May be. I didnt know at the time of posting. Thnks for the info.

Any chance this thing could work on 2012 models?
And, if nobody tested yet, could I damage my 2012 phone with it?

Yes. Use this thread and download the Orange/Bell/Telestra/Latin America/International users ONLY file. The file should be named IHOP_Bell.rar . Flash it with RSDLite. Done.
I know you are new, but next time, questions go in the Q&A section. Thanks!
Also @OP, make sure that you indeed want to unlock your phone, because once you unlock your phone it stays unlocked forever.
A lot of people get excited about unlocking their phones, and start a thread later on how they can lock it back up because for whatever reason they changed their minds...

"The bootloader is unlocked automatically during the unlock of S1 QSD8250 and S1 MSM7227 phones
Added explicit menu option for unlocking bootloader of S1 QD8250/MSM7227/MSM8x55(T) phones.
It does almost the same as the network unlock operation.
Once you have an unlocked bootloader, you may freely reflash the phone without any limitations" .
And for promo period :
"4 days promotion period is coming: All Omnius's features are going to be for free.
When? During Easter: since 6th April 2012, 00:00 UTC until 9th April 2012, 23:59 UTC.

Greetings From Xperia Forums

Hello my friends i am from xperia forums Xperia J to be specific. i am trying to port cyanogenmod for locked bootloader and im having trouble getting it to boot past the CM boot logo. Xperia J has 4.1.2 stock jb and a 3.4.0 kernel. is there any tips you's can give me. some people have said that you also have locked bootloaders that you could help me
You're going to need to find a build prior to April 27th. From that date forward CM 10.1 was designed for unlocked bootloaders only. I dont have one but im sure someone here does.

If you're really interested in locked BL work, I suggest you talk to Hashcode. He basically enabled any and all custom ROMs prior to our unlock exploit.
Also, the droid 3 and 4 are still in a locked situation, so you might have more luck there. Good luck!

Its hard to say as they don't list the system version or kernel build date.... If you can find a way to message the seller to get that info we would be more then happy to let you know
We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.
They are listing man its written 4.0.4 .
If its version of the piece you buy then I probably say yea because in ICS One click root PC software may work.. But make sure this thing

ICS & JB -> Yes, upgrade to 18x.46.10 to root & unlock.
KK -> Probably, ask for system version & kernel build date and post them here.

Those specs appeared to be the default specs to me... I apologize... I just know when I bought the one I'm on now it was listed as ICS as well yet when I received it the version was the JB xxx.xxx.3...the 4 I've bought (I believe) was all listed as ICS as well as that is what the device originally was on when released... Personally if I really wanted a device that I could root and unlock I would message the seller... I apologize...

Cyanogenmod for Axon 7 mini?

I saw there's an unofficial Cyanogenmod rom out for the Axon 7 and was wondering if there if one available for the Mini (or if the Axon 7 version will work on the Mini)?
No and no. First we need a bootloader unlock to install custom roms. Till now ZTE doesn't offer a bootloader unlock for the axon 7 mini.
I am also very interested in this and hope that soon there will be something
There is a new tool for the Axon7. Mainly for backup and writing the recovery and boot partition.
There might be some hope for the mini.
Read what I wrote about it in the thread and try the "read" feature.

That sounds so great. I will try that at the weekend. Thank you for the information @celoxocis .

Let us know how t goes. I'm curious about if you at least read the boot and recovery using the tool.
It would mean the programmer was signed with the same key as for the Axon 7. I kinda doubt it because of the different SoC but you never know.
I'm on b21 and activated developer options for the first time, you can unlock the bootloader with a toggle of a switch, so maybe hope for a custom ROM?

Unfortunately that switch doesn't work. (At least on b12 I haven't tried b21 yet) I asked ZTE and they said that it was left over from their Chinese version of their ROM, and that they aren't "allowed" to have it work on the US model.

Apparently it works now, I am also posting on the ZTE forum and it allows adb commands from what was said, come on XDA I need root

fallen00sniper the option in the setting doesnt allow you to root the device, it is simply for ADB (commands through usb port) at this current time I have not seen any post on XDA or else where about anyone who has successfully rooted or unlocked the Mini yet. XDA would definitely be the best place to keep an eye out on that though.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7-mini
Nevermind, they said it doesn't do anything after saying it does.

Has no one tried the above mentioned tool?
Like said it can't hurt as long as you use the "read only" commands.
Is this root method not legit?
http://rootoreviews.com/root-ZTE-Axon-7-mini-install-twrp-custom-recovery
No it's not. It already fails at step 1. Downloading TWRP. There ist no TWRP for the Axon 7 mini.
Hello, ¿Any news about rooting this terminal?
Thanks
Hello,I asked ZTE about unlockoing the bootloader or rooting the terminal and this is what they answered me (google made translation):
Good afternoon,
In response to your request we will advise you that in order to enjoy the manufacturer's official warranty we must cover critical configuration options that can be modified and lead to a malfunction of the terminal.
ZTE does not guarantee the correct functioning of your terminal if you unlock bootloader; Task that we discourage. In fact, should such an unlocking be detected, our official guarantee would be invalid.
Greetings,
No hope for us at the moment.

You'll get hope if I'm able to get my hands on one. For now, you all will have to wait. Just don't give up on it if you're looking for custom Roms. It should get the same treatment as the Axon 7.

That doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't it be "allowed" I came to this section of XDA to research which phone to buy, I guess I won't be "allowed" to buy this model, since the bootloader can't be unlocked. I know I maybe in the minority, but I still vote with my wallet. Moving along I guess....

I'm shopping around for a new phone right now actually. First thing I always do when I find one that I seem interested in, is come here search and see can the bootloader be unlocked, what kernels are available, ROMs etc. Basically what kind of community support is behind the device. This is a large part of my decision to buy a phone. ROMs and kernels don't have be available right away, but if it's locked, support tends be lacking compared to other devices, so I tend to move along.
Again I'm sure I'm a minority, but if I want to change something, I want to be able to.
