Right, after making an ICS port to the wildfire and my darkforestROM, as well as three kernels and a few apps, xda haven't accepted my developer request.
Before I get the ranting it takes them long to do it, I put it in last week, and the backlog cant be that bad.
If they don't see me as a developer, then fine, but that doesn't mean everyone won't.
Probably because I have only been on this forum two weeks, but who should judge what time you have to wait to be a developer?

The commitment and help you have given us for our ICS ROM I would definitely call you a recognized developer.
Thanks for your play tweaks app. You are a developer and will be recognised soon. Thanks again

It is my understanding that there is a couple weeks lag time in the process, and they do them in batches. I wouldn't be surprised if the process were slowed a bit by the holiday season, as well. Just be patient.
I agree with everyone. You SHOULD be seen as a developer. Loving the tweaks app and the CDMA Kernel. Plus just all the help and feedback you have provided. You have been here two weeks but I have yet to see a thread that doesn't have your feedback in it. You have been very helpful to many here myself included, and I thank you for that. You will get recognition that I am sure of.

Seeing how you developed an app that i use on my phone i certainly would say so.
do you know the criteria which they use to make the decision?
anyway who are they?
It's too bad, I totally agree with everyone and your tweaks and ROM have been amazing. You are one of those we can rely on for help. No matter what u are one of the best devs here.

I disagree, I believe you should be a member of the forums for 184 days before they even allow you to apply for dev status.
Pfft! KieranFTW don't even bother listening to Dudeness83 he doesn't recognize the skills. I agree you should have dev status you've brought us a sweet rom, kernel, and awesome tweaks all in a short period of time! And your fast to reply to any kind of problems that users run into

I understand that you're a bit miffed, but... Give it some time. The recognized developer thing implies that you're recognized by the XDA people too... And with two weeks, it may be a bit too soon. I am a forum moderator and previous admin, I know I can't assess people in a couple of Weeks.

The recognised developer system has nothing to do with if XDA considers you a compitant developer. It's more like a mark of achevement. Just keep going, keep working hard and you will get there. It takes time though. Look at the top devs like Leedroid, he has like 10 rom and kernel threads on the go at once.

LoL at that.
As soon as ICS comes out officially on the wildfire, I will be getting a good system dump and removing bloat, as well as adding tweaks.
Will call it Darkforest ROM 4.0 ICS
Having few custom roms here is a good one, gives me plenty of space to make more

Bin4ry quitted the forums although he wanted to crack the Bootloader but do you think we will make it whitout him? I feel like no but we will see
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
The developers here did enough without opening the bootloader, so my guess is everything is fine here ( most ROMs here are completed with camera fix ) what more do you want?
And quitted is not the word, he just went into another project.. another challenge
I think we should start another thread about whether to start another thread about this topic

for 2.2 froyo roms, they are basically completed
for 2.3 gingerbread ones, we just have to wait for the gingerbread update (official) so we can use the kernal and drivers available to make them stable.
I don't think our devices will make it to ice cream though..

Mj what you said is true most roms are complete but there is still more things we can do for example 16 millions color thingy and the device is locked to 32 fps and i'd love to overclock my device and for some people facing the low in call volume issue a fix and all these would be done by unlocking the Bootloader.

That's the first I've heard of anything bootloader related to SE's 2.3.3. It might be possible to infer that but otherwise nothing is publicly known. *Maybe* rooting it might be more difficult.
2.3 kernel + CM7 mod >> 2.1 kernel + CM7 Mod
Just IMO (might be different but we won't know until July)
I think we should aware something:
1)Bin4ry doesn't crack the bootloader cause the cracking is...hell
What Tue devs do is to crash the normal booting procredures in order to run our custom kernel(the kexec method)
2)I still blieve that we can soon run custom kernel for daily use
Z is trying his best to do that,he had got the radio, overclockint etc, this will be released once the kernel is ready.
The leaving of Bin4ry is a kind of lost, but it doesn't mean it wont be possible to develop the custom kernel
Cheers,

Hello all X8 users, I have something to say to you.
I have been on the X8 section and testing rom when Ratch and Doixanh almost was the only devs, and we was happy about the "Sense" roms with just basic functionality.
But in August 2011 weve got roms wirh working camera and everything.
But now everything is changed, we have more less developers which is quite sad, because more users are buting new phones right now.
Some of the best devs like Doixanh has left us, bu there is still hope from devs like nAa.
But now its time for me to leave you, and buy Arc S In about 20-25 days.
I will always remember all the fun I had with my X8 and all the great roms and modules.
I think Its quite sad to leave you, but the X8 has just to bad size of the ram for me.
But overall X8 is quite a nice phone, and I think it has the best speaker ever. My buddy has Sensation XL and he thinks X8 has better sound then hes XE.
I like the screen too, really good resolution, but I hate that I have Synaptic.
But how many of you are left, and when are you gonna buy something new?

x8 is a great device started by running android 1.6(donut) and it's still working with android 2.3(gingerbread) maybe fully function with v4(ICS) in next few months. What's a great device! But it was built for v1.6(cpu 600mhz but dev make it be able to overclock to more than 700mhz, ram 256 but 184 accessible) so i have to say that newer device can run smoother as they were built for newer version. Anw X8 is my first android phone and it's a great device to me!

