Well, finally I get my device running up again! Unfortunately I wont publish it, maybe I will charge for total solution.

Dont know If unlocks too bcoz my bricked device was unlocked state. Anyone that wants to send me a locked Herald (to test if unlocks too), would be really appreciated.

I bricked mine and have just ubricked it. Its easy, connect USB to PC, enter bootloader, run any RUU wizard.
* Enter bootloader - Press and hold the camera key, then press the soft reset button. Hold the camera button until the bootloader menu shows it. You will see 3 different gradient colors.

I think, it's a good idea. Actually I thought about something like your thread but if you don't mind I will say something in your thread.
I've got the same problem as you've got. Moreover, I've seen a lot of users posting on this forum, which have got such a problem with their Heralds. They boot only in tri-color bootloader mode and even RUU dedicated to our models doesn't work, saying Error 300. When we are trying to use MTTY to run getdevinfo command, as a result we can see error message. That's why RUU can't check the right CID in our devices.
All known solution for Heralds don't work with our problem. We should develop or wait for being developed by someone (Olipro,pof,mestrini,...) suitable solution. There are fine solutions for bricked Wizard or Hermes so it should be the way to unlock our Heralds, too.
My idea is to count all users with bricked Heralds to see the size of the problem and to show our great developers on this forum that it is important to find a way to unbrick our Heralds. Or maybe we should establish the prize for the person who will be the first in finding the unbricking method and than donate him? I think it could motivate some of them...
So, all bricked Herald's users, please leave your post in this thread, to show the world that this is a huge problem!

I was thinking in something.. Do u remember PDAVIET first version for Prophet? You cannot flash PDAVIET WM6 directly.. U have to flash a special PDAVIET WM5 to prophet first, then PDAVIET WM6. And... when u got a bricked prophet device, the solution is...? PDAVIET WM5 special rom

Forced RUU? I know that the Univesal has an RUU to bypasses any and all checks and just starts flashing the ROM. I wonder if this would help... I assume the IPL is still fine unless it was overwritten in your devices because it's in a different memory address in devices with an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. We would have to create our own RUU, though.
EDIT: After some research, this will not work. If the radio was damaged but the radio bootloader was not, there might still be hope, if the radio bootloader was damaged, then it's a no go.

Ive tried with Bepe's RUU (Polaris Premium BEPE ROM) but have no luck... maybe i should try to patch IPL/SPL in RUU check

I need some help on this one. I'm still not getting the FroYo update (or the pre-update(2.1-update1).
stock/un-rooted
2.1
non-branded/SIM lock free
I did tried to manually update true the recovery mode, but I'm getting "E:signature verification failed. Installation aborted." messages on every update.zip file(obtained true http://zubu.ca/legend/fota_check.php).
The phone is USB-bricked after a failed custom rom flash.
stock rom, no usb data, no sd card(managed to fix that).
I live in the Netherlands and did see that a lot of other Dutch people got there first and second update(via comments on Androidworld.nl).
Any suggestions are welcome. I'm out of idea's

At this point I'd unbrick and root it... both howtos are in development...

To unbrick, it needs to be rooted. to root it needs to have a working usb. So I'm punched in to a tight corner T_T

DAMNED, got to 2.1-update1 no problem. update 2.2 done and now it keeps rebooting.

Another RUU broke the loop. all is fine now

OK after a reboot it still ends up in a endless boot loop(white screen, htc logo).
Am unable to go into the recovery mode.

Did you do a full wipe? It is usually needed when fiddling around like this...
you most certainly can get to recovery, vol down + power and then recovery? No?
Clear what you can and you'll see...

Fast-bootloader and bootloader are accessible but recovery is not. I get the same boot loop. However If i try to run a RUU it get the phone up to the black screen with htc logo. then RUU comes with a "cant find device" error and quits. the phone then boots normal on its own. USB is still broken btw.

It looks like you got the error at the worst momnent you could while flashing the first RUU... I still think it is possible to flash boot onlyby the legeimg.zip file at the very beginning (you'll notice the green text flashing in few lines) but that is a bit over my head... Maybe someone will know?
If that fails, I'd take my legend for warranty repair and lie through my teeth to have done nothing to the phone

I guess the handset did not go the "official upgrade path" to obtain:

The reason I am mentioning it is because if you were to follow the official update path your PDA and CSC would be at:
phone : I8700XXKB3
Maybe that is the underlying issue here. Something that makes it act funny.
Did you return it to pre NoDo by flashing it?(which firmware?) Or reverting to a backup?

yes , since I get the device and start using it .. it happen all the time ..

Uhh :/ This is a bit of a stretch but it could be that your flash memory is corrupt.
I suggest to try and flash a newer ROM to it to see if it is broken.
If it persists you can always get it repaired. I believe EU law puts a 2 year warranty on electronic devices. .. I might be mistaken.

