CM 7.1nightly 257 its the best one available.

I like Cm7 N257 with Burstlam kernel. It has damn good performance. Check out Modaco's forum for Cm7(Blade section)
It even has softbuttons in the status bar Love that!
Sent from mah Blade

there realy is no rom thats better for games as another if you ask me.
The game performance is limited to what the cpu/ gpu can do rom aint gonna change much about that

used to be Swidish spring RLS4, games run well, then moved to gsf and cm7, some can't run anymore, i.e. need for speed 13 -shift.

Cyanogenmod 7 is the one performing best on the Blade of those ROM's I have tried.
I have also used the Swedish Spring ROM by Kalltkaffe and the Ginger Stir Fry ROM.

Fastest Nexus Rom

K guys
since we are flashing new rom daily lets create a poll which is fastest for us
for me i think cyanogenmod is fast
Oxygen 2.2.1 most definitely
...in bed.
CM7 nightly works great for me after setting the overclocker
#Devnull is the fastest rom out there. no question, it flies. follow by #oxygen 2.1.6
I'm on stock 2.3.5 rooted with the Touchwiz 4 launcher. Love it.
I would vote for MIUI (tried it, loved it), but went back to stock because no way to get to EPST and gvoice acts wonky on it in my experience.
i have tried Cyanogen, MIUI (all three) and Oxygen. Oxygen is without a doubt the fastest!
Oxygen is fast but has severe browser lag (just like stock) - I have changed to NScollab based on cyanogenmod nightlies. No browser lag and fast as hell
Definitely NSCollab with the new Matr1x 5.5 OC'ed kernel. Score's well on all front's & is stable enough to be your daily driver

SuperOSR [formally SuperAOSP] though I would say DevNull 1.1 is blazing fast too. Usually its compromise between speed and features. Everyone has his/her own preferences
Oxygen 2.2.1 is vefy very fast : much faster than 2.1.6
Oxygen is faster than Cyanogen, nscollab and Stock, for sure.
Battery is better in Cyanogen

Try Oxygen with matr1x 5.5 : helped me.
Also, you can increase a bit the minimum cpu speed to 400, but will increase battery consumption 1% per hour in stand by.

i'm kind of dissapointed, i was expecting to see some screenshots of bench scores
come on guys show us some screens
I haven't tried many roms, but it's hard for me to figure out a rom faster than latest NSCollab 1.0.38 with Matr1x kernel 5.5
I say this because my phone runs smooth like butter, fast like hell, good battery life...almost unbeliavable!
But in reality I don't think this survey is correct as I'm confident that fastness and smoothness is only a question of Kernel, not the entire rom!!
Quadrant score: 3600 - 3800
Vellamo score: 930 - 940
who told u lyk that?
70% depends on rom and 30% depends on kernel

With NScollab + Netharky kernel my phone has many lags in launcher and app drwaer...that lags disappear if I install Matr1x kernel !

Fastest rom/ setup?

My gf has a hero rooted etc but its insanely slow! I'm not sure if it hardware or software related so I thought I'd whack a new rom on it and clock it to see if that helps although its been dropped alot
What's the best rom / setup people recommend?
Is there a way to test for hardware faults?
Thanks

Fastest Rom is vanilla Eclair, but other fast roms are decked if u want gb, heroine if u want sense and rose if u want gb sense ;-)

What's gb? She just wants something that works properly at a decent speed
ATM loads of things are going wrong and battery disappears when the phones screen is off etc

There is no MiUi for the Hero. As mentioned above i recommend the decked rom if you want gb.
I just installed elelinux custom v2 rom on it, what's the decked rom?

Probably Vanilla Eclair or Decked if you want no sense.
Or Heroine if you want sense. Take your pic
Definitely Decked_X if you don't want Sense.
Hey Thank's for your input.
Because i like and want sense ui, i've flashed heroine++ ... yes it's fast, but i missed some features from gb roms so i flashed WildHerocV5 and added the V6supercharge script.. and it feels almost the same as heroine speed almost!
It would be nice if there is some GB2.3.7 (CM7.1) rom with sense! I previously have flashed Decked_X, and tried to apply some themes and stuff to get the sense look and i had no luck.

at some point all the roms I tried becomes slower or more sluggish, maybe because of the other reasons, just try to use and keep apps you really need, know whats running in your background and get a phone with 1ghz or more processor to handle picture and web browsers fluently..(kidding) thats a reality, you can tweak, get some light roms, but then you'll loose a lot functions, then you will have to install aditional apps you don't like... then a phone because of those apps becomes sluggy again and even buggy... need to look for updated comfortable rom and go with the idea that hero is a bit of a granny. Try Lewa OS RC2 port for GSM hero.
Been using for more than 24 hours and so far only positive opinion.
fast, stable and has comfortable user interface.

Greeting to all of you for creating a wonderful community!!

