Heey, I've seen a few threads on various sites about installing front facing cameras on certain phones (mainly the Samsung Galaxy S). But I also noticed that in the guides it requires you to downgrade the ROM on your device. Is it possible to install a FFC on an HD2 and run it with Android?
Phone: HTC HD2
Running: Android 2.3.2
Carrier: O2-UK

The SGS has a built in front facing camera? Doesn't it?
I believe there were some which were manufactured without one for some reason. Here's the youtube video I saw of someone installing it.
Cant post links cus im a new user, but if you search youtube for "Samsung Galaxy installing front facing camera" it will come up
There is no possibility to add front camera to HD2.

I was just wondering if there is any HTC Tattoo (also known as Click) for T-mobile G1? If there is, can anyone please post it here, please?
Fully working? no.
last I heard there is one being developed/ported but there is an issue with the resolution, so nothing yet as far as I know. The development is being discussed in a non-xda forum but I forgot the name. if I find the link again ill post it here, I think is was on the comments section of a tattoo user review somewhere, I don't remember.
Someone had ported it, but again due to different resolutions it's completely useless. I wouldn't get your hopes up on use ever geting a useable Tatoo port, just enjoy eclair
I think it is not possible because the display resolution is different between models. But if the version 2.0, I think that restraint no longer exist.
Tattoo is version 1.6, so ...
But I'm a noob in this matter.

Android 1.6 added official support for screen resolutions other than 320x480, which is why everything is scaled correctly (in theory atleast) on the Tatoo. The problem isn't a firmware limitation, the problem is all the drawables for TouchFlo, framework shizz and a few system apps are all too small. When viewed on a larger screen (not to mention one with a different aspect-ratio) they will either look blury due to upscaling, or won't be big enough to fit in with other UI elements. Basically it's a complete nightmare to port, but hey, stock 1.6 is better anyway
Hi everyone,
I'm new to Android having got my HTC Tattoo during the week.
I'm wondering if there is any way to get Android 2 (Eclair) onto my Tattoo? I've googled for it but there's only instructions for the Hero.
I don't care if its a vanilla ROM without Sense UI. I'm just looking for an update to help improve battery life and bluetooth functionality (plus I like to have all the latest versions of things ).
I emailed HTC about it and they said they couldn't confirm if the Tattoo was getting the update (which probably means it won't...)
Also, I'd rather not use a buggy beta ROM .
Thanks in advance,
Keith
PS: I know people managed to get a V2 ROM onto the G1 by rooting but I presume it's differen for the Tattoo because the different screen size, addition of FM radio etc.
I have a free app on the market that uses the front facing camera. It currently supports OS 2.3, and OS 2.2 for Sprint and Motorola devices. Can someone direct me to other resources for enabling the front camera on other devices (so I can stop hearing what's not supported)?
G2X, Dell Streak, Galaxy S, ...
Thanks

No, and there's no way to put Android on it for now.

Hi Folks,
I've noticed that on every SW update (ASBA, ASCA, etc.) the guys from samsung are releasing a new version of the Samsung camera.
I'm with the Exynos version of the S10+ (SM-G975F) and flashed the latest ASCA OXM firmware and prior to doing so, when I was still on ASBA, i've noticed that my Samsung camera version was 9.0.03.13, now after I've upgraded to ASCA, the version bumped to 9.0.03.25.
Now, as many of you are probably aware of, the picture quality in terms of post-processing of the samsung camera app is not the best.
I own samsung devices ever since the good old S2, continuing to upgrade every year to the newest model so yes - I had them all.
I'm pretty convinced that the S10+ picture quality is inferior to its predecessor I had (Galaxy S9+ Exynos) and even did some comparisons using professional tools such as PS and PS Lightroom and as I see it, the problem is not with the hardware but with the HEAVY software post-processing applied on the captured images.
I check the GCAM port page on daily basis but the versions offered there are crappy at best.
In addition, i'm checking for the latest Samsung Camera versions as well and yesterday I noticed that there's a new version available - 9.0.03.29 which I can't install. (my guess is this is a 'system' app type, so without rooting my phone, I can't install it)
Now, like I wrote above, they (=samsung) usually tend to bump many system apps versions with their updates, but AFAIK, ASCA is indeed the latest available firmware for the SM-G975F.
Can someone explain please how come they've release a new camera version without releasing a new FW?
Thanks!
Eviatar
I tried also and refused to install with no reason
After it said your app will be updated it says app is not installed

Probably the new camera version was released for another samsung model.
For example. I see that the Note 8 series got the update to Pie this week. So maybe the new camera version is for the Note 8 models.
A new version of a samsung app does not always mean that it is a better version than the previous one. It may just mean that it is a version of this app addressed specifically for the hardware and software of a specific samsung model.
