[Fix] Hulu working + Flash.apk (Plus HBO!!!)

Been using this on my Nexus One for a while and gave it a shot on my HD2.
Hulu works from the browser but its better if you download the hulu bookmark app from the market
This app launches the Hulu.com sidebar page in a browser window. It will prevent your phone from sleeping and locking while the app is running.

You can also Google shadow.net and get the whole list of channels that are free and work with flash. I recommend that you download tv listings from the market and put in a east coast area code because almost all the American channels are on eastern time. I use 10001 and get the listings for time warner in southern Manhattan uncheck all then select the channels you want. this is the real deal HBO so you can watch boxing and NFL programs (documentaries).

Nice job
Just tested on Motorola Droid 1 overclocked from 250/800 the flash posted here plays audio like its being played in Slow mode. But the other flash fix the ones that's 3mb works great! Audio is clear and picture is nice only problem is that the video is choppy. Probably due to hulu player, flash, memory or cpu speed. Video on megavideo works and looks great. So I just think its the hulu player it self its having problems with. It maybe hulu player uses more memory or needs a better graphic card or processor to played? Idk I'll use this till hulu is done with hulu plus app for android. But if I could get this running flawlessly on droid that will save me 7 bucks a month which would be great. Keep up the Good work
Update : Just change kernel on cm running CPU at 350/1000 with no reboots and video runs flawlessly. Awesome!!! Awesome!!! Awesome!!! Good job man audio is in sync its perfect just needed Alil more power and bam! . Uses about 60 MB out of the 100 I had available starting off so pretty good only thing is if I run out of memory the flash cuts off and I have to restart any ideas?

thats really excellent, no more ball ache changing app icons
It works! This is exactly what I needed to do with a few widgets from some apps (their icons and label) but didn't have all that much time. Simply changed some widget icons/labels inside an apk, installed the apk and it works. Well done and thank you!
I install the apk by manually pushing it to the SD card though. The built-in barcode functionality doesn't work as expected. My phone browser can't open the generated link.

Cool, tnx for trying and replying.
Whaha, that rhymes! Sweet
Happy to hear it served you when needed
For now its barcode function will only work correctly if your phone is on the same network as your computer (so with wifi enabled.)
Maybe that's the limitation you encountered?
Thinking of ways to bypass this limitation, but have to keep in mind some security related aspects.

Hmm, should work without usb.
That was one of my design goals.
Yesterday had some similar problems trying to change system apk's.
Not sure yet, but the browser didn't accept the connection either.
Some technical background:
In the background it's nothing more than a temporary striped down C# webserserver hosting the apk file until it has been downloaded. So purely http here

Since the server runs on the local host without a client service/app or permission to the client, I don't think you can do that. I could be wrong but that's like Simple File Sharing in Windows (which I have disabled). Your network subnet access and those ports would be required to be open. I think the option would work if you had a client side app/service (for the phone) but then that would be like adbWireless
The adbWireless option runs fine with your app though. I actually just pushed in some Android files using it, no problem

True, your firewall needs to accept incoming connections to the program.
Problably vendor specific, but my build-in windows firewall asked me the first time I run the app if I would like to add it to its exeption list.
Be aware: the server will choose a random port every time it runs.
The client you are talking about would be the browser on your phone, It should automatically be activated when you scan your barcode (all free barcode scanners I know of have this capability in them).
Yep, the browser does open but doesn't recognize the link (no access basically). The generated link itself is valid because I can download it if I use the computers net connection over USB.

