can hulu work with new flash player 11 - Droid X General

Anyway to get hulu working with the current flash player on the market? I used to have 10.3 and libflash file and that worked great but I lost that somehow.

Hello, I know somebody knows what to do. The first time I did it I got everything from here. If I remember correctly:
Install flash 10.3
Extract libflashplayer
Copy libflash
Paste over com.adobe flash player
Done.
If this rings a bell jump in help me out, thanks.

TCPMP v0.72RC1 recompiled with working youtube now - I did it!

Hi all,
I've been trying to figure out what the problem with TCPMP and youtube was for a while and finally got it.
For those that don't know, the way PIE works with TCPMP is that PIE creates a video.m3u file inside \PROGRAM FILES\TCPMP which TCPMP then opens. video.m3u contains the URL of the FLV file that you pull off from youtube... (m3u files are simply playlists)
Since youtube changed the format of its URL, it has gotten significantly longer.
TCPMP has a hard limit of 256 bytes (characters) on the URL. So, what happens with the new URL is that it often exceeds the 256 byte limit, and TCPMP will only read it UP TO the 256 byte. Anything after 256 bytes is LOST and that's why you get "could not open URL"
Example:
Youtube video of half life live action thingee:
Code:
http://v15.lscache4.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag&itag=5&ipbits=0&sver=3&expire=1243450800&key=yt1&signature=0FD79ABE8B1527FBDCCA117F163434544DD5226F.412B317466B85C5F1DEC05B615B47F264F845325&id=ab550f304982a99a
Length = 263, I get the error. Can't play video.
same video, but instead, I edited the video.m3u file and manually resolved the domain name (v15.lscache4.googlevideo.com = 74.125.167.35)
Code:
http://74.125.167.35/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag&itag=5&ipbits=0&sver=3&expire=1243450800&key=yt1&signature=0FD79ABE8B1527FBDCCA117F163434544DD5226F.412B317466B85C5F1DEC05B615B47F264F845325&id=ab550f304982a99a
Length=248 and the video plays
I've found the solution!!!!!!
For those interested, here is the version that I used:
TCPMP new VS2008 builds for WM6.1 with FLV built in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380387
I took that source, opened it in Visual Studio 2008 (freaking 3GB download from MS!!) and started snooping around.
Modified the following files:
interface/win32/playlst.c -> replaced all values of '256' with '1024'
interface/win32/win_win32.c -> replaced all values of '256' with '1024' (except the one that says 256*1024... on my source, it's line 2598)
common/portab.h -> replace MAXPATH 256 with MAXPATH 1024 (line 260)
The resulting files are now here! -
http://rapidshare.com/files/237840222/tcpmp-0.72rc1-fixed-youtube-05-27-2009-invar.rar
The bad news is this:
- I have no idea how to put stuff into a self install CAB, so the file I uploaded to rapidsdhare is ONLY the three files that were necessary. You MUST install a CAB version of 0.72RC1 from elsewhere (preferably the same version in this thread that was posted.)
- Also, the version of 0.72 RC1 I used does NOT install the PIE videoloader.dll (aka flashvideobundle), so if you completely uninstalled any preexisting version of TCPMP and installed the one posted here, you MUST reinstall flashvideobundle which is not really a problem, just an extra step. Here's a link for it! (google for 'flashvideobundle 1.4.4' if the link dies... there are plenty of sites)
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Video/FlashVideoBundle-64991.shtml
Anyway, if someone knows how to package this into a CAB or something, feel free to go ahead and do it and then post it. It appears to be working great so far, and I hope I didn't screw anything up.
Feedback appreciated, and enjoy nice high quality FLV youtube once again!
edit: There is now a nice CAB version available here that has incorporated my changes!

All you have to do is install the CAB version posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380387
And then from my file, extract those files to \program files\tcpmp and overwrite.
That's it!
Oh, and you need the flashvideobundle.
edit: there's also a CAB version that incorporates my changes, available here now!

Could you do your magic but using the subtitle plugin source to build the common.dll and interface.plg?
That plugin works in a very non optimal way (using those files is not the best idea... still it's the only subtitle plugin available). To test it notice the plugin only works in GDI video mode.
i figured it out. give this a shot. don't hold me responsible!
www.crimetank.com/misc/tcpmp-subtitle.rar
link is no good - cant access it for some reason =/
but its coo i just overwrite files
ok, it said failed to find pie - the videoloader.dll error
it also said link is invalid so maybe it has something to do with my cooked rom cuz links should be fine since u updated it
i do have flash 3.1 installed so let me remove and see how it goes
nope no good probably cuz cooked rom? i duno how they work but if it installs in program files/tcpmp then it should be fine as im overwriting the files

You can install Android 2.2 (Froyo).
i do not wish to go that route. there must be a solution to this besides breaking my warranty.
If you want to try www.Skyfire.com it has decent flash support - getting youtube and flash movies to work. The only problem I see is that future releases won't include WM5/6. There are extensions for Opera but only FlashLite and they don't work very well - at least compared to Skyfire. Unfortunately I seriously doubt a truly integrated flash will be available ever as Adobe has stated no more development for WM6.+ will be going on for Flash.

Android runs off the sdcard and doesn't touch internal flash memory. I wouldn't think that would affect the warranty. Android has been run successfully with the stock ROM and radio, so you don't even need hspl or a custom ROM.
I am not talking about flashing rom, but instead about watcing flash media.
Yeah, I know you want to watch flash videos. I was just saying that Android does not install to the nand (flash) memory in your phone, so there is no warranty issue. Flash 10.1 fully supports Android 2.2.
how does one do this?
Running Android on the hd2 is fairly easy. Download a build, extract the file to the root of your sdcard, open the Android folder with your file browser, tap clrcad (provides sound), tap haret. The phone will then boot into Android.

