I have a black htc p3600 that is great, everything except the fact that it is a fingerprint magnet. Am I the only that finds himself constantly cleaning their device? I put some egrips on the side of the device and they turned out really nice, they give you that extra grip. I love the black finish but am becoming obsessed with alcohol squares in my pocket for my phone.

Too long a tale... I ended up returning my black Trinity to the store, just to find that only white ones remained availble at the time. I decided to keep one for a few days until blacks where available. Finally I stay with the white one, happy enough: no fingerprints, no peeling, quite happy!
I bought a white one because of the paint peel and the finger print problem. I have a Nintendo DS that has exactly the same issue.
The glassy look seems to be in at the minute and finger prints is the price we pay for the trendy look.
I ended up putting my trinity in a silicon cover because i developed a grip problem in my hand. Now I've no problem with the finger prints and stuff. - An ok solution as long as you dont mind camoflaging your PDA in the next best thing to a condom
The silicon covers are a great product, cut just nice for all the important access holes and the button shappes are well replicated. I ended up slightly enlarging the jog dial hole though.
I still hate the greasy marks on the scren though, particularily after a lot of phone use!!

Sillicon may be a solution, but only in the way of keeping the Trinity value for a resell,,, it's like having a Ferrari and keeping it covered to avoid paint scraps..... Com'n!, Some things are designed to be exhibited! I-pods, Ferrari, Trinitys.... stick with Siemens phones otherwise.....

I originally bought the silicon cover because i have MS and have a grip problem with my left hand, the silicon cover sorts the prob.
Before I purchased it, i found myself giving it a wipe now and again. I even used alcohol wipes too.

I used to walk around with a brick of an XDAIIi to my ear and took some serious stick. So now I've got a half decent looking phone that works well - hapy days!!!
The clear silicon cover only takes a wee bit of the look off, but its worth it for the function - keeping it clean, gripable and unscratched ready for sale when I upgrade next.
The Piel frama cover - good piece of kit.
I put it in my pocket and walking around rubs it clean, ha ha

i usually will use a microfibre cloth to clean my Trinity, works well to take away the fingerprints and oily surface.
I use monster iClean to clean it, and use an ipod sock when i put it on my pocket.

Not icon-centric, but I know people trashing 500€ worth of electronics every 6 months just for keeping the phone "free" in the same pocket as keys, coins, etc.
On the other hand, I myself am the type that keeps every plastic bag coming in the shipping box for months.
However, when I got my Trynity, it has been the first HTC device in a long time (it's my 10th HTC device) that I can show to friends and not looking just a "friky". Trinity is a lot on the i-pod side, this is what I meant (not for the catholic icons....)
Piel frama enclosures, as the one shipping on the Himalaya.. (anyone here remembers?) made me feel ..... well, strange, with about half a pound of a gadget in my ear.... Bluetooth stack never worked well in the original model.
My grain of salt: carry whatever you like, but being shiny and clean at the same time is near impossible. So.... enjoy the envious gazings at your Trinity until the i-phone comes out!

I like that the back of the Kaiser is "slightly rubberized" it keeps it from slipping around like the old Hermes did. Does this cover feel the same way? I probably wouldn't go for it either way, but, if it is slippery, it takes away a nice feature IMO.

I put something like this on my wife's iPhone and it works great. Well worth the investment and it really cuts down on the fingerprint smudges (the iPhone is flat out impossible to keep smudge free). I used this skin and bought one of the thin ruberized cases, and my 14 month old daughter has knocked it off tables on several occassions with not a scatch or even a blip of the screen. I have to admit for all it's lack of features, that thing is TOUGH and makes a great device for my wife. I also like the peace of mind that the thing can get thrown around her purse to her hearts content right beside that massive key ring and all I have to do is peel that thing off and it will look like new.
I wonder how well it would suit the Kaiser though since it has more moving parts. On the two occasions my daughter has knocked my 8125 off the coffee table, I have cringed. No damage, but on one occasion the battery door got knocked off, thus forcing a soft reset. Even with one of these covers, I am thinking the sliding keyboard and pop off battery cover will make it more prone to injury, even when it is in a decent case.
Bottom line, I'll be making sure my Kaiser is out of reach!!

