Hello guys. I'm having some issues with going back to stock. I had to Downgrade my phone and then install S-Off with the Easy_Radio_Tool v2_2. I then flashed Android Revolution ROM successfully. Later this evening I wanted to go back to stock so I recovered to the Stock 2.2. Now when I try to update, it downloads the 2.3 update and goes to installing. My phone reboots and just shows the ORANGE-BLUE screen nonstop. I've been waiting for some time and it just stays the same. What should I do?

I had the same exact problem but then i just ignored the stock rom and flashed a custom one.
Anyways this thread should help you to getting back to stock.

I've done the same. I've had enough jerking around and just flashed Android Revolution again. Then I flashed SuperRosie and wow...no more words. Way better than Stock.

well of course. Custom roms are tweaked to give users the best experience and i personally think that going to stock for nothing would be a waste of time + waste of your device capabilities.

Just wondering, if I were to flash to a custom rom, such as Thor... then a few months later ICS comes out for our tablets, what would the upgrade process entail?
I'm hesitant to try a custom rom, because when ICS finally comes I don't want there to be extra steps in order to get the update.
Anyone know how difficult/easy this is going to be? Will it involve having to flash back to stock first, then OTA to ICS?
TIA!

Not trying to be rude but honestly, if youre afraid of a few extra steps than rooting and android is not for you. I suggest an apple product.
But to answer your question, when official ICS comes out OTA Im sure devs will create custom roms that you can just flash. I mean we already have ICS ports in the works.
Why would you want crappy OTA ICS when you could have a faster, custom rom ICS .

Don't assume. I already have ICS running on my Galaxy S; I'm sure I've flashed and reflashed android devices just as much as anyone else here. It's not about being afraid. It's about convenience for a device I've come to rely on day-to-day.
Thanks for the post, anyways. But I'd still like to hear what the process would be to go from a custom rom to the offical OTA ICS.

From what Ive read (search function), you can update from a custom rom but you will lose root.

If u rely on this day to day, u do NOT want to flash an ICS rom yet. Not even close for day to day use.Stick with what u have and just be patient.

I agree wait for the kinks to be worked out.
If you rely on this device pretty heavily, and you still want to get ICS when it comes out, I would just recommend flashing a custom ROM now that is known to be pretty stable. like you suggested, Thor's ROM seems to be a great one. It definitely improves the speed of the tablet and I have yet to come across any bugs that would inhibit my everyday use. Then, once developers have worked out a ROM for a relatively stable version of ICS, you shouldn't have any trouble switching to that and not worrying about the OTA updates.

Well, if you're familiar with all that, then you already know how to flash an OEM ROM and would know you already knew how to do it.
can be a bit of a pain going back to stock ota updates. Depends on availability of your devices localized stock rom.( or being able to backup stock rom first). Took me about 5 days to find the right files and steps to get ota working again. Didnt help that i am a total newbie, the iconia is my first android device never flashed anything before except a pc bios. Do your research first and make sure you can go back instead of getting stuck. Here is a link to get you started http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155664 another thing when you go back to stock you also go to the back of the line in the update queue as well. I was on 3.2.1 went back to 3.1 got ota updates up to 3.2 but have not recieved 3.2.1 update again yet cheers.

Question is HOW? - via OTA? via flashing ROM from dev section? If you flashed a ROM, which one? And how did you do it - steps you took.

Again I'm still not quite getting what you did.
So I'll assume that when you say,
I did the update for the 4.3

you mean you took the Over The Air update - the one from Sprint; your phone says Firmware update available.... etc.
IS THAT CORRECT?
If so you CANNOT go back to 4.2 period. End of story on that route.
You can however, If my above assumption is correct, and you didn't apply the update in some other way re-flash MJA or flash a custom ROM. For that you'll need to root your phone (CF-Autoroot works), install custom recovery (for 4.3 Philz is the one to use) and then flash the ROM as per the developers instructions.

Thank you I will work on it I will let u know
Hello All,
I am attempting to return my A501 to stock ICS from full rom package in the dev thread that is sticked.. Can anyone please tell me if it will remove the Skrilaz bootloader? if so will that break anything??? I currently have 4.4.2 Omni rom on it and it randomly restarts well, when ever it feels like it and i need it to work 85% of the time at least. Thanks In Advance.
When you get back to stock, you will loose your: data, ROM, recovery and bootloader as well. But then you would have a clean tablet that you can unlock again, and install your favourite ROM.

