I am now having an issue with my usb connection, it keeps dropping off and randomly coming back. I installed cm7.0.3 over top cm7.1 to see if it was the newer cm7 build but i have the same problem. This is frustrating. My battery life is horrible and the usb being flaky at best and i just can not get this thing to work like everyone else has. Anyone able to tell my what i might be doing wrong??
Ended up being my usb cord was crap, got it replaced, Mods can delete this thread.

I have a problem, my phone is working absolutly beautiful exept for one BIG problem, when i connect my phone to de AC the screen gets disturb, gets all twisty and just like loosing signal in an old Tv; scrambled, and it zooms in and you cant do nothing with it; i have to soft reset to WM; THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN ANDROID;
IT STARTS WHEN I CONNECT MY PHONE TO CHARGE; WHEN I DISCONNECT IT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT GO IMMEDIATELY; i will like to fix this problem with this build because i really like it; if you havent tried it you should !
Try a different charger. You might not have a constant charge which freaks out yourphone.

alright; im booting android now to try another charger;
The charger is not causing the problem. The problem is only with android. I have notice that the phone charges and works via USB charging.
at least recommend me a good android build to try out; please.
tried with another android build ( MDJ Revolution HD) and the problem still persist; another observation is that the problem occurs with USB charging too;but only from my PC; with my MAC is charging and works good; EDIT: ISNT WORKING WITH MAC NEITHER! im going to change ROM and see what happens;
----------
MDJ Revolution HD lets you connect you PS3 by wifi Tether with stock ROM the PS3 didnt recognize the network; thats cool
well; i flashed another ROM (Energy.Leo.28244.Titanium.Dec.21) and still having the problem; if it makes it easier i can make a video to show you guys the problem; and i would like to know whats the best ROM for running Android?
-----------------
Another observation is that it does it when its no charging but not as bad; when not charging i just tuch and scroll the menus and that prevents the scrambling and zooming of the screen; Another observation is that when i plugged in fast to AC it gets scrambled; when i insert the plug slowly something called USB debugging turns on and it doent get scrambled rapidly; but in the morning it was all scrambled again.
Another observation; i captured a photo of the screen using an app from the phone; and the photos werent scrambled; im beggining to think that is a hardware problem but i dont know because it only happens in Android maybe a some resolution problem that makes the phone react like this?
Another observation is that it happens too without being connected but very little scrambling;
im going to hard reset my phone and format my SD card;
Hard reset; New ROM; Full formatting the SD card; and the problem still persist. Now it does it when the phone goes to sleep; charging or not; it does it anyway now.
i have updated the Radio to 2.12.50 and still have the problem, i know that theres no interaction with the radio and the screen; but i want to try everything.
come on ! theres a lot of geniuses here ! somebody most know whats wrong;
another observation; it a lot better with the brightness set to 100%. but i cant run with this because im always using my phone; so my battery will drain in less than 5 hours. it get scrambled when i connect it to any source of electricity;
Now runnign NAND and the problem still persist.
I'm having an issue with DL30 that I didn't have with any of the Eclair builds. I enable USB Debugging, and then later on in the day when I plug it in, I notice it has shut itself off.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this just something with Froyo, a bug with DL30 or am I f'ing it up?
Yes I'm experiencing this as well. Something called KiesUSBManager seems to be buggy but I can't figure out how to disable it. Are you using a Mac by chance?
I am running on mac and I am having this problem with PDAnet. I get about 2-3 mins and then I get the boot. Thought it was just me.
I'm an app developer and not having usb debugging available or constant was a serious problem so I had to abandon DL30 in favor of JT's AOSP, which is working pretty well now at least for my needs. I'd prefer DL30 style, but after all day searching I've found no solutions. It seems to be something a Mac user of the Galaxy Tab had with 2.2, so it might be some problem with whatever samsung kies service monitors the usb connection and how that communicates with the mac OS. OS X never tries to mount the SD card even once the USB debugging flips off, so I'm not sure what the problem is. This is the only place I've seen someone else complain about it, so I'm guessing most people are on PC's and don't have the issue or they don't use USB debugging so don't care or haven't noticed.
Hey guys,
So I loaded RubiX a while back and after getting everything all fancied up the way I wanted it my phone decided that it doesn't like when I touch it (touch-screen stopped responding, the hard keys still worked fine, but I have to serious hold screen-keys down to make anything happen).
I thought this problem was just something in the ROM that my phone didn't like, or a bad setting I changed, so I tried out Liberty ROM (which, by the way, is AWESOME). After getting everything completely made for the Liberty ROM, the exact same thing happened.
In a fit of frustration I decided to start from scratch, root and deodex, then load all my fun settings (like the de-throttle and imoseyon's memory changes) and it all started doing it again. Is there something I don't know about the way the screen works?
Another interesting fact: While I was trying to figure this problem out with my phone (stock with root/deodex and imoseyon's changes) I unplugged it from charging on my comp and now it's running pretty smoothly again... I've been having this problem all day, restarting and clearing cache / loading different ROMs and running restores didn't do anything... this is really strange!
Any idea what this is / has anyone experienced it before. I was just about to call Verizon and reset my phone to stock to get an exchange.
Try running a ROM stock and see what happens. Could be an app...
zehk,
I've tried every combination, including running to stock...
What I know now is that it only happens when phone is charging from a computer... The touchscreen goes completely brain-dead...
Any ideas?
I've had a problem when charging my phone from USB before. Someone said it was the drivers on my PC... might try a newer or older version depending on what you have.
That's an odd problem. Seeing how you have tried to troubleshoot your issue, trying the PC Drivers might indeed help as suggested by zehkaiser.
I would recommend downloading Motorola'as MotoConnect. It's the only driver I use for any Motorola device I hookup to my computer. You can download it here. Hope that helps and if not, sounds like you will have to do a .340 SBF with RSD Lite or the maderstcok zip 340 and return your phone for a new one.
nope
It's not the drivers either, I've now realized that it's happening when I plug into the wall too. I thought that might be due to using an old palm charger, since it's slighty higher amperage, but it turns out the standard moto charger still causes this problem...
My DX does exactly the same thing after unplugging. Any ideas?
Hey guys, I've been having this problem since the Froyo days; and that is even though I have default gingerbread with Black hat rooted .596 When I have plug in the usb in charge only mode, it still connects to my sdcard...
Is there a way to make this work?

