I am a fan of Home Base but I have yet to successfully install the "Blue-Chronic" version and have the theme come active. When I look at the preferences for twlauncher it says the active theme is none and there are none to be loaded from the sdcard. Any help would be appreciated as I have done searches but have not been able to find evidence that anyone else has had this issue so I figure this is some kind of Noob mistake on my part.

Hi All
I have the most recent version of Oxygen which includes a "theme picker" app.
Similar to the one found in the HD ROM's it gives the opportunity to change the entire system theme, without flashing a zip. Which is good news
However, I have been trawling the internet trying to figure out how to create the .apk needed to create my own themes, failing miserably.
Could someone with the required knowledge post a tutorial maybe? Or a link to where the info is so that I can do my own research?
Thanks
i've not installed the test rom so cant check, but does it come with any theme.apk's pre-installed?
if so i'd start by pulling them apart and looking at the .xml and images and change them from there.

Do you know I didn't even think of that
I shall do so and see what I can come up with
Well I downloaded the Android SDK and all the tools required, then I installed eclipse and started a tutorial on how to build an app - as I assumed this is what I will need to do... but then my brain started to hurt and I needed sleep!
I'm hoping someone can tell me where to find the native D2 wallpaper that looks like a gray fingerprint swirl made of 1's & 0's - after installing apex2 rc2, I don't have it anymore :-<
I imagine that alternatively if someone can tell me where the current wallpaper we are using is stored in the directory tree structure, I can do a bootstrapped restore, save the file separately & then I'll be back in business w/that wallpaper again.
TIA, oldwolf
Here you go. It's the proper size and everything.
thanks so much! other droid sites have had a similar post for longer w/out any replies & less than 12 hrs later you came thru for me!
now I can go back w/out having to do a nandroid restore! w
Your welcome. I was looking for it too, figured I share the discovery.
all right, DeBaKai, now for another tap on the thanks bar- now that I told my D2 to use that pic in my Gallery->Download directory; do you know where the system has stored this 'new' wallpaper? & yes, I already backed up the pic w/MyBackup Pro ;-)
all the best, oldwolf
It should be in the "Download" folder.
sorry if I wasn't clearer- was not asking about storage location of image you were kind enuf to point me to after I d/l'ed it- but the storage location of the newly created wallpaper that I made fm your image via Settings->Wallpaper->Gallery- set as WP etc.
in other words by default, where does the OS keep the image file that is assigned as WP?
I'm guessing something like /system & some sub-folder...
all the best, oldwolf
Aaaaah......
I don't think it saves anywhere. I believe it just sets it as the wallpaper, and that's it.
so it is something like a win.ini file - so where is this setting made?
might as well get some more bkgd knowledge fm this...
Sorry, I really don't know.
Hi all.
I'm working on a custom ROM for the Nexus 10 based on the latest 4.2.1 build.
It's almost finished, but I'm struggling with a few things and though someone might be able to offer some assistance.
1: I'm trying to add the advanced power menu like is found in some other ROMs for the N10, but am hitting dead ends everywhere. I've found a few guides online but none seem to be relevant to this device. My ROM is de-odexed. I have decompiled the framework-res.apk file but can't find any clues.
2: I'm trying to disable OTA updates and hide the "System Update" option from the "About Tablet" menu, but can't seem to figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know both are possible as I have seem both working in other ROMs, but I don't want to rip off someone else's work.
Cheers,
Will
With some help from a fellow forum member I was able to figure out how to remove the "System Update" button from the About Tablet menu.
I modified the device_info_settings.xml inside the settings.apk file and recompiled it, then re-cooked the rom and flashed it and it worked perfectly.
Now I just need to find where the updater.apk or equivilant is hiding!
In the meantime I cooked in fotakiller.apk which seems to do the trick.
Cheers,
Will
I'm new to theming and trying to start simple: changing the battery icon. I used a drag and drop method to update the .png files. Still, no matter what I do I see the stock icons! I'm on shabby's kernel, deodexed mdl stock rom. Tried wiping caches and fixing permissions. Tried root exploring to drop the new apks, and tried reflashing the rom with the updated icons. All fail. I found icons in framework-res(stat_battery) and systemUI(ic_qs_battery). None of those changes have stuck. Can someone point me in the right direction? Wondering how it even knows where to get the stock icons since I replaced them all(I think). In rom toolbox, I see the icons I created as though they are installed. Just need to get them to the notification bar. Are there more places where the battery icons sit?

I'm confused on what "(ic_qs_battery) is. But anyways, assuming you did change the ones in SystemUI/res/drawable-xxhdpi correct?

The ic_qs was in systemUI drawable-hdpi. Didn't notice the xxhdpi. I'll swap 'em when I get the chance. Thanks a ton!