Hi guys,
I been a silent follower to this forum and respect all the great works done by all the devs, mods & members. I am certainly new to this forum but not in forum world.
I must say i am new to Android phones but not to Androids as i have few tablets for last few years. Its been fun flashing, rooting & using multiple custom roms in my Tegra2 Tablet and so Android does fascinate me like you guys.
Apart from my Iphone recently i got another phone, it's Dell XCD35 / ZTE Blade Gen2. I know ZTE Blade has a great community with tons of customized roms.
Being new to this forum i guess it is taking some time for me read so many thread and try understand different roms available.
Can anyone suggest me any rom where i can get stable performance, good battery life, fluid animation, overclocking & other features.
I am aware of Apha ICS rom and being not so stable & many apps doesn't work smoothly its not my choice right now.
Appreciated for all comments & your valuable time.
I would go for the LG Mode ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442517
It's got pretty good performance, nice animations, and on top of that; it looks wonderful!
Overclocking is possible, and with my Blade running at 729 Mhz and the governor set to "Lag-free", it's even smoother to run. Would definitely recommend that ROM. It's also got a built-in root explorer, and a smooth theme changer app, and a seriously good battery life!

Thanks amelo007 for the suggestion mate and will defiantly look for it. First impression: the rom looks very neat.
Any more suggestion guys?
The LEWA OS is a pretty sweet ROM as well. It's got a cool different interface in the phone settings, and not to mention the homescreen and app-drawer.
The only thing that I find to be a bit silly, is the fact that this ROM is actually Chinese, so there are a few translation mistakes, but other than that, it's damn sweet.
It's kinda quick too! It also has the ability to overclock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428831
i use cm 7.1 n257 for daily use and its awesome and performance wise the best.
use it if u play games and need performance.
lewa os is good and is updated every friday via ota updates but only has 2 languages with some errors in english translation.
if u want to try ics try alpha 5 fix 2 almost evrything is working and its damn good (its my second rom)
u can even try fish and chips its a light and very fast rom if u want a light rom with very smooth scrolling

Yes, but stil fast and stable
come on guys....i m trying to find the fastest - stable best custom rom!
MIUI
For me the smoothest rom seems to be MIUI (Galnet or Miuiandroid). With a custom kernel (Fugumod with Voodoo Color) i succeded to obtain also a good battery life. In the morning is 100% charged, in the evening 20% battery remaining (100+ apps installed). I've tried in the past a lot of roms but for a month i stayed on MIUI.
Smoothest and fastest roms are the ones with the best ram management and the most free ram. Hence, froyo 2.2.1 roms were less laggy than gingerbread roms.
However, now that we have bigmem kernels, gingerbread roms can become relatively free of microlags.
Hence, I would recommend the Gaming rom as it was made to minimise backgroud ram consumption.
the best rom is darky for sure..
especialy the 10.2 version. just rocks
or criskelo v62 awsome!
Jetpack Mod
I have tried most roms, F1 innovation, Darkys, SURFACE, etc. Jetpack mod is by far the most stable and fast rom I have ever used, the battery life is incredible too. I would recomend the JW1 version, as I dont like JVU very much
I've been using an Israeli ROM called PilotX 4.2 (2.2.1).
Yesterday I've installed F1 inovation.
With semaphore 2.4.0 and it's pretty AWESOME.
Sent from my SGS... Me LIKE it.
jetpack 8.2 jw1 f1 innovation are on the top now?

defy + choosing rom

Hi there, I'm new to the defy+ scene (not the android scene though) and after browsing for a while through the defy android development section I couldn't really tell which are the main-most popular custom roms for the DEFY+ (plus) ICS or JB versions (no GB) also AOKP/AOSP.
I'm looking for a rom that is very stable smooth (not necessarily the most powerful-fastest) and has good battery life.
Could anyone please help me out listing the pro & cons of the most popular custom rom for defy+ (like MS2Ginger, MIUI, CM9, aokp aosp..this list is by no means complete, so in case i'm missing some others, please let me know) thank you very much and sorry for the noobish request :silly:

This question has been asked so many times :silly:
Just take your time and search this forum. For example look here
I'm using myself this ROM. Different people, different wishes
My advice: download and try some of these ROMs and if you don't like it, try another one
in first place, a topic like this sounds like fishing for me...:cyclops:
mate, try miui v4 by stefan brown.
i've tryed many others roms before, and for sure this is the most stable, fast and trustable one so far.
i've tryed CMX for a while, but it lags a lot and still got random reboots.
Thanks guys for the suggestions, and what about CM9 ICS for defy+?
If you want speed, good battery life and true android experience ,you must try [CM10] Jelly Bean Cannon v8.1.1 .
And if you like MIUI style , there is Moto Ice Gun Edition V2.02 (CM10). But its not updated frequently ..thats the only disappointment
Then there is [ICS] CM9.1 Android 4.0.4 by Epsylon3 ..which is being reported by its users as most stable ics rom ..although i have never used it :silly:
But as far as my experience goes, the most logical thing right now is to stick with CM7.2 because cm9 and cm10 uses a lot of RAM , and no matter how much you tweak it , it will be the same (laggy, low battery life, slow app switching rate).
And the most stable and performance based rom according to me is [CM7] WhiteRabbitNextGen Edition 2.1.1..i myself am using it right now...its best for games which tend to lag a lot in cm9/10...temple run2 plays without any lag...and we can switch app to app instantly...try it and u'll never turn to any other rom
