I have the moto portfolio case and got my xoom from launch day and today I just noticed my rear cam has two scratches and I'm about to cry!!!!!
Does anyone knows if there is a way to replace it and how much would it cost!!! I hate the moto case because doesn't protect ****!!!! But am I hopeless? Any help would be appreciated (even people complaining about this post and redirecting me to the right one)
Thanks!

Yeah yeah, its a shooter,we call it 3VO and I'm not afraid to use it...
You should be OK. You probably rested it on some keys or something.

Thanks for the reminder for me to be careful with that lens. I hope it's not a problem for you.
Same here.
I too have an issue with my camera. The plastic covering the camera has a dent right over the camera opening. Any ideas on this seemingly simple rplacement part?
That's what I was trying to get but, anyways it seems to not affect the pictures at all... at least on mine...

This isn't a small issue I Googled to see if I could replace it and low and behold a bunch of others with the same issue...I have never dropped the phone I baby it but it happened...I think u all should take a look...anyone else?

Pics or it didn't happen!
You probably didn't crack the camera lens, you probably cracked the plastic lens that's over the camera, right?
You need this piece:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-HTC-EVO-Spr...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5d074580
You can see in the teardown pics that the camera lens is actually under this piece. Better hurry though, that's the last one (I bought the other one for a project I'm doing).
Im suprised that this is such a big issue.. ive never had a problem, neither have any of my friends. Well, ill take that as we are lucky...

When will people learn to get the Case-Mate Barely There case on their EVOs. That offers the best protection for your camera lens and phone. Tsk tsk tsk!

Ok I make a lot of phone calls on my cell phone for long period's of times and I know the oil's on my face are on the phone a lot.I wanted to know is the glass protecting the proximity sensor? I mean like is the sensor under it? I just don't want the thing to break but I do have the stock screen protector they provided you with on the phone. Also is there a way to break the proximity sensor? Thanks

i got my evo on july 3, never even considered putting it in a case because its just so damn sexy it should be naked all the time.... so wednesday i noticed a scratch or maybe a crack on the screen. took the phone in and they replaced the front housing front display and rear display.... now theres a little hole on the bottom of the evo to the left of the microusb port that wasnt there before. What is this? it looks like the little reset button my kaiser and touch pro had, but obviously the evo has no stylus so what gives??

Wow! Very nice! The springs seem to not be available right now. I also have a little fear of disassembling my phone.. The last time I did it, it was on a Sony Ericsson k800i, I ended up break the power button off without even knowing it until there was no feel in the power button when I tried to turn it in.

i tried just to stretch the spring buy ya...it goes back after a few days...
so i heated it up and then stretched it.
it works like a charm!
just take a lighter and then stretch it with some tools cuz otherwise ull get burned.
for now it seems to work reeeally good. have beein using that for 6 days now.
(and i open and close it a lot!!)
just try it out.

Does anyone else have doubts about the atrix & utilizing the face unlock feature when available? Our front facing camera is worse than any other I've seen :/
Just a thought, so many while I highly anticipate ICS.

Thanks exactly what I was thinking.
The Front camera on the atrix is HORRIBLE in low light conditions...... so yeah I don't think it will function very well for the people that would be interested in it.

I agree, and swiping the finger on the screen is faster than trying 5 times to unlock the phone with your face. I don't expect the face unlock feature to work very well.
Who here would actually want to sit there and look at your phone to unlock it? Much less in public lol. Plus I'm sure it's not instant and I like being able to get into my phone right away.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Haha I thought it was a pretty cool idea.. then I saw how much better other phones front camera is than ours, you'd have to be in direct light for it to maybe function, even then the quality is very poor.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
The front camera is actually not that bad. Take some photo and it comes out ok on the computer.
The problem is the crappy pentile LCD, which causes some 'burning' effect on red/dark areas.
This has been proven to be a gimmick and anyone with a photo of you can actually unlock your phone!
For me fingerprint reader works wonderful!
Cheers,
Rayan