so, you've had this problem on multiple roms, froyo and GB? that sounds odd. have you tried sbf? maybe damaged charge port or usb cable? idk. sorry
Yes, this has been a problem with froyo (both default & Roms) as well as gingerbread (default only so far) The wierd thing is that on this new .596 rooted (had to sbf for it) it doesnt work, but on an earlier leaked version it worked like a charm so I don't know what's going on.
I had this problem too; in my case it turned out to be winamp for android. It has a setting to mount the SD card regardless of your settings, and it (at least at the time I installed it) was on by default. Drove me up a wall until I happened across it in winamp's settings. Do you by any chance have winamp for android installed?
Yes I do have winamp! Ill have to try this
Okay so im a little paranoid i took off my back cover to try to fix my charging issue, which works now, i don't think I messed up anything back there, but I show full signal on my phone with data, and it just doesn't want to load everything like usual. weirdly it loads Google sites very fast, but other than that its slow, like painfully slow, and wont load some pages at all, it plays pandora but takes a bit to load.
Could I have screwed a wire up or something or if I did that at all would the data stop working all together? I honestly don't think its a hardware issue since some stuff is loading, I am hoping network issues...
I was on cm 10.1 with a .33 radio but i restored my stock backup and reflashed .48.
Any input would be very helpful and appreciated.
I find it weird that im only loading google pages
made it connect to 2g only and back to 4g and now everything is fine...
Sorry you got no help from the forum but you learned something today (and you solved the problem rather quickly, I see).
Sometime charging issues can be resolved if you connect the LG supplied USB cable into a computer (make sure you use a powered USB connector) and let is sit for a few hours.
