So apparntly I'm the only person in the world whos wifi doesnt work on any builds of ICS. I'v searched everywhere and theres not one thread about it....anyone have any ideas? wifi works fine on honeycomb.
i can't help you here cause I havnt installed ics yet but this is just a thought.... did you try one of these two things yet to solve the problem?
1. Do a full wipe before you flashed the rom?
2. Have you tried re-downloading the rom zip cause it may have been corrupted somehow during the download?
Maybe this has helped, if not maybe your Xoom maybe faulty?
Ether way good luck & hope you solve this wifi problem out mate

I had the same problem, you have to do a full wipe AND wipe the cache and dalvik and reflash the rom. That fixed it for me.

Yeah. You need to do a factory reset. Make sure you back up /mnt/sdcard because it erases everything.

Did you restore system apps or system data after the wipe you had to do? This would mess up your wifi as well as email, probably. Just reflash the nightly and the gapps and wipe cache and dalvik cache and you should be good to go on reboot.

If you read that post carefully you would
know that dalvik cache is different from cache!!
If that doesn't wipe data..
Last option is to reflash!!

It happened for me also at first.but when I changed my apn it works fine now.

It doesn't seems to be working. You can ping every existing server, but you can't send or receive any other packet. After download 1-4MB you can only send ping and (if you're lucky) use google talk.
mur4ik help please
This happens to me sometimes, but I thought it was my networks fault.
Try contacting your network too see if there is any problems?

well mostly all the bugs!
You can't imagine how many times I did reflash, wipe (dalvik included), different kdz instalation. Nothing helped.
Do you try with other 2.3.7 Rom ?

What do you mean? I've downloaded my rom from these thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=927379
and tried to flash with installer from modaco.
i have the same problem with this rom. The apn connection is fine but whenever i connect to wifi i have to reboot my phone for it to transfer data but after awhile it stop again and i have to reboot again.
im using v6 supercharger update 8.
maybe this one is the cause??????

I didn't see much negative effects made by the V6 Supercharger than the KA Kernelizer Tweak (which completely destroyed my phone ).
if a reflash or wipe doesn't solve the bugs
then i think it is a hardware problem!!
quickly get a warranty before they run out of stock
as they are not selling GT540 anymore!!
i've reflashed back to rc3 and everything work fine but when i flash rc5 i got the same problem again.
Wonder what i did wrong???
And i even flash back to rom 2.1 (with kdz and it really scare me) and connection is really fast so i dont think it s because of the hardware

then i think it might be the system partitions that are
creating this problem..
but i don't know to much about partitions..
I was running cm7 since it was first released. I got a new phone so i decided to give my atrix to my younger brother. The problem is after i went through the process of putting the phone back to stock, there now seems to be dead zones on the phone. For example i cannot press the w,e,s, keys. Can anyone help me or tell me if i've done something wrong?
I'm not sure you did anything wrong specifically. Did you make sure the clear all the cache? How did you put stock back on it (IE. flashed stock via CWM, moto fastboot, etc)?.
Boot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache, system cache, reflash your firmware of choice, reboot.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Ive had numerous problems with cm7 for atrix but ive found that backup everything you need with titanium backup and then just reflash the rom and wipe the data and davlik cache and it should. But yh there are lots of issues with the cm7 rom for atrix but its still in beta so dont worry too much it will be ok when there are more updates

The CM7 beta does not have the issues that the OP described so please don't let him think that's the reason.
OP, re-flash your phone with a different ROM or with CM7 again and see if it still persists.
I currently have Oxygen installed and it crashes around every few hours, plus drains battery like hell. I was told by people that proper Oxygen is nothing like that..
They told me to flash the thing again, but.. can I flash the ROM again to make it more stable without wiping the data? It's the same ROM, so that should not cause more problems yes?
Thanks.
Yes you can, but it may not do any good. Try to wipe cache and dalvik cahce, no data loss there...
Thanks. Will do right now.

Hey, how did it go? Unfortunately it is too late for me, cause I already wiped+flashed, but I wonder if you can do it without wiping.
Yes you can. I did it a few times with various ROMs.. Oxygen and Aurora ICS... works fine.. but in my case it did not fix the crashing Oxygen issue... I had to change to ICS.
Have had the 120617 stable ics installed for several weeks now with great result and no issue. This afternoon my wifi stopped working.the blue fan at the top is now grey as is the signal bar. When I turn off wifi 3G works fine. I have reset router and rebooted phone. Wifi is ok on other devices.
Any recommendations ? Thanks

Choice A: Don't do anything and wait a day.
Choice B: Click Forget network, and try to connect again.
Choice C: Wipe data cache and dalvik
Choice D: Try a new ROM. that Rom you're using is extremely old.

I found it to be the most stable. If there is a more recent version that is stable then I'd happily update to that. Ics or jb

I have now tried A,B and C with no luck. Which ROM would you now recommend ? Would prefer something that does not mean I have to wipe everything and reinstall apps etc, rather just an upgrade, cheers
You could upgrade to a newer cm9 nightly or a ROM like Moto Ice Gun or Defy+++ because I think you only have to wipe cache + dalvik (no data wipe).
I would recommend cm10 or paranoidandroid.
You know that if you log into Google account right after first boot, it will automatically restore all your market apps?

Sometimes happened to me the same.
Do this: delete (if you want you can backup it before for taking the passwords) the following file (you'll need root permissions) /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Reboot.
It should work.
You may even try to revert your previous wpa_supplicant.conf, and see if it works or not. Sometimes it does some other it doesn't.
Bye,
Peppe
I've just installed CyanogenMod 10 on my motorola defy plus using this guide but im having one problem so far:
repeated annoying message: "Unfortunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped"
I cant use the keyboard
Any advice? I am doing something wrong or is it a common bug? How it can be solved?

I had the same problem when I tried Kayant's Slim Bean ROM.
Try clearing cache / dalvik. If it doesn't work, Wipe Data and reflash.
When it still didn't work for me, I moved to another ROM, which solved the issue.
Solved
I Just solved this issue by installing JellyX Kernel Now I have some other problems to solve but thanks for the reply
I related this problem due to using the 4.2 Gapps on 4.1.2
The solution is even simpler:
Go into menu/system/apps and find Android Keyboard (ASOP) and CLEAR DATA. Then do the same for Dictionary Provider and CLEAR DATA.
Wow, good timing...

Thanks for the advice although I can't seem to find the Dictionary Provider app on my ROM. (I'm using Paranoid Android as a custom ROM)
I tried everything, wiping data on phone, wiping cache and dalvik, and clearing data on the keyboard itself. Any help?
I can't do basic tasks like wifi password and such.
EDIT: btw, im using a rogers s3 on cm10 4.1.2

Mate, have the same problem at the moment trying to work my way thru it, I installed 4.2 gapps by mistake.
ended up install hackers keyboard to allow me to get a keyboard up (google for hackers apk).
then set hackers keyboard as the primary input
Used file manager with root access to delete all the latinime apks.(system\apps)
interestingly. pretty sure, after reinstalling gapps the latinime didnt install :|
so phone broken ATM, still.
ps just tried to flash twrp 2.11 in a bid to get some wipe function going to system partition... now no recovery - going to be a long day I can tell.
