I thought I would start a thread about new changes to s memo with the latest firmware that came out ota today:
export to pdf (it exports to sd card only as far as I can tell so far)
sync with evernote-----it sets up a s memo notebook in your evernote and recognizes folders in s memo as subfolders (it did not do one of my folders though). ALSO---two way sync!!! The sync with htc flyer to evernote is one way. This is two. I synced all to evernote and then deleted a note in evernote. When I synced all again in s memo--that memo was deleted.
I am very excited about these changes and hope you all can help find more. I am also more optimistic that s memo might continue to improve. The ability to jot notes for reminders, to dos etc was my main reason for getting the note.
I might have been mistaken on the two way sync with evernote--getting different results as I experiment.
It seems like deletes do not sync in either direction but that additions or changes do sync?????
Also, does the S Memo allow to note only upto one page ?
No scrolling / multi page notes ?
Or does the update fix that ?

I need some help. I've had my phone for almost 2 weeks. Beginning a couple of days ago, my phone is erasing google calendar entries.
What's particularly strange is that when I enter google calendar entries into the phone, the entries sync with my google account. The entries remain visible on the google account, but are not visible on the phone.
If I enter the calendar entry on google directly, it will appear and remain on my phone. So the problem is strictly with google calendar entries entered on the phone. They sync and then disappear.
I'm having this problem as well, but only for one of my secondary google calendars. Very frustrating. I'm thinking that using stock calendar might fix this...
FYI I just took a look at mine... calendar entries created on the web but edited on the phone do not seem to be affected. Can you confirm?
I too am having a similar problem (I use Google Calendar on the desktop, and my Vibrant calendar is synced to Gcal as well). I haven't had time to test out all the permutations, but the basic issue is: when I "Edit" a repeating event on the phone, and then hit "Save," the event disappears instantly (from both the phone's calendar and desktop Gcal). It doesn't matter whether I actually made any changes while editing -- it's just the Edit and Save that does it.
Once or twice, the event has magically reappeared a little while later -- but generally it does not.
I have also had the opposite thing happen: I've edited a repeating event and ended up with a DUPLICATE event (also repeating) on the calendar -- same event, same details, just one day earlier than the "real" event (which is still there).
Don't know if this detail is significant (again, I haven't tested rigorously), but it has been YEARLY repeating events (birthdays) which have been duplicated, and MONTHLY repeating events which have been deleted.
The only "solution" I've arrived at is to only edit events (or at least repeating ones) from the desktop, and not the phone (...and hope this bug is fixed in an update?).
(By the way, all my events have been created on desktop Gcal directly; so I can't speak to how creating events on the phone may play into this.)
One thing that's actually worked for me is to rename the calendar my phone kicks out. I've found that when I do that, things magically reappear. Currently, I'm on #4.

Interesting, thanks -- can you elaborate? (I went to Calendar settings, but can't figure out how to change names -- there's just "My Calendar," which I don't use, and the Google calendar.)
Yup -- I actually changed the name in the desktop/web client, not on the phone. It took a bit for the updated calendar to push to the phone, but once it did, everything was peachy again.

tried this and no fixy...
Does anyone else have the same problem I'm having? You "Edit" a repeating Gcal event on the phone, and it just disappears (from both phone and desktop) when you hit Save? (Even if you made no changes?)
I'm sure everyone's probably aware of this, but you never know (it took me a week to figure it out)...
The Samsung Calendar defaults to "My Calendar" and not your Google Calendar like every other Android phone, so that any new event created is created in "My Calendar" unless you select to create the event in your Google calendar every single time you make a new event. This can not be changed and is the case EVEN IF THE CALENDAR IS SET TO NOT DISPLAY "MY CALENDAR." (which is, possibly, the worst case of software design I can think of in recent memory).
There is an easy fix for this: use pretty much any other of the many free or inexpensive calendar apps. The Samsung Calendar blows. And this is coming froma guy that generally likes most of the other Touchwiz stuff.
I assume other calendar apps will sync easy with Gcal (it's just ActiveSync, right)? Any in particular you recommend? Thanx
I've been using Gemini Calendar for a few weeks. Takes some getting used to and it kinda ugly, but it's got plenty of customizations.
Having upgraded from an older HTC that ran the same version of windows software I was disappointed to find that when adding a new calendar entry that the categories are not updated in line with the ones on the PC it was synced with. You cant even add new categories on the phone which would have at least helped.
Has anyone found a way round this..?
Anyone....?
I found that if you use the calendar option under Outlook then the have the categories as before. It's only if you use the link from the front screen that your options are limited.
For some reason, Samsung excluded the "Tasks" app that is on the Galaxy S II. I use Outlook tasks that are synched via the Tasks app to my SGS II but I was surprised to see it missing on the GT 7.7
I tried installing it from a Titanium Backup of my GS II but no luck -- perhaps there is a way to do it via a File Manager but I would need to know exactly which files to copy and where they go.
I own a copy of Touchdown for Tablets (from my very brief time with a Xoom last year) but I like the stock Email and Calendar apps from Samsung for Exchange mail/calendar and would like the Sammy Tasks app!
Look forward to someone else figuring this out!

