Different charger matters ! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

In some of the post i had read that touch sensitivity is affected largely when charging the note.I was wondering how mine works smooth without any problem ?
But once i connected galaxy s's charger to note and it influenced the note sensitivity, some touches dint get recognised, too much lag, slow......
When connected back to original charger, was working fine again.
So to summarize, original Note charger doesn't cause any problem with note, but if you connect other android charger to it, it affects touch sensitivity.

I am using an LG adapter since the original that came with Note has a hissing sound when not in charge, and its working fine with no probs.

My charger is the opposite. My Note charger is so bad that when my morning alarm goes off I have to unplug the phone because it doesn't recognise my finger sliding across the screen. I am now using my old iphone charger which is perfect.
To find which was the best I tested them all plugged in individually and used the touch and s-pen tests using the *#0*# test screen.
I tested quite a few various usb chargers that I had around the house and all had different results.

I have encountered this issue with the original charger too. not sure if its an issue with the lcd screen because i previously went to the service centre and apparently they told me they changed my lcd screen and it has in fact gotten worse after the servicing.
any idea what my next step should be?

Anyone using a charger that's under the 1A rating as the original has? I have a bunch of 700 mAh Samsung ones and an afraid to use a lower voltage on the the 2500 mAh battery...

What I heard, its normal that touch sensitive got affected, when using the phone, while charging and that's one of the flaw with AMOLED screens.
Maybe someone can confirm it?

they all deliver the same voltage (5V). the Mah rating just changes how fast it charges up.

PANTS !!!!!
The note behaves this way with various roms, mainly KL based, with or without usb cable plugged in and regardless of what charger you use.
You should check these things first, hence why KL7 was pulled by samsung.

I'm using my HD2 charger, and it seems okay.
Can any other ex-HD2 users confirm this?

I used and old SGS charger for a while.. And a very small part of the touchscreen became unusable while charging.. With the charger that i got with the Gnote that problem doesnt exist..

I used the Samsung charger that came with my note for awhile but switched back to my original iPhone charger(The bigger one not the small new ones) both worked fine no issues with the screen or anything. Do notice that the Samsung charger gets hot after a full charge and my iPhone charger didn't other than that no issues.

I am using a desire HD charger which was my last handset, I am not having any issues while using the s pen on the note. Everything seems to be working fine.

I have been using a Galaxy 5 charger, a GALAXY SII charger and a Nokia USB cable. No screen screen issues here either.

It's not just AMOLED screens, but rather many touch screen smartphones. My Original Droid and my current Droid X both exhibit touch screen abnormalities when plugged in. I have also heard of iPhones exhibiting issues as well. I've heard changing out chargers does help.

I've also been using my iPhone charger and have not expeirenced any problems with the sensitivity of the screen.

I charge my SGN at night.
I have noticed that my Note gets 41 degree Celcius next morning using an SG2 charger.
On the other hand, if I use a third party charger - 23 degree Celcius next morning.

I have been using a 550ma Sony Ericsson charger for a couple of months and i have had no problems, I have never used the htc supplied one.

I made a post about this the other day. Mine seems completely random. My phone will completely lock up and it requires a battery pull. I can go a week using the same charger and it may not do it then out the blue it will lock up.

It makes no sense at all! Never had this problem with any other phone ever before

I had the same problem using a clone travel charger from ebay. I also had a clone usb cable that won't recognize the Epic as a mass storage. I bought from this guy on ebay that sells OEM Samsung accessories and they all work perfectly for me.
Be very careful with these things, folks... many charges can have terrible voltage regulators on them. You don't want to kill a very nice phone now, do you. Stick with a good charger and cable. I use the stock cable and the Palm Pre charger cable. I've never had screen issues or lockups with other chargers, but I only use the Palm and Samsung chargers, to be honest.
Yes, be wary of cheapo chargers!
I was able to get a OEM Blackberry MicroUSB charger off amazon for about 4 bucks shipped and it works fine to charge my Epic. My friend also gave me one of her extra HTC chargers which came with her EVO and they also work fine.
my charger is a 800ma sanyo which should not cause issues. I have not had the issue within the past week either.
Guys, check the output voltage of your chargers... specially on the cheap ones. its supposed to be no more than 5V. I broke my Hero's screen with a cheap charger with 5.5 V output. It starts by acting weird , then it looses touch capability when its connected and then stops working at all...

Random screen behavior while charging

It's probably easier to show what's happening with a video:
This happens when charging my phone. But only when placed on a hard surface.
Also when the phone is resting on a surface, it doesn't respond to my touch input.
It acts as if there is an invisible hand touching the screen in random places very rapidly.
I hope this isn't a defective screen, because I'm sure this isn't normal behavior.
My problem is almost exactly the same as this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846941, but the explanation doesn't fit in my case, as it's very hot here (high 30's C), with almost 100% humidity, and the phone isn't the same as mine.
Has anyone had a problem like this with the DHD?
On a side note, does anyone else think of "Dial Home Device" from Stargate when they see DHD, or is it just me?
Mine started doing this a while ago. Also only when charging, and only on a hard surface. Bit annoying, but I can get round is easily. Would be interesting to know what causes it though...

Mine does this when I'm using a cheap ebay charging cable. It's ok when using a genuine HTC cable.

Just tested mine again, and it seems ok. Very weird. Was using the same cable too (HTC one). Maybe it bugs out sometimes when it's next to my PC. Seems ok right now.

I've just bought 2 cables (cheap, retractable) from ebay for emergency use... :'(
Seen demo/display phone acting like that in best buy although phone wasn't flat but on sort of a stand and always on charge...

It has been discussed and confirmed earlier. It happens with cheap non-genuine chargers.
The solution is to use only the genuine charger.
I should add I do have a cheap charger and data cable from ebay that do work ok, so this problem is not universal across all non-HTC accessories.

Lol!
I only use genuine charger and battery no matter what but I hope the cheap cable would not cause this. It's just a cable anyway...
By the way, can you provide the link for the said discussion for my joy reading?
Thanks!
I had this the other day I was holding the phone and had it plug in the HTC charger. I was browsing the web and could not move up and down it just zoomed in or out like I had two fingers on-screen I restarted the phone but still did it I then unplugged it and it was ok.

Just some extra details here, the charger I was using in the video was a generic usb charger, but using the genuine charger doesn't stop the problem.
The screen is in perfect condition, not a single scratch, phone is less than two months old and I only have a genuine cable.
Also this happens on ANY hard surface, a book, tiles, wood, but soft things like wool or upholstery don't cause any problems.

Sounds like a proximity sensor issue.
I had this exact same problem as shown on the video on both the HD2 I had previously and the DHD. In both cases the culprit was not the cable but a cheap charger.
What the...never seen s.th. like this before...

Same **** here ;-(
Happens when using a eBay noname docking station! Phone is not laying on a surface! The last time i charged with this docking station there was no problem.
I will try the htc charger...
Slightly off topic but whilst my DHD is charging, if I run my fingers across the aluminum body it feels like its vibrating. I had this on my Hero too.
I'm almost positive its the current, as unplugging it stops the "vibration".
the erratic behavior of the DHD is caused by improper grounding, as the small current from the ungrounded charger is passed on to the phone's body, mostly by a other then HTC cable, there will be a current on the phone, small, but none the less there, as the digitizer measures the electric resistance against the screen on spots, as a human finger(flesh somewhat differs from nothing or non organic objects touching it) it measures a touch, this small current also can give a false touch, thus creating this erratic behavior.
hope this explains it clearly to you all.
so, if you properly ground the phone somehow, it will stop

Screen problems on charge

Long story short: for some weird-ass reason, my phone's screen's touch sensitivity goes out of whack /only/ when plugged in. Thoughts?

Output of charger...
I have this same problem when I use charger that has less than 700ma output. I have an old blackberry charger from my storm that is only 500ma output. Anytime I use it to charge my Epic, the touchscreen will go crazy.

I have this problem and it is worse with certain chargers. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I could imagine that if the power is noisy it could interfere with a capacitive screen. Hasn't happened to me though

lag while charging

anybody else noticed that phone responds less and lagier while charging. i noticed lut more chopier behavior in scrolling screens in launcher pro and adw
I thought the Galaxy didn't have any lag problems, that sucks. I don't have the phone so I can't comment, hopefully it comes to America soon.

it doesnt have while not on charger. it seams thet screen sensitivity drops down or cpu scales down. dont realy know what is causing this
yes I also noticed this yesterday while trying to use the phone while charging...gave up trying to write a message, was too hard due to the lag
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I noticed this on the S1 but never did on the S2.. I usually play a lot of games even when charging.
Are you guys using official Samsung chargers, as far as I know from experience the lag while charging only occurs with a 3rd party charger, not with the official charger.
It's the faulty charger.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
It does in fact have different thresholds when charging vs not charging.
They're talking a bit about it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072471
Original charger, not faulty (second one behaves the same, second phone behaves the same)!
Most likely that the CPU skales down to prevent damages.
noticed that,too
If you guys are using screen protectors it might be the problem :/

affects me as well. Anyone got any idea how to solve charging lag?
Mine galaxy s and s2 are ok with original charger. But when i tried cheap ebay 2$ charger, touchscreen just go crazy and laggy. So i throw them in the bin. Always use original charger.
This is a known issue. Flash a kernel with vitallij's touch screen sensitivity fix or install touchscreentune app and change MoveHyst to 90 and BLEN to 3.
Do a search in the forum for the app.

Use a charger that doesn't suck - the screen responsiveness issues are caused by chargers that put too much noise on the power supply.
Usually is due to bad chargers, but even a stock charger on unclean wall power can cause issues. (Such as when I tried to plug my charger into an inverter.)
If you get a USB cable that has a ferrite filter on it, that may help.

Then you've got noisy wall power. Maybe try a cable with a ferrite filter.
Considering that the USB cable Samsung ships is crap then yes, the charger could be crap. (The USB cable is left plugged into the PC will cause the computer to ding like device connected then disconnect)

read the user manual that came with the phone box...
pretty sure it states something like this..
"touchscreen may be unresponsive while charging"
at least it said that for the gnex, the gs2 one was read too long ago for me to remember.

Touchscreen issues while charging

Anyone else having any issues with the touch screen becoming less responsive when connected to the charger?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium App
Pretty common with capacitive screens when hooked to mains power. Even more common if you're not using an OEM charger.
Just keep in mind how capacitive touch screens actually work, and why being on AC power might cause this problem.
Im glad I am not the only one with this... I noticed something weird when I went to plug my tab into my power invertor to charge over the weekend. It was pretty much unusable while charging... I bought another invertor and it seems to work just fine... I think the el'cheapo I got years ago from w00t! finally met it's match... Try a different source or adapter, under normal charge mine works great.