Android Market v3.1.3
Requirements: for all devices with Android OS
Overview: New Android Market / Adds +1 For Apps And Games, Pin Number For Purchases, And More…
(for all devices – does not require root, but you do need to enable ‘Unknown Sources‘ in Settings-> Applications.)
Changelog
- Adds +1 For Apps And Games
- Pin Number For Purchases
- And More…

Info:
There’s a brand-new settings menu, as well as click-to-read explanations of app permissions (not developer customizable, unfortunately). There’s also a brand-new Market icon to spruce things up.
Oh, and did we mention you can now use a custom PIN for purchases on your phone, instead of leaving your Google Checkout wide open for anyone that picks up your device? If you have kids, or your phone is stolen, this is one awesome feature to have – and really, it makes a lot of sense.
You can get the new Market .apk here, root access is not required, but you’ll need Unknown Sources enabled in the Settings -> Applications menu to install it.
Installation Guide:
1.Download the apk from the links
2.put the apk on the phone ,don't use adb install *.apk in won't work it will say it already exists
3.Open the apk from the phone using a File explorer (ASTRO for example)
4.it will ask you if you want to replace the current market, press yes.
5.wait for install and voila you have the new market
NOTE:this method replaces the old market.

a hidden folder called ".android_ secure"
and then delete the file
"smdl2tmp1 .asec". Unmount and you
should be good to go."

Thanks for this! 3.0 is a bit slow compared to the previous market. This installed no trouble and is running really really well on my Alpharev S-OFF rooted LeeDroid HD 3.3.5 data ++
Better than the previous 3.0.27 - performance wise.
It loads the screens faster and the download is faster on mobile network connection.

in my opinion 2.3.6 with slow mobile network is still 10 time faster
will the Desire update itself to this - as I am on 2.3.6 still and haven't moved automagically at all to either of the three incarnations of the marketplace... does it only roll out to newer (dual core?) phones?
has anyone seen it update itself without running the APK on any devices come to think of it?
anyone know how to make market update itself (silent update) to the latest version ?

Yeah! You're right! The 3.x market applications are very slow! When one starts the application, it runs almost OK, but gradually it runs slower and slower when the user browses through the applications. I wonder if Google plans to launch Android on PC! The vending application would run reasonably on a PC!

Really slow!!! Anyway to speed up??
Speed is fine for me. But i am getting duplicate entry for this version, everything else is really neat.
Really like the new PIN function
It's great, thanks. I only have one problem, can't see paid apps. They just loading and loading ... Can see only free apps
is this in english, or does it install, in the same language as the previous market?
Runs well on cm7. Thanx alot my man top shizzle.

i like the PIN feature..

[Q] Clone 2 Transformer Devices

I bought my 1st TF101 a few months ago. I just bought a second one reciently for my kids (they were using a G-Tablet). Anyway, I dont want to administrate 2 devices. What ideas are out there to clone 2 devices and keep them in sync?? I have used TiBackup, but it requires that the device be rooted. Asus has done a good job of updating, so I dont want to root and loose auto updates (if I understand the effect of rooting the Asus TF101, I will loose the online update ability and for ever on be required to manually download firmware & sw updates). I have done this to other devices and installed new roms, but I now own 2 asus transformers so I whont have to do this. I have other tablets to play on.
Thanks in advance
If you put revolver on them that has over the air updates plus then you can have root with updates and keep them in perfect sinc with cwm backups and ti backups
Or just manually back them up often and set perental control on the other tf so the kids dont mess with the software to much?

Nandroid backups/restore?
On phones, I use Go Launcher for my wife. I have CM7 on her phone which comes with Superuser, busybox, and a bunch of crap she shouldn't be snooping in. So Go Launcher looks nice plug gives the ability to hide apps.
MIUI on my G2x has a security app which lets me pick specific apps to require a security pattern. I typically do this for my games so my little 5 year old doesn't get in there and erase or screw up my games. I also do this for Gallery so people can't snoop through my pics.
We don't have MIUI for our Transformers, but I'm sure there are other security apps as such. The option is in Settings under "Access Control", which requires a password to open, then you can add apps to the list.

That you! I'll look into revolver.
1) Is cwm backup simply an option when I boot into the good old cwm?
2) Is there a good thread you can point me to about revolver and TF101?
3) Can you tell me quickly the pros and cons of these 2 choices
a) Install Revolver and root
I really want to root, but am scared that I'll become unstable. ALso Would you say Revolver is as stable as Base Asus?
or b) Simply root the asus base?