note: ... only certain kit(s) goes this way of "covering the whole screen" ... if it works well ... I hope the TyTN II kit do the same ...
thickness is similar to a screen protection I guess ... there's one video for the MACBOOK and it does the "covering of the mouse's touchpad" as well ... so I guess it works really well then.

ok guys (and any girls) i just applied the BodyGuardz to my Kaiser and took a few pics before hitting the road... I've included 10 pics in the attached zip file. they're not the best pics, but hopefully they give you some perspective on fit, look, etc. keep in mind that it takes 24 hours for the bubbles to disappear. the pics were taken about 3 hours after application so you'll see some bubbles here and there. by the way, you get 2 sets of skins and 3 screen protectors with the kit. each set includes a skin for the left and right sides, one for the top, one for the back and one for the front. the left side skin also covers the bottom of the phone. so far I'm pleased. i like the somewhat tacky-feel and now i know my phone will be protected from scratches when in my pocket. overall this is a pretty good value.

I too think they make the best protection for our devices. I've used them on my previous Wizard and Hermes and loved them. The problem I see with putting them on the Kaiser/Tilt is that there's really not much real estate to cover. There's the screen (of course), but that's about it. I personally wouldn't want to cover the back because I like the grip I can get from it. The sides are "ridged", and can't be covered. And the rest of the face is just too small to cover.
But they're really good about making custom shields if you bring in your device to them and it's only like $10 more than their usual charge. But once they make a template, no more custom build fees.
I bought the invisibleshield for my 8125 many years ago. It was a big waste of money. I hated it.
i too had reservations about using a "skin" to protect my Kaiser. i just recently applied the BodyGuardz to my device and as of know, i think i'll continue to use them. this is a link to some pictures (some good, some not so good) in case anyone's interested to see how it turn out.
i had this for my wizard. I love how friendly customer service was. If for some reason, you screw up your cover, which is pretty hard to do, then you can ask them to ship you another one paying for shipping as long as you register.
Only complaint is that it's a little too thick. Didn't feel good with the stylus. But at least I was confident that my screen wasn't going to get damaged.

yes, it's thin and it covers a significant portion of the device. durability is good at the moment...time will tell how well it protects the device.

I am pretty sure it will unless it covers 100% of the back. I kept my protection film on the battery cover for 2 days of use, when i took it off, there was a very noticeable trace from where it was.
emobileinhand.com has teamed up with Amazon and they're selling the Seidio Innocase for $24.85 shipped. I added Priority shipping and the total was $26.85. I bought my first Innocase from them but I got wasted on St. Patricks Day and broke it. The phone is fine, thank God.
The Seidio Innocase is hands down, THE BEST case for the Kaiser. The holster (strongly recommended) really keeps the device safe.
Right now, I'm using my Boxwave as a backup. I like it, but the belt clip forces you to wear it with the screen facing out which could lead to damage.

I have this case and imo its overpriced crap. The thing rarely stays on all the way. It seems there's always a corner or something to press down on again to get it to stay on it.
If you want a nice case cheap, just buy a cheapy. I bought one off Amazon for less than $5 and it stays on all the time never have to worry about it at all. The only difference is the holster and finish. The Seido has a nicer feel to it due some coating they put on it. And the holster for the cheapy is one of those screw on job's.
But hey if you want to spend $20 on a coating for something that will fall off, go ahead its on sale!!

I've used it for 2 weeks now and it stays on, feels great on hand, and haven't found any peeling of the rubberized layer.
I used to put on PDAir Aluminium for my SE M600 and it also go roughed up. So you can imagine my usage habit and this Seidio performs beyond my expectation.
Yea, I dunno man, I never have had a problem with my Seidio. You just have to make sure you have it on correctly. The boxwave is a very close second though. I wish Boxwave had a holster similar to Seidio's.
The great thing about the Boxwave is that it has a "notch" for the reset hole so it's almost impossible to miss and end up messing up your USB port.