This is a official ROM created by AnDrOpErZ TEAM. This rom uses ACS Syndicate Frozen 1.2 Tweaks, Such as status bar and a couple of performance tweaks by ACS.
More Bloatware has been removed and battery life has been slightly improved. Comes with a custom kernel and New Boot animation. This is our first ROM so show some love Android Lovers. LINKS will be up soon. Check out our blog for news and rom dowloads. This ROM IS DISCONTINUED BUT MAJOR CREDIT GOES TO MARCUSANT for creating the Acs Ics Rom which is wat we built off of.
Should be in development not in general no? I'm sure this will take off real quick with all those srf 1.2 fans =].

Hello Guys sorry for the late post. This rom is indeed an actual rom. We are a new user to XDA and accroding to them, We have to have at least 10 post before we can post in the Dev. Thread. Am i wrong.? I cant post the link on here because of the posting rules. This rom is built off of EI22, But we have tested on ECO5 and EB13 and it does work. We replace the link on our blog for you users having trouble finding the ROM section. We apologize for the Issues you may have. Check out our blog again and the link should be on the home page. Heads Up: It is a 4shared link and 4shared does require that you have an account. So please be mind of that. Thank You.
Explanation.!
And to all you guys keep asking why am i posting in the GENERAL thread. Its because i cannot post in the DEV. thread until i accomplish 8-10 post. We are new to XDA and are rookies when it comes to there guidelines and how there site RUNS. Just give us some time to gain knowledge of the site and i promise you, we will have everything on point.
Well sadly you all are 2 official OTA releases behind the curve and there is 1 leaked non-OTA release which is the most recent build.

We Know that. We've already researched the ACS Syndiacte Status Notes. But not all builds run properly on One's device. Actually some updates can screw up the phone. We built off the most stable update, And tweaked the performace, thats all. I know alot of people are looking for the next big thing. But there are some that are satisfied with what they have. This is only tweaks to what they have to make it run more smoothly. We are making ROMS now with the latest builds.

Dont get me wrong i love The ACS Team's work, Its pure genius. Thats why im using some of there tweaks and not others. But anways thanks for the support and happy flashing. ^____^

So your device could live. They sacrifice there device for us, thank you very much devs.:good:
As I can see a lot of N7000 devs are now on the S3 development.
But this is normal, all devs want to jump to the best device. Eventually the N7000 will have more roms, anyway there is cm9 stable, miui stable, aokp stable, a lot of customized TW roms, and there will be cm10 soon so there is development, but if you want to see useless tweaks and mods then maybe this will take a bit.
The note has officially 4 custom roms (from source, not tw based) that's not even close to dead development.

Its hard to kill a note nowadays, trust me I tried XD and all the kernels around here are fixed so there is no way a dev to kill the phone by accident.
ALSO there are like 3 guides to repair a phone with damaged /data partition so that's not a problem indeed.
Wait hacksung team get a working CM10 code and we will see a lot of action over here. They said they're working on CM10 for the S2 and since the note is a bigger S2 a lot of dev work from s2 will work on our phone.
Gnote dev dead......?????
I think its just started, considering recent ICS releases. As the developers have been working had once the brickbug came flying in to the note. So, give them some time & you will your hand full of goodies.

This is true. Development made a sudden leap for joy as soon as ICS was released.
Sometimes I feel like devolpment is dying. But then I ask myself, "Well, what exactly do you want that you can't already have?" And, ya know, I usually can't answer that question. Perhaps I'm just bored.

i miss the great devs on sgs3 forum there so many great chefs, here its so quiet and kinda boring
The device isn't out everywhere yet. Out of contract price is a bit high so there may be some delay.

Wow! Are you kidding? I'm pretty pleased with how development is going.

It's been only available for a week.....
Looking over at the Dev forum it looks pretty good so far. We can't even get the phone in the US yet. I'll be jumping from Skyrocket to Note 2 as soon as it's available here, and I know a lot of Devs will as well. Just give it a few weeks after it's available in the US and Canada and you'll have a ton of ROM choices.
People like you make baby Jesus cry....
Its like a week since release and we got good stuff.
The development even quicker than that for Note 1 previously. Couldn't be happier
Speaking from experience, not many devs want to develop for non-Nexus devices, let alone phablets.

There's going to be a decent amount of devs making ROMs for this device. All high end phones are going to have good development. But you do have to realize that not everyone wants a huge phone, so there won't be as many devs as the sgs3. But there will be enough development definitely.

Its great as of now, and it will eventually get better and better.
I too have something great for galaxy note 2, But the problem is that I am not allowed to post it in the development section because I need 10 helpful posts.
So stay tuned......
Are you for real! Indie Mike1986 Wanam Mskip Chainfire Andreilux and other chefs. The device is out for a week lol

It rocks on stock for now - Why the rush to dump stock?
Post it on dropbox or drive.

Some people get addicted to just flashing for the sake of it so they look for new things to flash and can't find anything...
it doesn't matter to them that everyone is largely offering identical roms just under different names

I couldn't agree more. The whole point of custom ROM's is to add value to the product. I find it difficult at this point to see how a custom ROM could add value. The ROM is very fast and has features you cannot find elsewhere. There is minimal need for additional features or more speed. No need to return to Android basics or use CyanogenMod. Custom ROMs will add value when they can add newer versions of Android. If someone can port Android 4.1.2 without losing S Note, S Planner and multiview, then there would be value added.
to be honest, i miss these devs, their works for note2 :
Chainfire root+cwm recovery
siyah kernel
Rom devs we have really good, like mike, indie, wanam.

Exactly, and those are elite developers. The fact that Indie, Wanam and Mike 1986 are here in a week is incredible. You can expect Franco and gokhanmoral too.