Uh... Restoring nandroid backups of one tablet on the other would most likely result in some identification issues with Android market. It'll either see two TF as one device or fail to list one of them entirely on the market. The only thing I can think of is having TitaniumBackup and having it upload to Dropbox for backups. Even then it is still nearly impossible to have the two in sync.
when i got my transformer after signing in with the Google account linked to my cellphone, my transformer automatically started downloading all the apps that were currently installed on my phone. i barely had to do anything other than setup my email and arrange my icons around..
google does a good job on its own with the built in backup/restore features.
Google is pretty good with the re'installtion of apps you have bought but I have found not so good with free ones and or the data that goes with them.
If you want to try it with TI backup all you have to do is root with the below method and then unroot before upgrading to new version. Then re-root again, All your root apps will still be there ready to request SU permission again when you run them.
Actually very easy and quick if you use the boot CD method, I know thats how I keep root and keep updated. Nothing wrong as I see it with a custom rom but just not what I want to do at this time The choices are yours to make and just putting this option out there.
I agree with the poster that said it will be less than perfect and you might have to move the TI backups from one unit to the other. I haven't had much luck with the cloud option>version of TI back-up working at all. Maybe yours will be better.

[APP]OpenBuildProp project

I recently went searching for a collection of build.prop for any and all devices and although I could find build props for several devices, I usually needed to know some specifics about the device and then search google for the build.prop. This is all fine and dandy for finding a build.prop here and there but what I really wanted to find was a centralized location for any and all build prop files. Will this be useful? Who knows, but it's easy enough to gather this data and present it in a way that is easily searchable and open to the entire public.
With that goal in mind I have started by creating a very simple application that will allow a user to upload their build.prop to my server. I'll be working on the server side to make it possible for anyone to simply browse through the various build props that have been collected via this application.
Participating is as simple as installing the app and clicking a button. After successful upload of your build.prop you can simply uninstall the app. If you are game for participating then please check use the link below to download the app and submit your build.prop. Once I get the server side all set up I will update this OP and provide the url for where you can access the acquired build props.

I agree and whoever offered to retweet about it and did not is a douche.
To be fair though, this isn't an entirely new concept. I have an app on the market that pulled specific fields from the build prop and would sync that up with a central DB if the user opted to do so. This goes a step further and collects the entire build.prop for later use, and for others to look up as well.
Not a bad idea, shall submit soon, could this also be expanded to be used (in the near future) to edit the certain aspects of the build.prop automatically, ie; to adjust Ro.product.model from default to Galaxy Nexus or which ever phone model, to make certain apps work , ie camera , and then back to default if you wanted to. mere suggestions though
I forgot that I had a modded build.prop . I tweaked it to make use of the 4.2 camera. Please pull the "Google Nexus 4 sgh-i847". I'd hate to be spreading false information
Fascinating I will be uploading mine as well, if I have a custom ROM will that change the build.prop in anyway?
great idea ...
submitted mine ...
I have been thinking a bunch about how best to optimize the information in the build.prop. There are so many non-standard ways of doing things.
One of my projects probes and sorts devices based on their build.prop and I am constantly amazed at how wildly they differ. Even sorting CyanogenMod and CM kangs is difficult to do well. Sorting by build date took me a long time as well.
I have a feeling you are going to see a bunch of modified info, as some apps and users mod theirs and then forget. But maybe you have some sor of aggregation method that will eventually overrule bad data.
I find it maddening that the build.prop contains no standardized information about screen resolution, i.e. large-mdpi or xhdpi, etc.
I will be looking, thanks for trying to make some sense of this world. It won't always be like this, thankfully. I am glad you asked me to vent my frustrations while I was here...:silly:
Edit: I have maybe 80-100 random builds on my desktop at any given moment, for bunches of devices. Any plans for a web uploader or did I miss it?
great idea! just submitted mine, hope many others will follow to make this collection successful.
Submitted mine and then realised after reading comments that it's tweaked, I went to your site to find it (under LT26i label). It contains v6 superchager data in the bottom of the file. Please remove it if needed.