I don't know how someone could fit it on incorrectly. It only goes on one way and its pretty obvious which way that is.
My biggest problem w/the case is that if i slide that keyboard out it will knock off the bottom hinges.
IMO its not a secure case. Is it designed well as far as all the little notches and slots? Yes. Does it feel nice in your hand? Yes. Does it look nice? Yes. Is it worth more than $5? No.
Is this really much different to the 'crystal cases' that you can buy from the markets and crack after a week in your pocket?

Dont even think about buying this pathetic case. after much debate i bought this hoping it would protect my kaiser. i spent a week looking for the perfect case, went through everything i could find. i received the case, it snapped on easily, i hardly had an issue with the little hinges, the case lasted me a good 18 months. the rubberised outside is a nice touch, imo the phone doesnt look good with the case, but i stuck with it coz it protects your phone, right? well not quite. what the assholes at seidio dont tell you is that yeah they've rubberised the outside but done nothing inside the case. its plastic, which means after a couple of months you start to accumulate **** inbetween the case and the outside of the fone. ordinarily it might not be a problem, but if like me the fone spends most of its time in the back pocket, in bags etc then any grainy kind of crap between a plastic cover and a kaiser = ? you guessed it, major dents, scratches, gouges etc. i didnt check the phone for a good 3 months after i put the cover on, when i took it back off my phone looked like id rolled it down a hill and then threw it back up again. its ruined my kaiser and now i cant sell it on unless i buy another housing and put it on myself. it may be error on my part assuming that a protective case protects the outside of your fone, i dont know. this is my experience of this ****ty case, take it or leave. i think you'd be better off buying the cheapy crystal ones, coz then atleast you can see when your phone needs cleaning and you dont end up ruining it.

I had a similar experience as paradoox, bought it, thought it looked crap but left it on to protect fone, few weeks later discovered one of the little little tabs holding the top half of the case on snapped so it wouldn't stay on.. this is when i found scratches and dents under the case too. imo ... the case is just too expensive for how it performs... better to go thu 3 cheapies i think..
It all depends on your usage and carry habit.
I carry my phone on a leather pouch on my belt, with the Seidio snuggly fit on it, so it won't slip whatsoever.
It does make sense that some grits, etc. will get under the case, but I just opened it up 1-2 weeks ago and found nothing. Remember, I live in Jakarta, taking public buses and lots of fumes, dust, etc. around the air.
Of course it has to be also counted that I rarely open my phone in public (dusty, windy area) mainly for security reasons. I don't flaunt my belongings. I worked in an office building, and the phone is often out, but it's a clean environment.
Again, YMMV. For someone who wants no dust, I read somewhere there's a waterproof case for Kaiser ..
For my use, Seidio works great.
I am going on a trip to Paris in a few weeks and I have been reading how bad the pickpocketing is over there. I am heavily relying on my Raphael for GPS and notes on things to do and such so it would be a big deal (and expense) if I had it lifted from my pocket. Are there any cases that would allow you to secure it to something like your belt loop? I have an invisibleSHIELD on it currently so it would have to be large enough to accommodate that added thickness.

get one of those underwear security belts and stick your phone in there........sure will be nice when it vibrates! ha ha.....
when i went to paris, i bought a security side bag. it's like a side man bag but the straps are steel cable enforced so it can't be cut off your shoulder and inside pocket can be locked (passport, money, etc). the phone can go in there..... i love that bag and now use it for all my traveling... including my upcoming trip to the carribbean in 1 week.. yay.... and india in a couple of months..

Those bags are sold at www.ebags.com and are usually less expensive than thru REI or another retailer. I'm a handbag-a-holic and shop and ebags all of the time and I have seen them there. I highly recommend that site. I had it up in my browser at the same time I read this post.
I haven't tried one of those bags myself, but I had seen them and thought it was a fabulous idea.

I got my HD2 a couple of weeks ago and as usual with new toys, am still taking some extra care with it. I had a Touch HD before that withstood quite a few bumps and two small drops. I saw people carying iPhones in pants pockets, back and front. Given that HD2 screen is significantly larger, how fragile is it, really? I usually carry my phones in jacket pocket, screen towards the body, without any case or sleeve. Do I need to take so much care for it or is it actually more resilient than it seems? Yes, I've seen the threads with broken screens. Anything can break, given enough force.
Any serious feedback is welcomed. Thanks.

