Stuck on CWM recovery - Kindle Fire General

Ive been following the CM7 for Kindle Fire (aka standing on the shoulders Giants)
And thought this looks simple enough to have a pop at and it was until half way through
I followed everything exactly I believe but now have got stuck ?
Clockwork loaded but now I’m stuck on the CWM recovery screen
Although it says install from sdcard complete it also says
E: Can´t open / cache/recover/Log
E:Can´t open / cache/recovery/Last_Log
Anyone have any idea how to move forward or backwards?
Any help appreciated

[Q] Cyanogenmod 7 Stuck on Boot

Hello all. I've tried to install Cyanogen mod 7 installed on my NC for a few days now. Every way I do it, it seems to install alright, but when it boots, it hangs at the loading screen indefinitely. I've started seeing that darn blue arrow in my nightmares. Any ideas?
Thanks

Seeing that you were able to reach those blue arrows, it means you were able to follow the instructions correctly. But just so we can identify what was done wrong, let's do an isolation test.
Does you NC have a blue/green dot in the box?
Where did you install the CM7?
What specific ROM did you install--is it experimental/stable/nightly? What build?
Did you install gapps?
Did you try to check the MD5 Checksum of the file you downloaded?
>Keep me posted, I'm willing to help out.
Alright!
I followed the instructions given at the youtube video titled "How to Install CyanogenMod 7 on the Nook Color (PC Version)"
(Sorry can't post links yet)
The rundown...
Installed CWM on SD, placed latest stable release of CM7 and gapps on SD root, booted into cwm, format/factory reset, clear boot, system, cache and data, (I was having trouble clearing \data, so i ran the repartition and reformat zips on his links.) flashed CM7 then GAPPS immediately after. Rebooting, I got the load screen, but it didn't go anywhere after waiting at least 15m.
My box has a blue dot on the back.
I haven't checked the Checksum of the file, not sure how to go about that/what that means.
Thanks for the help!
Can't help with the rest... but md5 sum is a code to go along with files so you know nothing got corrupted and the file was downloaded completely... there is a program you can get to check the md5... best I can do to help

It lookes like what I needed was a custom clockwork for my blue dot nook. Im all set up now. Thanks guys for your help.
Loadin up apps and games now. Suggestions?

[Bricked] Please Help! (In Pain)

Hi guys,
Okay title might be a little exaggerated haha but...
Recently broke my hand and one handed computing really sucks. So i grabbed my transformer from the closet that I hadn't used in months. It was acting pretty weird, very slow, and just unpleasant to use. I had previously had it rooted and had a kernal and rom on it, but wanted to revert to stock and try ICS. I really forgot how to do everything so I tried to use this guide:
http://theunlockr.com/2011/11/28/how-to-unroot-and-remove-cwm-recovery-on-asus-transformer/
Downloaded both files. and tried to get into clockwork but kept getting a big ! mark. Gooogled around and found that I could download recovery instller from the market. That got me to be able to get into recovery... I did notive that I couldn't get out of recovery and had to do cold boots to get past it. Still tried it though. When I finally got to uploading those files I still couldn't get ouit of recovery and cold booting just freezes.
Can someone PLEASE help me. I really want to be able to use the comptuter without suffering.
I just want to get it working and hopefully get to ICS.
Would not might using a custom rom if there is a stable ICS release u guys recommend.
If someone can step by step me i would be extremely grateful.
Thanks alot.

How did yo install cwm recovery? You mentioned RecoveryInstaller, I hope you didn't use Acer Recovery Installer.
The RecoveryInstaller for the TF is not available on the market. you have a link to the one you use?
or did yo use ROM Manager to install CWM, what version of CWM do you have, ect.
yea i used rom manager sorry
and i think it was 5.5.0.4 cwm
the exact thing happened to me, do you know if your tf is compatible with nvflash?
This *might* help

Thanks Ill try it now...
That still didn't fix anything.
The problem is I am stuck in the CWM.
Anymore help? please?