Just pretend like you left the warranty somewhere... don't even mention it... act like a casual phone user ;D. When ever you start giving them details it will become more complex. So don't tell them anything about flashing etc. Tell them you tried the "reset" button hehe. At the end of the day they just want to process you.
TBH I think the warranty starts when you start using the handset. i.e. that's why they need the serial number. (I just noticed you are in the US)
I don't know about the CSC but I think there a couple of other ROMs out there that can be used that have CSC files... look around in the dev forum.
JK1 isn't the only ROM.

Yup any Samsung partner place will take it. Just have a look on the Samsung website. They list "mobile phone repair partners" etc....
When I tried to hand in my German phone to a certain repair centre in the UK I was met with bureaucracy. Excuses such as "its different" "cant be serviced.. only in germany" were given.
Granted.. I made the mistake of telling them that my phone was bought in Germany.... its too much for most call centres and receptionist at repair centres to comprehend and digest... I just went to another one and kept my mouth shut.
Simply put... come in. Tell them it broke. Tell them that you bought it a while ago. If they ask for papers tell them you left it at home and that they should check the Serial number or something.

my problem is that non of the samsung center in my country selling windows phone 7 devices ..
they might say: we don't know what the hell is this !! we can't fix it !!!!!!
but I'll give it a try ..

The Samsung Repair Centres are usually just "partners" they usually fix all sorts of phone but also have a certificate from Samsung to repair their devices.
Should be on the website.

flash the latest rom kc1 and report again..

I've downloaded it and there wasn't a CSC then I tried to flash it and the flash didn't work !!!!
the procedure or download link of KC1 might help ..

There are many csc's in the Rom development section. Just take the one that fits to your region/provider.

I flashed my phone ..
my new PDA : 18700XXKC1
phone : 18700XXKB2
CSC : 18700XENJK1
OS version : 7.0.7389.0 ( I'll update it later )
Firmware : 2424.11.3.1
radio : 2424.11.2.2
bootloader : 5.3.0.4
I did flash and while the phone flashing my phone stuck ( as usual ) in samsung logo ..
and I turn it off manually .. but now I have KC1
I'll give it a try and see where things going ..

I'm gonna throw my phone at the wall and bury it ..
It's been worse and worse since I starting to flash my phone ..
the conclusion is : never buying anyting WITHOUT WARRANTY ..

I bought mine Omnia without warranty . Well in theory I can always send it to Germany...
Don't you want to donate your device to "hacker" community to create "hardspl" ("hardeboot" since this is Samsung)? Omnia 7 should be hacking friendly, since there is JTAG port (should be) right below battery below the FCC sticker.
But this looks like there is something overheating inside... There is no proper cooling, it looks quite similar to HD2 and other Snapdragon SoC-ed chipsets. Usualy reflowing it with either hot air gun or (as some people do with GPUs) in oven could help, but for how long (I wouldn't risk the oven, this is way more sensitible part).

Please excuse my English. It's not my native language.
I've tried to change rom to my Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 so i've installed a Custom ROM called M.I.U.I v 1.5 that i've found in XDA
I've done all the instructions as they described them. It's not the first time I change ROM but not in this phone x). So the phone did not boot ( 1st screen befor SAMSUNG logo appears and don't change) whithout recovery.
I've tried to reinstall an official ROM with Odin 1.85 ( ROM references : CSC_S6102_OXXLG4.tar.md5 ; MODEM_S6102_XXLG3.tar.md5 and PDA_S6102_XXLG3.tar.md5) this time the phone reboots so i've factory reset. Now the phone dont reboot but the touch screen bugs ! when I touch the screen to configure android the phone don't respond. :/

Well,you can take a logcat of the 'Non-touch' problem to figure out the bug.Might be some issue with hardware.Did your phone fell in water or did it got dropped by you on the floor?

hello people ... greetings from panama, i have a problem with my samsung galaxy 2 grand duo sm-g7102, this phone comes from the factory with android 4.3, I decided to upgrade to 4.4.2 but firmware india, cell update well but a small mistake me frame and decided to reset it to factory mode and to configure again I no longer went out the Spanish language, but the two English language the united states and the united kingdom, I decided to use it in English all day but get tired and already had lowered the manufacturing version 4.3 for my panama country and when I connect to odin and decide to downgrade the program give me the part fail and the cell was shut down and would not turn over, is totally dead, does not enter download mode or recovery or when I connect it to the computer recognizes it or load current, do nothing, this useless, not if there is any solution for that as it is a new phone and do not know if there is some method to rescue, I hope someone here you can help to revive my phone .. I do not speak English but Spanish but I need a person skilled in the art that can help me solve the problem ... thanks and good day! ...!

Tell him phone got locked while upgrading through samsung kies..desktop got shutdown while upgrading

the problem is that since the cel no warranty and fix it only address some center I guess it is like that ... or maybe there is another solution I do not know ... but I hope that if q is somewhat difficult to see

the solution is to change your motherboard, i had the same issue but my cell was in warranty so they changed mine for free

I did not understand ... that's like sending your assembly to China ... so .. to what end ...?
