Has anyone managed to install the kindle launcher after putting on CM7?
I didn't manage to and I hope that it may trigger the stock kindle app to launch.
I don't know why anyone would. Wouldn't it defeat much of the purpose behind installing CM7 to begin with?

Have been using the Silk Port on my Triumph running CM7 and was wondering if it would be possible to port the Android Browser over to the Stock Kindle Rom. I do allot of testing for mobile versions of websites for a living and would like to do this on my Kindle. I am rooted and have been able to install the other browsers on the list of browsers each site needs to be tested on but have been unable to port the Android Browser onto the Kindle, has anyone else made any attempts at doing this?

I'm also trying to figure out if this is possible.
I really like the kindle fire launcher look and i want it on my n7, i prefere to have it only like a launcher but i tried instaling and it FC, i tried one tutorial here on xda but didint work out neither...
so... there is a way to make a port or have someone done it before
i have done some apps and started this guide today http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661770
how can i create a ROM using the kindle fire one for the N7
thanks
I've got an 8GB Nexus 7, rooted. It's still running the factory installed ROM, though, it's just rooted. I changed the pixel density so it could be in the tablet UI, but I noticed it was missing many games and apps (namely Angry Birds and Facebook), as is the entire section for Play Books. I reverted to the standard pixel density (213), but they are still missing. How can I get these back? Do I have to do a factory reset?
Usually changing dpi messes with things like that. I suggest installing a stock rooted rom and flash the tablet ui located in the android development forum or you could flash the Kaos rom which has the option to switch from stock to tablet ui back and forth in the settings. You might want to backup your apps and their data before doing anything.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Can you direct me to or recommended a certain ROM? I'd like to keep the full tablet UI, but I'd also like to keep the tablet as stock as possible and have 100% of the features 100% working.

Here is the link for Kaos - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797117
Great rom! It gives you options while installing, through aroma installer, practically any launcher and most kernels. I recommend you choose the stock kernel and the stock launcher. Runs smooth once you let it bake. Do not install the true tablet ui with the rom because you can switch to it in settings > system>status bar and it's under general.

Thanks, I will try it out for sure. I assume you flash via CWM?
Hey, thanks for the recommendation. It's an excellent ROM, and everything's back to normal.

Hi,
I am sure this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to get clear instructions on how to do it.
I rooted my NC last night. It is version 1.4.3 and I used the below method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494901
I installed this manual nooter: manualnooter-5.08.20.apps2sd.block_updates.zip
and also this kernel: Dalingrin OC kernel
So right now it is rooted - I just can't seem to get the play store market. The market that I see is very limited. Can someone please provide me detailed instructions on how to put on the play store?
Also - are there any other launchers that I can use/are recommended? Currently using the Zeam Launcher.
I want to be able to install games and play videos for my son - and I also want to be able to use things like Hulu and Netflix. Are there any other add ons that anyone recommends?
I am very good at following the instructions, just need them described in a way that I can understand as I am not that techy!
Thank you in advance!!
Market should update itself to Play Store as you use it. But that will not necessarily help with getting rid of the limitations. You may have to get your apps from other stores like Amazon.com or 1mobile.com.
I like ADW for my launcher.

What do you mean it will update itself? For example I searched for Candy Crush (yes, i know HAHA), and it doesn't find it? :/

read my edit above. Play Store is just a newer version of market.
Edit: Market/Play Store is sometimes very picky about what it will show as compatible with your device. Your options are to use other stores or install the app you have downloaded from another device.

Ok - thanks.
I also read somewhere that I should install gapps?
For the ADW launcher - can I find that on the market?

Gapps are included in manual nooter, you do not want to install again.
Yes, you should find ADW in the market.

Awesome - I will tinker more with it tonight TY for your help!
Another question, since you have been so helpful :
With the way that I rooted the nook, what version do I have? (Gingerbread, ICS, Honeycomb)
I assume knowing which version I have will help in terms of what apps will work on it and be compatible.
Thank you

Hi Leapinlar,
So I successfully got the play store working and some other things. Running Go Launcher as the launcher.
I was wondering, how do I go about making it a little faster? I notice that it lags quite a bit. I downloaded Nook tweaks, but have no idea on what to change on there. I have also been reading posts about Cyanogenmod 7 or Cyanogenmod 10 but don't know if that will make a difference. I do have most of the apps saved on the SD card as to not take space and memory. I also have clean sweeper installed to kill tasks.
Any advice? Thanks.

If you want the most stability and speed, install CM7.2 stable.
Follow this guide to replace your stock.

Or follow this guide if you want to install to SD and leave stock intact.

Hi all I am new to the forum my name is Owen......
I have a kindle fire HD 7.4.6 I have gained root access & downloaded many new launchers to try & so far I like "Go Launcher"
I have just one issue, when I apply themes they will NOT apply I get the same issue with other launchers too,so far I've tried Nova,Apex,My Launcher & a few others, but still if I download & install extra themes they will not set the theme image in the background or skin on the main home page, the icons change but that's it.
Please any info on this would be much appreciated,I've searched & Searched but found no answer to this problem...
Owen.

The post above you has a fix in his signature that is this link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42181794&postcount=75 give that a try.
You won't be able to install TWRP until you install a 2nd bootloader. Once you do that, you flash the ROM from there.