[Q] Need help!!! Do I own a paperweight now?

Hiya,
So I just rooted my Nook Color (1.4.3) for the first time yesterday, it went great. I followed this guys guide: youtube /watch?v=7cP27ABgGjE and I got it rooted (Thanks btw). However, I got greedy and I kerfuffled my Nook color. I wanted android 4.0 on me Nook and so I followed this guys guide: youtube /watch?v=Tl_bKxhPbeo&feature=relmfu . Long story short, I installed CM9 alpha 0.05 zip with CMR. It installed fine (or so I thought) and rebooted.
Upon doing so, I rebooted and now I can't get past the grey Nook color "n" logo. Everytime I reset I can't get past that logo. When I run the CWR off the sd card (I used 1gb_clockwork-3.2.0.1-eyeballer, btw), I get the following:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Any time I try to format the cache or data or anything from the "mount and storage" option, it just gives me an error. The only thing that doesn't give me any error is i mount/unmount the boot. When I go back (press power) I get the same string of errors.
I've looked around the net looking for a solution to no avail. I've tried the 8x boot fail thing and when I get to the installer, it fails...Much like me
Am I doing something wrong here? I'll be honest, I understand less then half of what people talk about on these boards, but I know enough that I'm not completely new at this either (Ah, old age). I need help, I'm frustrated... and cold... and a little hungry. I need any help, any at all on how to get my nook working again. Even if you tell me I own a fancy door stopper now, I just need something... something.

The problem is that rom was for the Nook Tablet, not the Nook Color. So it really should not have installed. It has checks in it to make sure it does not install to the wrong device. Are you sure your device is a Nook Color? The Nook Tablet has a silver bezel and the Nook Color has a black one.
Yea, It's the Nook color. I bought it when I first came out. I actrually tried istalling it twice. The first time it didn't install and gave me an error (can't remember what it was), So I tried it again and it installed with no prob.
Sorry, didn't see that you had alread confirmed it was a NC.

Well, you really messed it up if you installed that Nook Tablet rom on your color. I'm not sure how to get it fixed. It puts all the wrong stuff on the wrong partitions. You will probably have to search for how to repartition it and try to re-install stock. Try looking here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27902129
You might be able to just forget about emmc and install cm to SD and use it that way. But even with SD it tries to verify you have a nook color and you may have messed up emmc so much that it cannot verify it.

I had the same thought. I tried it off the sd card but once the little penguin pops up and the code runs it stops and gives me an error and asks me to power down. I tried the partition thing from clockwork recovery, it looks like it runs fine but it's still boot looping at the "n". I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1094371
*sigh* This is it isn't it? Any other suggestions

That one does not re-partition enough partitions. Follow DizzyDen's directions in the thread I last referenced.

Hallo again,
So upon looking at dizzys post... i got really confused. lol. I downloaded all the files and it looks like (to me atleast) that I need to use the adb shell in order to use those files. Only problem is my device isn't linked up with that and for some reason my pc isn't recognizing my device.
I could be wrong and am just a complete idiot. (I'll actually betting on that last part). Any advice on that, would help. (not on being an idiot, the other thing...the partition thing)
I did however install the dual boot from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448186 onto my sd card and I am able to boot up cm9 off the sd card. (kinda awesome)
I apparently i can no longer boot from my emmc (folders empty, don't know if that important), but I guess this sd mount will have to do.
Still, any further thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, you do have to ordinarily use adb to do what dizzy said. But you are lucky that you got the dual boot sd to work because you can do it from there.
Just boot to cm9 and go to terminal. Type su <enter>. You shoud have a # prompt. Now you can do the commands that dizzy wanted you to do from there. You should put those img files you downloaded from dizzy into /sdcard. Then do those dd commands dizzy had in his partitions.txt (one at a time). Hopefully that gets you back to an older stock on emmc.
Do you know exactly how awesome you really are leapinlar? No, cause I'm gonna tell you... your freaking AMazing... with a capital A and M, cause the A cannot contain the awesomeness of you so it had to spilled over to the M.
I ran dizzys .img files though the terminal just like you said, rebooted and now I'm back baby!!!
You don't understand how good I feel right now, I owe you a steak and a beer. lol
I'm glad it worked for you. I was hoping it would because I am working on a method to do the same thing with much smaller files to download. You were my tester and you did not even know it. Lol. Thanks for the feedback.
hahahaha. Glad I could help. lol

Tablet is not booting into recovery or Android... HELP

So my Nexus 7 was trying to boot into the Glazed Rom and it bootlooped. I tried rebooting into recovery, and it worked once but the sdcard would not mount to the PC, and now the tablet won't boot to anything accept fastboot, and I tried to use the all in one toolkit, but every time I tried installing the factory reset, the same thing came out saying FAILED Write command failed unknown error.
I cannot boot Android, I cannot boot recovery (65% of the time) and I cannot restore the factory settings, and I can't put anything on the device....and I just got it yesterday :crying:
Also, I just got it into CWM Touch through the All in One Tool, it can mount and unmount anything accept the sdcard. It says "Error mounting /sdcard"
Please. I am new to the Nexus 7 community, and was so stoked to root and try my new tablet but now I think I screwed myself. I don't care if it is rooted or not now I just want it to work :'( My Nexus S has had these bootloops but never failed to mount the Sd
to reset to factory default, use the tool by this dev "mskip" in dev section(sticky). It will get you the factory image and reinstall to your N7
I've used that tool twice already when doing factory reset. Nice and helpful tool.

I had this problem, use one of the tools to lock and then reunlock your boot loader, and everything will be fine
Note, in case it wasn't obvious, this will wipe your device lol

A500 running JB no longer booting

Hi folks. My A500 has been stationary for awhile. It was previously my XBMC player attached to my TV. I switched to a Tegra 3 device for that and bounced the A500 out. After it wasn't the xbmc device anymore, I took it up to a CM10 JB rom. It had been fine for months. I've had it sitting in a case with the power to it for awhile but haven't played around with it. I took it into work today to sell to a co-worker and now it's not booting.
It comes up to skrilax bootloader v8 booting primary kernal image and the acer logo. It fuzzes for a moment and then goes back to looking like normal. It just sits here and never proceeds to his boot animation. I *CAN* boot into the menu via power+vol down and I *CAN* boot into recovery directly via power and vol up. My recovery is TWRP 2.1.3 with touch. Sometimes when I boot into recovery, the TWRP blue screen gets out of the way VERY slowly. Sometimes, it's normal. Hitting the log shows it's spamming the console with a whole bunch of E:failed to mount /data (no such file or directory). E:Can't open /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 (no such file or directory) Unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
Then it verifies the filesystem and the partition sizes
Then more unable to mounts in /system /data /cache /sdc and /flexrom
In recovery, it seems not to be able to recognize my sdcard that it never had a problem with either. With the fact that recovery can run (and likely fastboot, etc) I think this isn't a lost cause. I don't even know why it went down in the first place. It's just been sitting idle, on power in a case for a couple of months.
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? My a500 is doing the exact some thing. Exact same behavior in TWRP and everything.

Find a solution to this? Have a customer that brought in their A500 to the shop last night, and it's doing the exact same thing. Says that he tried to turn it on one day and nothing. Sounds like the partitions and/or flash memory is hosed.

if tab was running ics or jb xda or stock rom Run the babsector.rar file linked above and post the output but u need to retrieve the cpuid. See srbeens sticky in the general forum for getting the cpuid/sbk via apx mode using linux.
If it was a tegra owners rom it may still be on the hc bootloader in which case u can flash a stock update.zip from the ext sd card.

Even though I haven't attempted fixing this yet (other projects are ahead of it), I was running one of Civato's roms so it came from here, not tegra owners. It was running an ICS rom for awhile and the loop occurred sometime after switching to a JB rom.
