Hdr Mode VS Night Mode ?

Hai.I tested Galaxy S4 camera's feature. Now I wanna ask between this two mode.I notice that hdr mode take much better pictures at night time than Night mode. Please explain....
Sent From S4
From my experience HDR mode takes extremely noisy pictures at night, while Night Modes takes brighter and heavily filtered pictures that smooth out the noise. I definitely prefer the latter.
I'll have to say, HDR is not intended for night photos. There is a reason why the feature got included. And I do agree that HDR has a lot of more noise that night mode shots
Quite to my surprise this is the case with my Xiaomi Mi Max too. Good to see it's same with someone else. Hardly any noise compared to night mode(hht In miui) and believe me hht is useless once you see hdr. Brighter and noise free. I just think it works differently with different hardware or software but I am happy to click noise free pics at night. And all the best to you too.
Pixel has the same case. Read here

Low light camera mode

hey pple i dont know where to post this thread
anyway i used to have sgs3
it had a low light mode and it was ultra smooth and good for me.
but when i bought note 3 i didnt find this low light mode
also the smart stabilization for low light mode is **** makes the screen looks like reddish .
is there any modes to port s3 low light mode to our note 3 ?
Actually, smart stabilization IS the night mode.

And it work fine for me although you have to be steadier when holding the N3 because it's more sensitive to shaking. I've also not noticed any change in color reproduction with Smart Stabilization off or on.
This was taken with Smart Stabilization (and the lighting's green in real life).
Yes, I actually find it good when shooting in low lights without flash.
Yes, they renamed night shot - smart stabilization, sort off. For proper color you can go to white balance menu and try to match type of illumination there, even dedicated DSLR's have sometimes problems with white balance under artificial light and low light shooting is always a crap shot, sometimes you get it right most of the time you won't. I also have GS3 and it's camera is pretty good, Note 3 is maybe little better but not by much, so don't expect Canon 5D quality here. Note 3 has some new modes like HDR , best photo or eraser, see if any of those have any use.

Front camera in bad light.

A while ago i noticed that when there is good light the front camera is smooth and the vids recorded are okay, but when the light is bad the front camera become quite laggy and the vids recorded are in really bad quality. Is there a way to fix this? Becouse it is really annoying. Apprecitate all the help.
I'm on P8 Lite ALE-L21 B574.
It probably does picture enhancing in real time, so the image looks better. You get better quality but low fps...

Google Pixel - Night Video Test - 1080p60FPS

Hey everyone,
Here's my night time video test using the Google Pixel: https://youtu.be/8Jw9FUB28a0
It's not great when there isn't lighting. With bright artificial lighting the night looks much better. The camera seems to repeatedly focus which can be annoying. Maybe that's because of the fast moving objects?
Let me know what you think.

This is my main and only complaint about the pixel, low light video recording. It is horrible. I'm hoping it is a software issue that can be fixed, but I'm lead to believe it's most likely a hardware issue. The camera can't keep focused for more than a few seconds, everything is always blurry and extremely noisy. It makes no sense because the camera takes amazing pictures and is top notch so why should the video recording quality not be the same???
I have to agree. My Pixel XL is awful in low light, with lots of noise. But the daytime shots are incredible.

About the camera

I watched so many reviews on this device, I bought a 64GB variant. Camera is so average even on daylight, Front camera is straight rubbish in medium - low light conditions. G cam don't fix this either. Is it me or every device has this problem?

Yes, camera is bad in low light conditions, take a closer look at details on picture taken at night.
I don't really know about you guys, but mine is just straight up awesome. I was on a 7 day trip in Vienna with a friend of mine, made a bunch of photos, in maximum sun light conditions, medium light conditions, low light conditions, and the photos weren't bad at all. My friend actually picked a photo from my phone to upload on his instagram. (gotta add that he currently owns an iPhone XS Max)
The main camera is top notch, the wide and tele have terrible color depth, lens flares, purple fringing, noise.
GCam fixes those pretty well though.

The main camera has a competent sensor on paper, but in real life, even with gcam improvements, the results are far from stellar as the image lacks a little bit on fine detail, maybe due not good quality optics.
Of course, the front camera has difficulties in medium - low light but I think not more or less than many other devices.
This gcam version is specifically suited for low light conditions.

And for a more general purpose I would try this one:
