Yes, Ive mention in my first post that I can get into HBoot and Recovery
well that's good.
just go into recovery, wipe all data, and try reflashing a rom OR reflashing a nandroid backup.

H,
Thought you might have some insight into this
The problem I have is it only shows the splash screen (stock splash is green "myTouch 4G" on white background) when
starting the phone.
Before this happened I had rooted the phone and updated the ROM and was putting some patches on the phone, Recovery shows
info as s-off.
To do a recovery I downloaded the stock ROM from a link here at XDA
(PD15IMG_Glacier_TMOUS_1.17.531.2_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155771_signed.zip I also did a hash check and it downloaded fine no corruption) renamed image with the exact name PD15IMG.ZIP (made sure it was not a
PD15IMG.ZIP.zip) and copied it into an empty 1 gig SD memory.
I re booted, did a factory reset x 2 after going to boot-loader, that did not help so I inserted the SD card with only
the PD15IMG.ZIP image in it and rebooted to recovery, but recovery does not ask me anything when it looks for the
PD15IMG.ZIP it says no image or wrong image (it also looks for PD15DIAG.ZIP, PD15IMG.nbh, and PD15IMG.zip same
message) and puts me back into recovery.
Any Ideas on what I should do ?????
Thanks
I saw someone post that with this radio u gotta flash it in hboot and then go into recovery and clear cache or else this is what happens..

You shouldnt be going into recovery to try and flash the pd15img.zip. You have to go into hboot and wait for it to prompt you to do it.

^ what he said , those pd15img's should only be flashed in hboot , if it doesnt work then flash a reliable rom in recovery like cyanogenmod , if it continues to give you a splash screen , you MIGHT , have a failed emmc , theres always a chance , it happened to my G2 , it just randomly pooped out on me.

Hi guys,
I've tried using unrevoked 3.3 on my wildfire, with android 2.1, didn't work - so I tried 3.2 and I got the ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 on there, I can boot into that now,
But still not knowing how to root it,
Can someone give me some advice from here, I get the "Internal error" message and can't go any further, but I assume you can manually do it, since I've got the clockworkmod recovery on there,
Toby =)

if you have clockworkmod recovery then that means you rooted it, just put a custom rom onto your sd card, boot into recovery and install zip from sd card. do a nandroid backup of your rom first.
When I try using Titanium Backup, I get a failed message...

Nope, you should be fine.
Thank you, I'll let you know how it goes, is Wildpuzzle rom trustworthy? It's been around for awhile right? =)
Yeah wildpuzzle is good, I used to use it.
I had abit of a freak out, I wiped my phone then couldn't load any custom rom =( But now its loading, hoping it works...
I don't know if the rom is loading or not, the screen with the android symbol coming out of the box showed up now and white backgroud with the "HTC quietly brilliant" animation seems to be sitting there forever,
I installed the SUnAaBh v1.1** rom from sc card,
Does this seem right?
First boot takes 10 to 15 min.
You should have done a nandroid backup of your stock rom first, oh well.
If it doesn't boot, do a full wipe, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache in recovery and flash again.
After like 2 or 3 minutes, the screen goes black then the HTC logo screen comes back on and loads again, makes me think its in a loop and no installed right =\
Do a full wipe and try flash again. If it doesn't work, try a different rom.
Yeah, I did a back up with nandroid then moved the files to my computer incase, they was in a folder called orangeworkmod folder?,
Wipe cache?

Yes, you should wipe data and cache before installing a new rom. They are all there in recovery.
Okay, yeah - its all good, was just taking time, does wildpuzzle rom have overclocking feature, or is that a application?
Ok so my girls evo 4g is still stock and NONrooted. She was having some connection issues and we called up sprint. They had me punch in some numbers in a menu that came up buy pressing ##somenumbers#. after i entered the numbers they told me to a promt came up saying "press ok to reboot" and i did that. after that the phone is now stuck in a boot loop. They dont know wtf happened so they are sending her a replacement but since its on "back order" (wonder why, they're always on backorder lol) they say itll prob take about 1 week or 2 before we get it and in the meantime i dont need her tieing up my phone (its MINE gdamit) im wondering what i can do. The phone will go into Hboot and Android recovery (3e) so i was considering trying to install the PC36img on her phone but i dont want to screw anything up. and since i cant get bast the boot screen i dont know what to look for so i dont mess up.
Again:

well thats what i was thinking of doing but cant seem to find a recent one and ive been to Shipped roms but im not sure what the latest ota one is
the current image version on the phone rite now is 4.24.651.1
I will help you out if you haven't found the solution by the time I get home. Basically find the zip of 4.24, rename it PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of the SD card. Boot into hboot and it will scan and find the file. Follow the prompts and you should be good.
The site to get it from is Goo.inside.me or something like that. It would be in the Supersonic section

This all happening after i erased my old rom, I cant load a new one on it cause it always aborts it. What can i do to get it back to stock to re-root it, or get CW recovery to work right again :-/

flash the PD151IMG.zip file through bootloader, THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA, AND RETURN YOU TO STOCK MT4G 2.2.1. this is so you can root again.
download link here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V4NAODYZ
once you have it downloaded:
1) move to ROOT of sdcard (not in any folders)
2) make sure fastboot is OFF
3) reboot phone into bootloader by holding power and volume down buttons.
4) the phone should find the file, and ask if you want to "update"
5) select yes, and let it do it's thing. BE PATIENT
6) hit the thanks button (IMPORTANT )
7) after returning to stock, get the phone rooted again and flash a rom on there.
WARNING: IF IT SHOWS FAIL-PU, THE PHONE IS BRICKED.
Fail-PU means that the partition update has failed, due to the fact that the phone cannot write to the eMMC chip anymore, because the chip has died.

Which recovery are you trying to flash and how?? via PC36IMG?
Thanks for the reply!!! recovery-RA-supersonic-v2.3.img. and update-cm-7.1.0-Supersonic-signed.zip I tried both as pc36img from HBoot and via fast boot. neither worked. I also tried to install to change boot.img via fastboot. same message.
Look for the Amon Ra thread in the Development section, grab the PC36IMG.zip Make sure that it's named exactly like that and flash that in Hboot. That should give you recovery.

Well this happened to me once, what i did was i put on my sd card any other rom (i was using cm7 nightlies so i put another nightly in) and then i wiped cache and flashed it, however it might also help if from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295702 you get the format all zip and use that to wipe everything. once you have flashed another rom and your phone turns on wait a little bit and then try once again to flash the first rom you were trying to flash.

Holy Cannoli!! Ok that .zip worked for the recovery (I tried several different downloads!) Now I have to see if I can copy an image. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the info. I totally though the phone was bricked. Actually the phone would load in HBoot and Fastboot but I couldn't get a recovery on or a ROM. In other words there was no ROM to boot to. In addition to that, wether I tried from SD card or fastboot, I couldn't get any .img, .zip etc to install. So here I was with an HBoot - S-off and no way to get a recovery or ROM on the puppy. I am still working on this and still jammed up but the recovery gives me hope. Please stick around in case I have a meltdown. (hasn't happened yet but I can feel it getting closer!) LOL
Stick around for the detail of what I did If I can get this ROM onboard! Maybe this will help someone else.
Success!!! I have a recovery and a ROM!
Here are the details...First I believe my SD card was/is corrupted. I am still using it and I formatted it several times but I think something was squirrely which is now fixed. Second, the Amon Ra PC36IMG.zip that I downloaded at : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026&highlight=recovery
worked awesome to get a working recovery via HBoot and SD Card. Next, I used the new recovery to load my ROM. and Voila a working phone.
Moral of the story, Check the SD card, USB drivers, and file downloads for corruption. I think one or all of these played a part in my crash.

I know I sound like a broken record but try formatting your SD card or using a different known good card and also use the link in my post above to re-download the pc36img.zip Amon RA Recovery. Then you know all the components are "clean and without erro". Then you can start to figure out the problem.
is there anything else i can do to flash roms still? or am i stuck on my icecoldsandwich backup forever?
Bootloader version?
how would one go about locating this?
Reboot. When your screen goes black and backlight on keys goes out hold down volume down to boot into bootloader. Write down the info displayed at the top of the screen and post it here.

Yes it is relevant. Very. Ever since the HTCdev unlocked boot loader came about I've seen some weird things. By telling us what bootloader he has we know exactly what he is dealing with.

Engineering bootloader. So you should be good to flash another rom. Reflash CWM recovery using ROM manager, just in case there is sonething wonky with your recovery. Download your desired rom. Reboot into recovery. Make a backup. Go to mounts and storage. Format system and data, and wipe cache. Go back to main menu and hit wipe data/factory reset. Then install your rom.
If you have tried those steps before to no avail then.... I don't know.
Tried flashing cwm again through rom manager again. I was getting hopeful when I noticed the bootanimation was lasting longer then usual...then my heart sank when it froze.
Just to make sure I did it right
I reflashed cwm using the rom manager app
Formatted system data and cache under mounts and storage
Factory data and full wipe them cache and dalvik
Flashed the latest version of the ice cold sandwich rom
And then freeze..
No, that was pretty frickin thorough. Man.... what a drag. I don't get it. Does anyone have any ideas at all?
Flash a non ics Rom, that might be it

what if you tried flashing one of those RUU files at least to get hte phone back to stock.
You know where you hook your phone up to the computer and then run the .exe file from your computer?
