Gingerbread BETA available for HD

Anyone taken the plunge and flashed this? Does everything else work bar the aforementioned?

Done a full backup, wipe and then flashed. Boots OK.
I have installed the google apps add on package, but no market or google account sync. etc. Will try to get working, having a look at the G2 forums...

EDIT: That is a full rom, not just the gapps I think. Do not flash!

Had a quick flash of the 2.3 rom. It goes on fine and it whizzes around lovely. Could dial numbers and rings, but no data though, from wifi or mobile.
Was worth it just to play with the sleep animation.

So you can confirm if you flash this you can revert back to previous rom ie 2.2.1 ? What where you on before that?

Tested and confirmed both wi-fi and mobile data working for me.
Did you do a full wipe first?
And, which radio are you running? I'm running the latest from the ROM leaked earlier this week.

Im running cyanogen rc2. Just did a full backup with rom manager and wiped data and cache, then flashed.
Had a play on 2.3 then rebooted into recovery to restore my backup. Phone is just the same as it was 30 mins ago.

Anyone found google apps add on that works with Gingerbread?

I installed it on my UK based DHD and it installed fine (for a non-working ROM). As already mentioned the data connection wasn't working but it's silky smooth. The keyboard needs the resolution sorted out as it's quite small. I didn't install gapps but most wouldn't work anyway. Did a recovery and restore and now back on Stock Sense.

Ok can confirm that i have Data working , at least wifi about to test 3G.
I am using the new radio from the RUU this week
Gapps doesnt work spoke to some people on the desire IRC channel and they said to remove some NetworkLocations.apk file but its not even inside the ROM so ?

Think we need to remove that apk from the google apps zip file. Will it need re-signing or can clockwork recovery flash non signed zips?

LOL its 2:20Am here, cant even believe i asked that or didnt check that before
anyways think i got gapps going , and if you update your su binary thru super user by mistake you need to use this for r/w instead of adb remount.

[HOWTO] Install Honeycomb Music Application On Froyo

First of all this is my first HowTo so please bear with me and my language
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about installing this app! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
I was trying to install Honeycomb music application on my lg p500 but simply installing the apk was not doing the job for p500 user
so i just searched a lot for installing this application on my rooted optimus one i found the procedure and i have just shortened it.
I was running this app on void echo but i should also run on other roms
but first have a look that how does this app look alike

Instruction of installing
Edit: before you continue, please backup the orignal Music.apk from /system/app in case the methods fails for you
edit : before you try steps below just give a try installing music.apk like any other apk. If installer gives u a error "application not installed" then follow these steps given below
a.) adb method (recommended)
1) First of all copy these 2 file in root of your sd card (click to download)
Music.apk
libjumper.so
2) turn on usb debugging in phone
3) now open adb shell and use these commands

adb shell
su
# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
# cd sdcard
# cp Music.apk /system/app
# cp libjumper.so /system/lib
# reboot
(alternatively you can also write the above core in terminal emulator )
4 now the phone will reboot and you should have your music player replaced
if you did'nt find any changes or found music app missing repeat the above steps and reboot phone one more time
b.) directly through file manager(does'nt worked for me but you can try)
1) First of all copy these 2 file in root of your sd card (click to download)
Music.apk
libjumper.so
2) now open any rooted file explorer such as su file manager or root explorer
3) now copy libjumper.so and paste it in your system/lib folder (if you are not able to copy then pz check to mount the folder as r/w
4) now copy Music.apk to system/app folder ( it will replace the original app )
5) restart your phone
hope you liked the tutorial and i cannot guarantee it working on your phone though it work on every phone if steps followed correctly.

when i do it with adb. I get always a error message no such file/ or directory, but the two files are in the root folder of my sd card. Can you help me out?

Yes, he forgot to say that you have to write:
cp /sdcard/Music.apk etc...
Same for libjumper.so

i cannot gaurantee u to run it on cm7 because it is in alpha stage and it has so many bugs try it any froyo rom

for cm7 i just removed the old one
rebooted and instaled this musik.apk
and works nice.

On certain roms application does more installs so this tutorial is for those rom which gives an error while installing

i have rebooted for almost 10x now. still no music app showed. this may sound silly but do i need to install the orginal music app first for this to work cause i dont have any music app.

Mmmh not working..Must have done something wrong. What about the libjumper.so file? Do you put it into the system/lib folder? Or you just install the apk and ignore the .so?

firs i follwed that proccedure
but the apk gave me many FC
so i think it's ok if u copy that lib

i just soo that i have 2 music icons
1 from music apk
and 1 from libjumper

1)do a backup copy of the original .apk
2)Remove, by a root file manager, the libjumper.so and music.apk from the folders where you copied them
3)Copy the default music.apk to your sdcard
4)Debug mode
5)refollow the procedure above, ignoring the libjumper.so line
6)Done

I have seen too much people asking how to install Cyanogen (Not Official),so here i bring you this tutorial that i followed and installed Cyanogen successfully on my SGA.