Building an android rom

Ok so I am in the process of building my own android rom. I have built the system.ext2 file using nexus one 2.16.17001 base image. I then ran the build on my HD2 was able to get it to fully boot!
It seems to run really fast, but my first issue is I can not get network to connect, it simply does not recognise the sim card.
I know there are drivers I need to download and update the build with but I am unsure what I need to download and were to get them from.
If anybody could help me it would be great. I am very close to getting a working build!
Can anybody help with this?

I've been trying to figure this out myself. I'm still working on it. I was able to get in the new radio - FRG33 built into the ROM, but that's about it so far.
Can you do me a huge favor? Don't suppose you can tell me - in a PM or otherwise - what steps you took to get it to boot as far as you did? I think if I can fiddle around with that I might be able to get the rest working.
Thanks!
Hatelfy I have sent you a PM as requested.
As Hatelfy suggests I think I need to extract the radio.img file and add the contents into my rom but I cant figure out how to extract the file. Does anybody have any ides?
I have tried mounting the file in ubuntu but it simply does not recognise the file type.
Don't know if it'd work but could you not use something like iso buster and extract raw data? Saying that I searched the other day "nbh extract" and there's a program on here somewhere that'll dump the contents into a folder if that's what you're after!?!?
Im not even sure if im on the right track. Everything on my build is working perfectly. Except the data. I cant get it to see the sim card. I am not sure what I have to update to get it to go on to the network.
Any ides?

OK, well how I did it was like this. Not sure if it's the right way of doing it, but the system didn't error and was perfectly happy doing it sooo..
Using a standard Android kitchen, I just downloaded the contents of the FRG33 Radio rom into the root of my working folder. After I was done tinkering with various aspects of my ROM I gave it the command to build from the working folder.
I guess what it does is looks for a radio from root and it incorporates everything on fly. (at least that's what the status messages said it did...)
Once I had my custom rom built I used Coffeeshop to make the system image. After that, I had no idea. I'm not even sure if I was supposed to incorporate anything to the build or not module wise.
When I get back home from work today i'll try out the info you gave me and get back to you and let you know if worked or not.
Hey man Can you PM me on what kitchen you used? I only know of the coffee shop?
Yep sure thing.

NEEDS TESTING: Flash Lite (desktop 9.1) for Optimus One

Ok the installation is very complicated (and probably will not work in a 2.2 phone but let's test anyway)
Do NOT try this if you're not experienced enough, if this works somebody else might prepare an easier update.zip file. I am not responsible for anything, this might set your phone into a bootloop, in that case you have to be smart enough to be able to remove the libs and apks you installed.
Download flashupdate.zip from the attachments.
Copy the folders from the zip file to your OO:s /system directory.
Then take the FlashPlugin.apk file from the zip file and place it onto your sd card.
Reboot your phone
Install the FlashPlayer.apk from the sd card, select replace application.
(You need to have a checkmark in install from unknown sources in the settings)
Reboot your phone.
The flash lite should be working in the default android browser (no opera),
check from the browser settings if plugins are enabled, try this site:
w ww .whatismyflash.co m
Write here what version number the site reports, if any.
These libraries were taken from the Samsung i5800, which has an armv6 processor and launched with Android 2.1, this is not dependant on htc frameworks like the flash lite on the legend and hero.
(and probably will not work in a 2.2 phone but let's test anyway)

forgive me for asking, but how come this is inside a Froyo discussion?
I tried this method a long time ago and it didn't work. maybe it only works with the 2.1 browser.
I said probably, i just wanted to test the possibility, I don't own an optimus so i had no idea if it would work. It seems this is not possible, thanks for the replies.
Test with Optimus One with Prime v2.
Installer ok, browser don't crash but drill no flash...
I bet you also have to tell the browser that flash lite exists. IMO flash lite just sits there waiting to be called to work.
Actually it does. If you don't believe me, install Adobe Flash 10.1. Every time you visit a site containing flash the browser will exit (NOT force close).
This works similarly.
I saw someone say on the dev category that flash works with dolphin hd. Check the thread where they're talking about gingerbread
maybe flash works in gingerbread with dolphin i can prove that flash dosent work on dolphin on 2.2
but what i can say is that i can install flash on cm7 but it dosent work on the browser i did try alot flash movies but no one worked.
I tried CM7 too but I can't really test flash since I can't seem to get an IP address from our router, and the network I'm on does not have 3G or even GPRS
As soon as the dhcp issue is resolved, I'll test it out and report.
The only way to install flash on optimus one now is by installing the Eclair browser. anyone can do this? or port Eclair to our phones. Hahaha.
isn' that kinda like going backwards?
yes but it's good in a way that we get flash lite 3.1
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-flash-10-1-on-android-2-1-eclair-devices/
that maybe a solution for our phone to install 10.1 flash on our phone
I'm going to try again with mik_os' CM7 port. I've been reading reports of flash working If it doesn't, I'm flashing back to my old ROM until GPS is fixed
nope flash dosent work on gingerbread.
i did try it now for a multipletimes.
I've found something on the market called "MobileFlash". However, I don't think it installs a plugin on the browser. Go check it out

I've relash the rom, used a new sd card and tried a different player and still has the same issue. Any auggeations would be greatly appreciated.
it was a BOCA bug
Thanks for the quick reply. Since you said was does that mean there's a fix. Looked all over the.rom thread to no.avail.
