Does anyone else have doubts about the atrix & utilizing the face unlock feature when available? Our front facing camera is worse than any other I've seen :/
Just a thought, so many while I highly anticipate ICS.

front camera face unlock is a gimmick.
just like 3D photos.
imo.

Thanks exactly what I was thinking.
The Front camera on the atrix is HORRIBLE in low light conditions...... so yeah I don't think it will function very well for the people that would be interested in it.

I agree, and swiping the finger on the screen is faster than trying 5 times to unlock the phone with your face. I don't expect the face unlock feature to work very well.
Who here would actually want to sit there and look at your phone to unlock it? Much less in public lol. Plus I'm sure it's not instant and I like being able to get into my phone right away.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Haha I thought it was a pretty cool idea.. then I saw how much better other phones front camera is than ours, you'd have to be in direct light for it to maybe function, even then the quality is very poor.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
The front camera is actually not that bad. Take some photo and it comes out ok on the computer.
The problem is the crappy pentile LCD, which causes some 'burning' effect on red/dark areas.
This has been proven to be a gimmick and anyone with a photo of you can actually unlock your phone!
For me fingerprint reader works wonderful!
Cheers,
Rayan

Pics or it didn't happen!
You probably didn't crack the camera lens, you probably cracked the plastic lens that's over the camera, right?
You need this piece:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-HTC-EVO-Spr...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5d074580
You can see in the teardown pics that the camera lens is actually under this piece. Better hurry though, that's the last one (I bought the other one for a project I'm doing).
Im suprised that this is such a big issue.. ive never had a problem, neither have any of my friends. Well, ill take that as we are lucky...

Who said we need a ffc to video chat lol I can chat with my G2 using quik app no need for ff video camera. Lol just to let people know do you really need to look at your self on the screen? No, not me, I can look at the lense just fine without the need to look at my self.

How do you see the other person? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of video chat.

Yea but you don't need to see the other person, it works good for me since I already know the person I'm talking to so I don't need to see them. I only use the cam for them to see me. And I just stand in the mirror for a few secs to see my cousin and that's it no need to stare at her for the rest of the call
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
But yea I could only imagine/wish HTC pushing a ota update to make that lenses on the top left of the phone becomes a ffc lmfao. There is something on top of the mysterious lense that I think is the ambient light and face sensor. So imagine that could be a ffc update in the future lol I know I'm crazy
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
idea of ffc is you see them - they see you, in a nutshell that's a video chat.... i really cant imagine why would i need that in the cell phone, and even if it would happend that i ever will , I would like to see other person while chatting.. without using a mirror...
I stand in front of a mirror lol
so if u can't see yourself or the person your video chatting with, than in essence its like having someone on speaker? Right?
Really? That's hilarious lololololololol
the internet has turned everyone brain dead... enough with the lols!
tango is free and it is ported to iphone.. works great on g2 also.
They should ban ffc for married people. Its the root of all evil.

I have the moto portfolio case and got my xoom from launch day and today I just noticed my rear cam has two scratches and I'm about to cry!!!!!
Does anyone knows if there is a way to replace it and how much would it cost!!! I hate the moto case because doesn't protect ****!!!! But am I hopeless? Any help would be appreciated (even people complaining about this post and redirecting me to the right one)
Thanks!

Yeah yeah, its a shooter,we call it 3VO and I'm not afraid to use it...
You should be OK. You probably rested it on some keys or something.

Thanks for the reminder for me to be careful with that lens. I hope it's not a problem for you.
Same here.
I too have an issue with my camera. The plastic covering the camera has a dent right over the camera opening. Any ideas on this seemingly simple rplacement part?
That's what I was trying to get but, anyways it seems to not affect the pictures at all... at least on mine...

nice spider, are you from Brazil too?
it's ur camera skills,
it's spot focus on the video recorder and you keep aiming at the table, thus focussing on the table. stay steady and keep your subject (spider) in the center of the screen when recording.

Being constructive,....I think the transitions effect could do with slowing down just a little to give more of a melt effect.....Just to match the tempo of the music a bit better

You should make a video where a girl and guy are walking down the street and they see each other but out of his back pocket is an iPhone so turns away as the iphone isn't worth her time.
