Just bought new ThinkPad Tablet (32GB/3G/keyboard case). Was surprised not to find native YouTube app.
Web version of the Market says it's not compatible with my device.
And it's not the region - the app is available on my Nexus One.
Any idea why?

under settings and about - what is the Build Number?
does it say US on the end or something else?

I think it's beacause the YouTube App in the Market is for Smartphones only.
Here's the YouTube Tablet apk that somebody pulled from the US-ROM of the TPT.
Copy it to your SD-Card and install it with a file manager of your choice (I use File Manager HD)

Your build is ROW, Rest Of the World. YouTube doesn't come on that build.
Hmmm Interesting. I wonder what that version has (or not) compared to the US version.

The Market youtube has nothing to do with smart phone only or tablet only.
I am currently using a downloaded copy of youtube from the market.
The reason why you cannot download youtube from market is because of the region setting of your tablet. Your table has the code ROW behind it (rest of world) as mentioned already by mandrsn1
youtube is a us version thing... you can compare the updates themselves if you like here

Ok, so I've got my invite and I'm signed up (In the UK - Used a proxy) but when I click the link to get the app update it says it's not compatible with my device on the web market and it does not exist on the android market.
Can anyone give me the apk file as using music.google.com is not an optimal experience on the transfomer.

How is the stock experience for this tab? I want to be able to get the latest market movie rentals to show. I heard this is not allowed when rooted. Any alternatives? Does netflix work?

Stock experience is, IMHO - pretty damn good. Some people have reported issues with the GPS, microphone, and low wifi signal strength.
I have had none of these problems. My tab is running 3.1, rooted, with cwm installed - market movie rentals work fine.
Netflix is not officially supported yet - but as of a few days ago the awesome XDA community managed to release a patch that allows Netflix to work. You will need to be rooted.
wouldyou mind explaining how to use the patch for netflix?

That's weird. It should be in the app tray. If you're just not bored enough to go looking for it there, just type it into the Google Search bar on the top left-hand corner of the screen. It searches through your apps as well.

I'm currently using a Xoom WiFi running on Honeycomb 3.2, and it's been running fine ever since I bought it. If it's not a big problem (although I expect it to be), I'd recommend trying a factory reset.
Seriously though, try that only if the app was there from the day you bought it, and disappeared later. Alternatively, you could try updating your firmware, though I doubt that would help as much.
We don't have movie studio on UK 3G ones, only the wifi ones (cause moto kept the same US firm on them.

Both versions in India come with the Movie Studio App.
These 2 files are from my US Wifi Xoom. You can try pushing them to system>app using root explorer or some other method. Not sure if it will work, but you can give it a try.
Note: You must rename VideoEditorGoogle.odex.apk -> VideoEditorGoogle.odex
XDA just doesn't allow me to attach odex files regularly.

The phone version of samsung remote is working, but it do not use the hole screen.

sorry for that. I had tried downloading on the Xoom. i tried different browsers and always got an error. downloaded fine on the pc.
I have downloaded the Samsung remote tab(yes not the phone version) on my sgs i9000 made a backup thru titanium backup and transferred to xoom but it does not install what is the problem?

It would seem that it does. I just grabbed the update for Google Maps and before the update started, the EULA for the Market popped up. I didn't see any visible changes before I exited though.
EDIT: sorry, looks like the update I got was to 3.3.11
I tried it and it wont install. Im not rooted but I dont think that has anything to do with it.

working on my rooted transformer no problems.
Works here too (rooted). In landscape mode it shows bars on each side.
Did you uncheck Unknown sources in Settings Applications?
im guessing its the phone version of the market judging by the black borders as opposed to the tablet version.

You don't need to install it, just move the apk to /system/app (the name should be vending.apk).
Edit: don't forget to set the correct permissions and clear market data in Settings > Applications > All
I got the "new market" a coule weeks ago as an automatic update? and I have to say its SHIIIIT :S
Why did they change the tablet versio? the market it came with was perfect?
I agree, the previous version was much better. Now it's loading for ages and is really more for phones than tablets.
I am now in v3.3.11, and the market is really faster !
I drop down from 10s to 1s to show any page in this new version !

Google had quite some issus with the performance on market .. i've experienced many outdated infos on my app-statistics.
At the moment it seems to be fixed .. but they have some translation issues right in the developer-pages .. whatever - nothing neckbreaking ;-)

They even removed the charts for a while because they were showing huge (really huge) drops in most applications (even the most popular ones). Charts are OK now, but installs in developer panel are still much off I think (they show different values than the charts and they doesn't seem to update - or maybe my apps are so unpopular, haha).
All this said I think it's not releated to the slow market application. It should be managed by different servers.
I've been using the 3.3.12 version because I wanted the music stuff that wasn't in .11 and I'm very happy with that version. I know I found it here on XDA by using the search function.