Well I have had mine since it was released in the UK and have had it in my right hand side front pocket in my jeans/trousers etc, sat on floors etc and all sorts and nothing has ever happened to it at all. Its a pretty tough screen I think, as long as when its in you pocket its not at an odd angle, I cant see any problems keeping it in there. I certainly have no problems.

Hmm I can only speak for myself and my HD2... but my screen has 2 (really small) scratches..
I think these are from a keychain or maybe a lighter in my pocket. I don't really know where the came from - but not from dropping it.
I would recommend to use a (thin - not that thick vikuti) foil to protect it against scratches.
--> Question: What would you recomment regarding a foil to cover the screen? I bought 1 Vikuti foil and really disliked it - it is sooo thick
Edit: I think the knife in the video would be able to scratch the screen... only a matter of right angle an pressure
I dropped mine on new years eve - drunk and the only thing i noticed the following day was that i had lost the backplate lol

Had mine three weeks, using front trouser pocket though I am very conscious of checking the pocket for keys etc first.
I have a full body invisibleSHIELD skin, and i'm extremely happy with it.
I've knocked it a few times on the edge of tables and chairs, once on the metal hand grip on a bus seat, and theres not a mark on it anywhere.
I have a screen protector that covers the entire screen, and carry the phone in my pants pocket in the leather case that came with the phone (I'm waiting on a holster from eBay).
The screen is in perfect condition, however, I did scuff the corner of the HD2 by dropping it (in its leather case) as I went to put it in my pocket coming out of a movie theatre...dropped onto cement.

I use a screen protector and have a very nice silicone case for it that fits very snug, but I'm just being careful.
I believe that common sense is enough to keep this device from being damaged. As you can see from the linked video above, the screen is very resiliant, but it's not scratchproof. Also, why on earth anyone would put it in the back pocket of their trousers and sit down is totally beyone me, but people have done it (and probably still do), but they end up on here asking how to fix their damaged screen. (My advice to them is to hook up a flex capacitor to their car, drive at 88mph, go back in time to before they broke it and slap themselves round the face and say "STOP BEING SILLY!!!")
It's tough, but not unbreakable. Just treat it with respect, look after it sensibly, and DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR BACK TROUSER POCKET OR FRONT SHIRT POCKET!!!

Personally I don't bend over when I need to get something on the floor et cetera...I bend my knees...I've heard that bending like that is bad for your back.

I can't wait for mine to arrive next week. I can tell you from experience that the IPHONE has cracked 3 times in pocket when I put too much pressure. Apple does replace them on a regular basis. They allow for what they call a hairline. If it spiders they won't replace it but a hairline is within their tolerance and is common enough for them to replace it without question. That is how I ended up with a new replacement recently. I wasn't using the phone much but my HD battery died on site so I put the time into the IPHONE to use it. I squatted with the IPHONE in backpocket and CRACK. I probably should check my beltline while I am at it..
They replaced it and that worked out anyways as I am going to sell it. Keep my HD and Bold as backup.
The glass looks pretty solid and as many people reported it a good solid piece of hardware.
i keep mine in the case it comes with when i am carrying it around... any pocket really.
i just make sure i dont sit on it! lol
the screen itself is extremely resilient when it is out and in use.
I leave mine lying around all of the time out of the case and it still looks brand new.
I dont use any screen protector.

being a kapasitive screen it uses a propper glass cover instead of ****ty plexi glass or resistive glass as most phones use, this naturally gives it a more scratch proof serface but makes it less resilient to actually breaking. like one guy said it all has to do with angle and preshure.. and abit of bad luck when it comes to screen protection i recomend invisiShield. they are nice and thin, VERY clear plastic so it doesnt disturb teh screen quality. and last but not least, the fabric its made of is teh same as teh stuff that they use to cover helicopter rotor blades with, so it comes with a 30 year waranty.