Its headed for stock and staying that way. I need it for work and all the custom roms either do not support the A501's Cell Data. or restart all the time. saddly I will just have to stick with a root and debloat

Gave it a try, it no longer randomly restarts but suffers from Sleep Of Death. So again I have a useless tablet. back to stock it goes and most likely for sale as i need newer versions of STABLE android. a device that i have keep awake 8 hours a day for fear it will not wake up is useless and no one is offering any ideas on the tegraowners
I posted the same thread a week ago and got no help. My moto x has a problem that whatever rom i flash it just stays open for a few minutes then restarts so it's unusable. Please any suggestion is needed as this is my daily driver

What do you mean by it just stays open. Do you mean it never boots? Like a bootloop? If so, search 7.0 ROMs bootloop, you'll find the solution, tons of threads on the help and q&a here. But if you don't mean what I just explained then could you clarify?
Sorry for not being clear, i dont think it is bootloop. It boots into the rom no issues and i can use it normally and doesn't restart till a few minutes no matter what rom i flash.

If I were you I would flash back to stock and make sure you you don't have a hardware problem, If nothing else it's a chance to start over. I haven't gone to custom roms for these reasons, mine is my daily driver to and I can't afford to get caught without it.

No worries. Yeah I don't know what the issue could be, could be a ROM issue, it's weird though, but like the poster above me, it could be hardware failure and flashing stock would be a good way to find out.
I would love to go back to stock but how? All the tutorials are very hard for me to follow can you guide me to an easy one or tell me how?

I agree that they are a little hard to follow, I looked at them myself and it looks like the quickest way would be to go back to 6.0 and upgrade back to 7. But someone else could correct me on that.
For future reference, it's best to always twrp backup your stock rom before doing any kind of major changes especially custom roms. That way you can always fall back to original if something goes wrong.

I would go back to stock 6.0, if he hasn't upgraded to 7.0, I'll do some digging, find good guides, and post them here in a bit @Philo0o!

I think I might also do a twrp backup of my 7.0 and make it public, but it will take me a couple of days before I can factory reset. There doesn't seem to be any stock 7.0 backups around on xda.

Alright if you wanna go the custom ROM route, don't update to stock 7.0, not many custom ROMs work with it's new firmware. I'll get you a guide to go back to stock 6.0 then!
Edit: Alright @Philo0o, here's a good page with all the firmware links for your phone, and the commands to flash the firmware are there for you. Let me know if you have any questions about that.
Also, when your ROMs aren't working, what are you doing to try again? what I mean is you could try a full data format in twrp. Not just a wipe of data, system, etc.. A full format isn't quite like going back to stock, but it may help if there are leftovers somewhere causing issues if that makes sense.
so if you wanna try a full format, backup your internal storage to a computer, or to an sd card, and then format, and then you will have a clean slate, move what you need back over to your phone and voila!
Ill look through that tutorial, and whenever i flash a rom i do a full a wipe

It always restart after being on a charger for a while. It only restarts once while charging but happens systematically. I don't think my battery has issue if it's relevant.

Ah ok. So it's their firmware that has issue? I'm also on the official rom.
idk, just rolled back or better forward to T510XXU3BTFN stock to be able to get the recent lineage/nexus rom working and stayed so far at stock.
my previous lineage/nexus rom was also 10, so maybe the new official kernel cause this problem. but then the problem should also appearing with custom rom (with BTFN kernel).
also, BTH4 (recent stock with sept. security update) still has this problem.

I'm in the identical situation. Rolled back to stock in order to update custom rom but stayed.
I'm actually impressed how much better the android 10 update feels compare to to 9. I think I am gonna stick around in stock for the HD Netflix and Primevideo.
Btw, I also have the update that came out a few days ago, still restarting while being charged

Are you getting the warning message while booting? If so, you need to relock the bootloader. While the tablet is off, hold both volume up and down, without letting go, connect the tablet to a computer via USB. You will be put into a menu, follow the on screen instructions to relock the bootloader.
