[BUG] Orientation sensor stopped working after official ICS upgrade - Nexus S General

What it says in the title. I lost all input from the orientation sensor after the official upgrade (from 2.3.6 unrooted to 4.0.3). I tested it in a game and in the Gallery app.
My phone is a I9023.
Anyone suffering from the same issue?

LOL, scratch that, a reboot solved it.
/me *phews*

LOL and i was pondering what were you smoking

can also confirm!

what we need to find out is what you guys did that broke the auto rotate feature and fix it
because it works fine for most people

Mine works fine on I9023.
maybe try switching orientation off and on again.
had the same problem before on another rom and a cheeky re-flash did the trick.

CM7 RC1 Issue

After doing a complete wipe and installing cm7 rc1 and google apps after the phone boots I cannot get past the initial screen where you touch the android to begin setup? Any ideas? I have tried re-downloading and re-instaliling about 3 times now with no luck.
I get the same exact issue....

Well, at least I am not the only one I guess...
For some reason you have to flash RC1 over the top of a previous nightly build for it to work. To be honest, right now, you're better just sticking with nightly #38 or wait for #39 to come out tonight as it is supposed to have a fix for the new lock screens.

If you use any of the new lock screens, it screws up the in call screen by having two different controls over the top of each other.
Meh...
...only issue I care about is the one that never will get fixed... TV OUT!!!!
MMS doesn't work. I get force closures on apps all the time, and have to reinstall them... then it happens again. Battery life seems amazing however!

I'm curious what people use it for on our phones, the quality is kinda low.

Uh... no you don't. I flashed RC1 as my 1st AOSP ROM I ever tried out, wiping before install, and it worked just great. It was in CWM 2.5.1.2 if it makes a difference
I managed to get CM7 on my phone without a problem. Right after I rooted using Unrevoked, i used ROM manager to download and install CM7 and it all went rather painlessly.
The lock screen thing is a little annoying, though. I wanted to use the lockscreen gestures that CM lets you do, but it layered under the lock pattern... all in all i find it pretty stable.

my screen rotates extremely slow

When I rotate my phone it automatically rotates but extremely slow.
I just got a new Epic...my last epic rotated instantly. Not this one.
Anyway I can change this?

Just watch the video I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKECs764ayE
Take it in and get it replaced. You shouldn't have to go through all the trouble to fix this yourself. There's clearly a hardware problem or some sort of glitch with the majority of epics. I had my epic with the slow rotation replaced. With the new one I never have the problem. I can flash all the roms I want and won't get the slow rotation glitch.

If it were a software issue wouldn't all phones have the problem? With my old epic I could fix the auto rotate but google sky was still messed up. My new epic has no issues what so ever. I'm not saying I know anything, Ill be the first to admit I don't.
worked great. thanks man!

No electronic device is ever created equal. All fail rates are based on a law of averages. Mine will always glitch out differently than yours, but most likely in a familiar way to myself.

I'd like to up this topic.
The vibration of my Defy is starting to weaken. I can't seem to notice it any more.
Is the engine dying after 1.5j? ...
Someone else having issues? Are there some DIY parts?
Edit: Ok, I changed the vibrate pattern and I can definitely notice it when it is on long.
So it seems that it is not net fully non-functional. Hope it won't fully die soon.

Devs can make some magic happen. Curious to see if the Wifi bug has been fixed. Question was asked in the I9000 link, but not answered yet.
Dang, some people on the I9000 thread are saying the wifi bug is still there. I was hoping it had been fixed since it has kept me off JVS Roms.
I'm guess in DC4 kernel or Talon should work here kernel wise, but not 100% sure. If anyone has been brave enough to give it a try, please give feedback. (Especially if you had the had the wifi bug in JVS). Thanks!
EDIT: Posted a fix (for some Belkin routers at least) in General section...and no, it's not setting up a static connection.

Yeah, if you didn't have the wifi bug on JVS, you should most likely be fine on JVT. It's got to be hardware build related.

LOL, I think that's here to stay. Luckily for me, mine only drops to like 98.
Just to update everyone, I flashed this with DC 4.0 kernel. Home button does not work, but everything else seems to be OK. Guess we'll have to wait for an updated kernel.
All I need is the modem.

Hello guys,
i didn't really realised it, but my girlfriend did! now it kinda annoys me too.. i dont know if its a generally problem or if it only appeals my girlfriend and me BUT did any of you guys realised the short blackscreen after unlocking your galaxy s4 with official kitkat 4.4 FW on it?

Not the lock animation. The UNLOCK animation. The screen turns off for a bit after you swipe to unlock.