Make sure you have rooted phone and Gingerbread 2.3.4
Download this: http://www.multiupload.com/JGZE0DM8NU
And extract it on a folder.
Password: adgoosuc
These are the simple steps:
1. Copy those 3 files in your SD CARD
2. Turn off your phone
3. Reboot on recovery.
How? Press power button and home button until you see "SAMSUNG" Text.
Then you will have something like this:
Volume buttons for go UP & DOWN
Home button for select (click)
4. Click on apply sdcard:update.zip and select the file named "ClockWorkModAce.zip" (if you dont know where is that go to step 1)
5. Then some text will appear ... and after it finishes reboot your phone by clicking "reboot system now".
Then turn off your phone again and enter recovery AGAIN.
6. Select "Install ZIP from sdcard" and install the file named "cm-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG-Grif_07.zip"
7. When that finish,DON'T REBOOT,just install "cm-7.1.0-RC1-AllFixes-Grif_07.zip" and when that finishes you can reboot.​
And that's all ! Now you have Cyanogen MOD 7.1 RC1 running on you Samsung Galaxy Ace without any problem.

It's possible to flash this rom over a 2.3.3 stock rom? Because Grif07 in his post about this rom doesn't say anything about rooted phone or android 2.3.4 as requirements to install this rom.

u need any gingerbread 2.3.x version.
so 2.3.3 stock is fine. but u do need ClockWorkMod Recovery.

dude, no need to mount data and system when flashing cm over stock rom. Just a full wipe on everything and then flash....

Stock has best battery,no doubt..But cm7 is not unusable or anything

it is expected to loose all your data when you're flashing a custom rom over a stock one. Wiping is required cause you'll end up with a messedup phone.
No offence, but how come you right a guide for flashing when you don't know what has been said above

Use Titanium Backup for save your apps and data files

I meant 3G conection because I know wi-fi works well on cm7. (If I back up the stock rom with CWM i will be able to restore that backup over cm?)

3G connection works fine mate.

When I try to install clockworkmode I get installation aborted. The phone is rooted.
What do I do wrong.

Try to check your zip file make sure it is signed and flashable.
I suggest re-downloading again the flash file cwm.

[How To] Root [I9100][ROM 4.1.2] With Stock Recovery

Root FJ10 Without Custom Kernel​
As we all know FJ10 has been released and is floating around the internet, and iv'e decided to share the way i rooted the leak (International SGS II) using stock samsung recovery
Credits

What you need
PC/MAC/Linux
ADB
USB Cable
Phone
CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip
There is two ways to flash the root package in custom recovery (sorry i keep forgetting the other way)

Flash Trough Update
1) Download CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip
2) Rename CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip > update.zip
3) flash as an update
Instructions
1) Enter Recovery mode by holding power+volume up.
2) Connect USB Cable to the phone and PC
3) Choose Install Update with adb
now
4) Now in your terminal/CMD write adb sideload CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip
5) Look at the screen and you will see the update package being installed
Congratulations you got now a rooted FJ10 leak without flashing a custom kernel

I go to search -> cmd and then I type adb sideload CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip in it. I think this is wrong but I never worked with ADB.

You need to install adb then cd to the adb directory, then type the command.

Make sure you have adb installed on your pc
after that begin with step 1

Doesn't work at 4th step for me, I check devices in adb devices and it shows my device but some large-ass thing comes n it doesn't install the SuperSU zip for some reason

Edit: Yes mate, I used that file only, you copied it from Sprint S2's JB thread? Coz I can see the screenshot is of Oct 11 firmware.

yes i did, as i know this will work with it too

Buy mobile odin, flash the rom, then you will get root. Quite simple.
I love new rom.
But it wipe all my data system apps...

that isn't mobile odin problem, its wiped automatically

This is why adb sideload is powerful (as on sprint we were never able to access sdcard)

But, I have found two bugs:
1) USB don't work at all. It's possible to fix it? I like to have ADB access in the recovery.
2) The option for "Re-root System (superSU)" don't work. I executed it multiple times, boot to Android, download SuperSU, but then the program says "no su binary available". You know why this function don't work?

SuperSu will not work as i have removed su binary to reduce size of the recovery. And about adb access I dont have device so didnt try will confirm with someone

Ok,
So please, can you publish two different versions? One with su binary and one without. Then the user can select if it's partition maps has sufficient space.
Related to USB port. How I can access to shell with this recovery? From the mobile, from USB, from wifi, or whatever... ?

I would have never removed su if the recovery partions is of size more than 6 mb but unfortunately it is of 6mb only and su binaries in recovery are old u can SuperSU zip and get root access LINK
If you are using kk rom then i will advice u to use Superuser instead of supersu. because supersu fails to elivate some permissions in mtk kk roms.
And for access try usb otg

Ok,
Related to SuperSU, I recommend to remove the option in the recovery or put a mode when the su binary is loaded from the SD card, like the load of the Aroma FileManager.
In reference to USB, don't work at all! If I try in the Philz to enable "usb otg" it don't work. What I can do?