Could not get it set up with my Exchange Account

Personally, I prefer not to be tied down to any specific platform, so I use Remember The Milk.
They have an app for almost any platform - including Android and a plugin for Outlook called MilkSync. I think that might help in your case too
But I have to say - it's not free!
You can use it for free, but with some limitations - one of which is that the MilkSync plugin isn't available.
(I still don't have enough posts to add the external links, but it's easy to find - just search for "Remember The Milk")
^ I'm not a Google Apps kinda guy - I use Exchange for all my cloud data (email, contacts, calendar, tasks). The only thing I've left behind is notes, only because there's really no Exchange notes sync app for Android (again other than Touchdown which I would prefer not to use) so I'm using Evernote there which is fine.
For those of you experiencing some consternation regarding syncing your S-Notes with Evernote or Google Docs, here is some insight.
If you have attempted to do this, you will see that the .snb file which is your S-Notes file will appear in Evernote and Google Docs as an attachment. You cannot view the contents of this attachment nor can you launch your S-Notes app from Evernote or Google Docs to view the attachment.
So, you may ask yourself, what's the point?
Well, the point is that although neither of these apps can read an S-Note file, they both do provide a garage of sorts in which to park them. By syncing with your Evernote or Google Docs account, any device which has S-Note on it will be able to load all of the notes from your other device. You cannot open them directly from within Evernote or Google Docs but syncing them does make them show up.
So, to summarize. Yes, syncing your S-Notes is helpful in that it provides you common area in which to store your notes which devices using S-Notes can access through syncing.
Hope that was helpful.
P.S., From what I can tell, if you delete a note on your SGN10.1 and perform a syncing operation, the deleted note is NOT also deleted from Evernote or Google Docs. This means that if you delete notes then perform a Syncing operation, your deleted notes will re-appear if they have been synced previously. Swell, right?
To test this. Create a new note, sync it then delete the note. If you then sync again the note you have deleted re-appears.
The only way to permanently delete notes is to go to Evernote or Google Docs and delete them manually.
If I am wrong about this, someone please let me know. I don't claim to be an expert, simply passing along my observations.
If you do want your notes to appear in Evernote / Google Docs where you can actually see them, you can share individual notes as .pdf files with Evernote / Google Docs. However, any other device syncing with Evernote / Google Docs will only load the .snb files into their S-Notes program. So, if you want to share notes through syncing, you must sync the .snb file also. This can be done by either syncing or directly sharing.
Evernote is a MESS.
The more I look at the Android Evernote app the more I realize it is NOT ready for primetime. How the heck does something like this get released to the public?
Problems:
1) There is no option to choose which client controls the content. For instance, should the contributing client control the content and delete any notes from Evernote which no longer exist on it, or should Evernote control the content and even if the contributing client has deleted files, return those to the client? The second method is how Evernote does it. The PROBLEM with this is deleting notes from S-Notes is pointless since Evernote will just return them when you sync your account. There should be an option in Evernote that says, if the contributing client no longer has a file, delete it here as well or, keep the file here but do not sync that file back to the contributing client. Major fail here.
2) There is no way to delete folders from the Android Evernote app. You can only delete individual files which can take quite a while. Again, huge fail.
3) In the Evernote viewing panel, the thumbnails at the bottom will show the user the contents of a .pdf file; however, the viewing screen itself is blank. The only way you can view the note is to open the attached .pdf in a pdf viewer. Why the heck would they have the viewing pain if it does NOTHING? If the ca show the file contents in the thumbnail, why not the viewing pain? Mind blowing fail.
Ok, the heck with Evernote and Google Docs.

Update on S-notes to Evernote
Bumping this old thread. OK, the latest update to JB now allows converting the S-note with four options prior to sharing with evernote. Now you it will be sent as a jpg, pdf, snb (s note file), or text only. If I choose the pdf option to share with evernot it is sent as an attachment. If sent as text only it will appear in the body of the evernote as written text. This helps stream line the evernote integration, but not a real sync as with in S-notes.

I'm new to this forum, what is JB? I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition and I'm trying to figure out how to view my s notes that are synced with evernote on my windows 7 computer. They are automatically synced in the s note format and I can't find a program that will let me view the s notes, other than the fuzzy preview evernote gives. If I could tell it to sync as a pdf that would be incredibly helpful.

Hi,
I think you'd get better answers here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014
I am using a Galaxy Note 10.1 (Gnabo rom) and a Galaxy Note 4. For whatever reason, I found that the Samsung sync process would not sync up the S-Note folders between the two devices. Seems like the Gnabo rom is missing that ability. So I switched to syncing through Evernote. This seems to work to a point. But all the notes go to .Incoming. Ideally I'd like to be able to designate a specific notebook for S-Notes.
A second issue is related to tags. There is a tags feature but it does not seem to synchronize to Evernote. And the second issue with that is, I can't seem to edit the tags on the Note 4. The tablet has a settings gear icon at the bottom of the note edit page that allows editing tags. This is missing from the Note 4. The top of the view page for each note has a tag icon and it shows assigned tags. But it seems to be read only.
So, questions are:
1. Can I have S-Notes sync through a designated folder?
2. Is there a way to synchronize tags?
3. How do I add tags on the Note 4?
