[Q] - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I installed Nand Android on my HD2
I loved it and still do but since last few days I am having an unresponsive touchscreen problem.
The problem occurs only when the screen is locked and i try to unlock it. i haven't setup any password or pattern to unlock the phone..its just the standard unlocking.
Well i generally have habit to press the green button to activate the screen and then i unlock the phone by sliding the slider. But now it doesn't work infact out of the four hardware buttons it only works with the HOME button and that also rarely.
It is definitely not the hardware problem because once i unlock it, there is no problem whatsoever with the touchscreen.
SO i was wondering if anybody has the same issue and might have figured it out.
Thanks for your time!!same problem when i go back to windows

There's a lack of sense in your reasoning in my opinion. The lockscreen is on occasion fine when you use a different hardware button to the rest. As well as this, the problem persists when you go to WinMo. Both of these point towards hardware failure.

Key lock doesnt work on HD2 !!!

How to lock all buttons except Power button on HD2 ? (When the screen is off)
I have tried the suggestions from here but it just doesnt work...
Does anyone know a solution for this ?
Key Lock Cab Does not Work on HD2
Would also like to know if anyone found a solution on how to lock all keys on the HD2 except for the Power (end) Key.
Thank you
Key lock; any key power on
Me three. No one else seems too bothered

Not got my HD2 yet so not had a chance to play around, Coming tomorrow at
last.
Anyone tried this: S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2) http://www.ac-s2.com
I have been using it on my Gsmart T600 and I love it, Great little lock app
and one app I will be trying out on the HD2 tomorrow.

Or PocketShield, for that matter - keeps screen from coming on when buttons are accidentally touched: http://forums.jdbp.mobi/download.htm
Last time I looked it was $7.00 US or there abouts.
I have the same problem of locking and unlocking
use a headset to answer a call completely unlocks the screen, and conversations are interrupted, it is unacceptable .... Managing lock unlock the screen to review by HTC. For information, the HD1 does not have all these problems!
And whats the solution now? (exept using pocketshield).
I must say it is a shame that HTC is not including a full working lock-app for such a device with recessed hardwarekeys before selling it. This is the first thing a designer should think off !! If such keys could be accidently pressed it is a must to provide a softwaresolution.
Is it a bug or a feature?
Can proximity sensor use to solve this problem. When HD2 in my pocket proximity sensor prevent to accidental unlock, like phone conversation.

Touch screen not responding

When my HD2 returns from standby (switched on by the right hand button) the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive. At first this just seemed like a short delay so I ignored it but this week it has refused to allow me to unlock it. The screen seems to be frozen.
I have tried turning the HD2 of and on - not completely off as I can't get to this function without being able to use the screen - and if I do this enough the screen will suddenly become responsive. The problem even survives a soft reset.
Yesterday, I decided to do a hard reset thinking I have done one reg tweak too many. After that the screen seemed fine and I could return the HD2 from stand by okay by sliding the 'lock' button. This morning the problem has reappeared and I again find that the screen will not respond to touch but then suddenly seems to work.
Anyone had the same problem or have any suggestions?
Thanks
I have the same problem as you on my brand new HD2. Did you allread have a solution for that?
folks, do report your issues here .. i have a feeling that this is a known hardware issue by HTC and they are just keeping veru quiet about this.

Unlock slider gets stuck? Any ideas

Hi,
I've loaded touchlockpro onto my phone to try and cure the proximity sensor intermittently not locking the screen during a call. This seems to work well.
One problem seems to be that intermittently I can't unlock the phone. I'm fine using the normal screen swipe- but occasional it sticks.
When it sticks the touchlockpro application icon (Clock and Batt) is highlighted white and never turn black allowing the unlock.
When it works fine the touchlockpro icon is white for a short while, then it turns black after a second, then I can unlock.
I don't seem to be able to use the touchlockpro keys (Vol Up, Vol Down) to unlock the phone.
Is this a Windows Mobile problem or app problem? Any ideas?
FYI- once it's stuck locked, I can only unlock by either taking the battery out or calling the phone.
Help.
I'd have to say this is a Windows issue since I've had it a few times and I don't have touchlockpro.
I'm guessing it's not too widespread or doesn't happen to most people that often as I don't recall seeing a post about it on here.
If you get it quite a lot then I suppose the software could be making the issue worse. Do you remember if you had this problem before installing it?
I think the issue was there before, but it's my wifes phone so I can't be 100% certain.
Seems like it gets stuck. is there any other way to lock/ unlock i.e. not using the screen slider

You can turn the slider off, using BsB Tweaks, but that obviously has it's own set of issues (switching the phone on by accident etc..)

...and screen can only be used with the pen? This is a problem i have.
Just switching ist off and on fixes the problem (i have not to reboot).
Seems to be a software problem.
No the screen works well its only the buttons
Absolutely no problems to report with mine???
Yes I am having this same problem as the poster described (back and menu buttons switch off)
Specifically happens after a phone call
Happens to my brothers phone as well and both phones are sourced from different suppliers
Think a software update may fix this? or should i send it back and buy another one?
Thanks
Pretty widespread problem it seems:

I tend to believe it's software-based though

Windows button not always responding?

Hello! Just bought an Optimus 7! Really good phone for the price!
But i got one problem! When im going to turn on the phone with the windows button its sometimes not responding!
Somebody else got this problem?
Yes. Happens to me all the time, but I always use the power button to turn on the screen so it doesn't bother me that much...
Sounds like a known issue.

Same here. It must be a software bug because the button is always working when the phone is unlocked.
If you still hold for a while it works
One reason for the screen not turning on is that you may be blocking the proximity sensor at the top left of the phone. The reason behind that is probably to avoid turning on the screen when the phone is e.g. in a pocket.
for me the start button for screen unlock always works, but many times screen is unlocked and all black, the systems listen to the touch input but doesnt show nothing at all....it happens very often usually when the phone is hot...
