turn off your phone again and enter recovery AGAIN.
6. Select "Install ZIP from sdcard" and install the file named "cm-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG-Grif_07.zip"
7. When that finish,DON'T REBOOT,just install "cm-7.1.0-RC1-AllFixes-Grif_07.zip" and when that finishes you can reboot.
And that's all ! Now you have Cyanogen MOD 7.1 RC1 running on you Samsung Galaxy Ace without any problem.
I hope this works for you as for me.You also can hit THANKS button for me :$

it is expected to loose all your data when you're flashing a custom rom over a stock one. Wiping is required cause you'll end up with a messedup phone.

[KANG2-28/03/12] Navigation Bar on cm9 rom+ICS colour button

Strictly follow the method given below otherwise u will get bootloop and mounting system before flashing is must
Guys those who want to have navigation button on cm9 rom can use the flashable zip which I modified.
I find many people who are asking for navigation button on ics rom and even I love them because I don't need to press those hard buttons now.
I used the framework-res of latest beta 4 cm9 from by lupohirp and I think u can use it on any cm9 rom but never forget to make backuP
buttons are modded ics blue colour instead of grey
download flashable zip from the attachment attached at the end of this post
How to use -
Read it carefully,,
1. Go into recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Mount system(mounts menu)
4. Flash it
5. Reboot(just got a minute and it booted)
Btw!
####Do Not Use Root Explorer!!!####
####Mount System Before Flashing!!!####
Or else BOOTLOOP!
Now keyboard also fits properly without changing LCD density thanks to lupohirp and arjen for their awesum work
I also changed navigation button height to 36.0 do to make it look good on our phones 3.2 inch screen

Because we added a lot of things in the various release (in italian)! We are working to a final version! But we think that it won't be very different from RC3!
The stk apk is working? Because I have a postemobile sim.
Grazie

Italian good Job
Hey , I have an idea !
Maybe u can remove the ICS-styled settings .
Then it can fully support multi-languages .
But the Status Bar in ICS-like will be better .
Just for some suggestions , hope your ROM can be better and better !!

yes I followed all instructions, dont know why it aborted, didnt format sd ext but then I need the stuff on there and not had to format this with other roms?
It just aborts the installation at the first load, which means I cant really wipe stuff after its installed?
I'll try again and let you know if successful.
