Well, according to similar threads, this looks like it's a problem with quite a few phones, yet no one has been able to give a solution
Basically, the problem is that when I stream audio over bluetooth to my VW 2011 Jetta SE's stereo, every 1 or 2 minutes, the audio stops playing for a second and then fades back in.
Things I've noticed:
I'm fairly certain that the audio actually stops playing for a second rather than the volume going down for a second because I decided to test it out with a metronome. I started the metronome in sync with the music, but after the short audio cut, it became slightly out of sync.
I first noticed the problem when I flashed a Froyo Sense rom way back when (forgot which rom), but it would only happen once within a few minutes of connecting my phone to bluetooth. It wouldn't appear again until the next time I would connect to my car's Bluetooth. Not a big deal
Then I flashed a Sense 3.0 ROM. This is when it started happening every 1-2 minutes. Every Gingerbread Sense ROM I've tried after that has had this problem.
I decided to flash MIUI to try it out, and I noticed that the problem had gone back to only just happening once within a few minutes of connecting to BT. So the problem was definitely not the switch to GB, but most likely Sense on GB.
My friend has the same phone as me and has the same problem in my car, but does not have this problem in his car, so this led me to believe that somehow the combination of my car's system plus Sense on GB is not mixing well.
Problem persists in Sense 3.5
I have yet to try CM7 yet to see if that also has the problem or not.
I will regularly bump this thread to make sure people see it so that SOMEONE can figure out a solution to this problem because it's DRIVING ME INSANE (well, you know, unless the mods are like "**** you stop bumping this ****")
bumpin' as promised.
and i'm bumpin' again
Have u tried switching radios? I a2dp stream to my after market indash DVD player and never gave any issues.
Running tdj dark side runny with .26 radio.
Although i remember when the phone first came out there were massive issues with bt connections to certain in dash stock decks, but believe it got resolved over time with ota updates

I have been keeping up to date with radios. I just flashed the latest radio and went back to the stock rooted GB sense ROM and BT seems to be working fine, but I don't know if that's just because it's the stock ROM. I'll try flashing Darkside Sense or Virtuous Affinity and see if the problem returns.
I have the same problem with my bluetooth every minute and half it cuts out then fades back in I drive a 2011 golf. I noticed in my moms 2011 acura rdx turbo it doesn't fade out period. I believe its just the volkswagen bluetooth setup

Welp. Tried Virtuous Affinity. BT Problem came back even on the latest radio. I just got a replacement phone because the vibrate on my phone stopped working for whatever reason. I'll flash it on that to see if it works.
Welp, flashed new phone with Darkside Sense. Same problem :/
Thanks for posting this. I have the same problem with my new Passat. I listen to audiobooks on my long commute and the problem is severely irritating in that context. The first 1-2 words are chopped out of the sentence every 30-60 seconds, because narrators pause their recording to edit or practice inflection or whatever. Result: having to guess what is going on in the story while restraining myself from punching the dash. I'm resorting to aux cable for now and will watch this thread to see if it's ever resolved.

I have been searching for an answer to this for two weeks with no success. I apologize in advance if the question has already been answered… I couldn't find it.
On Sprint's Hero, when setting up a headset (in my case the car radio BT adapter) one can enable both Phone and Media. Supposedly, this should allow a user to listen to tunes/podcasts/Sprint Nav and be able to use the phone when needed through the BT. Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way.
If I'm listening to something on the phone and wish to place a call, I will enter the contact and start the call. The phone responds by pausing the audio program I'm listening to as it should, but I get NO AUDIO from the phone! Nothing! The call is placed and the recipient hears nothing also!
Now; If I'm listening to something and a call comes in, again, as would be expected, the audio program gets paused and the phone rings through the BT. Unfortunately, there is no auto-answer in Android 1.5 (grrr!), so I reach over and press the Answer button. Lo and behold, it answers! but over the phone's speaker and mike instead of the BT!
They refused to accept that it was a problem with the phone at Sprint. Is this fixable? Can I look forward to it working in Android 2.1? Is there anyone else experiencing this problem?
As far as I have read/heard its a known issue that I think one of the roms here may have corrected. I will look around and see if I can find the thread, its been more than a month since I read it. Maybe MoDaCo but again, I will have to track it down.
EDIT:
Personally I wouldn't look towards anything in android 2.1, sprints release could be as far as 6 months away.
I'm currently using MoDaCo's UNOFFICIAL v1.3 ROM. I've tried this with his 1.1 and UNOFFICIAL 1.2 as well. I've also tried Fresh's ROMs without success.

So maybe no one fixed lol
I've been bouncing back and forth between different roms, I used to love sense but now I am a Vanilla Convert...My wife though is firmly stuck with sense. My problem is I having been using EZHero 5 with the 6350 bluetooth firmware and In our 2010 Mazda3 the bluetooth works pretty much 100% a2dp,phone,media audio. on any of the 2.1 sense roms the phone connects to the car and calls work good but when you play media it is playing it faster then the normal playback speed, so music is in fast forward. I have attempted replacing the firmware from the aosp roms but it does the same thing...So is there a way to fix this...why is the AOSP bluetooth stack different enough from the sense stack where problems like this occur?
Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this for me.
Thanks.
really nobody has any ideas?
What about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=704976 ?
Thanks for the reply Feeyo!
I actually tried that thinking maybe that was the problem with all the sense roms, so with adb I removed the 6300 firmware file and replaced it with the 6350 posted in that thread, rebooted and the same thing happens, tonight when I get home I am going to try flashing your newest Cronos and then using Elemag's newest Kernel based on HTC Source and see if that changes things.
Thanks again.
So I've searched using "keywords" and scoured through many similar posts on this issue within the forum and through Google with no luck, so I'm posting this request now.
Is there any way to prevent a new message/text notification sound from halting music playback?
I hook up my phone to the car to blast the music but when I get a text, it stops/halts/pauses the song, plays the notify sound, and then resumes playback.
I don't want to turn off the notifications all the way, I just want to have the notify sound play OVER or ON-TOP of the music playback
The phone is still running just the stock rom, but if you guys suggest an app or rooting, then I will do whatever it takes, thanks!
This is part of MOST phones. My phone does it, the G1 does it, my friends BB does it.
thanks fenixnr....so is there nothing that can be done to correct this on an Android device?
I know in the past I've had Windows Mobile devices with the same issue (Xperia X1) and some of the ROMs I flashed on it corrected the issue while others did not. My HD2 doesn't have this problem and it has a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack too.
Am I the only one who has noticed this
I was hoping someone else would have wanted the same thing resolved.

There is nothing to "resolve" as I am pretty sure that is by design how it should work. I cannot test this now, but try putting your phone into a silent mode when listening to your music... Of course, keep your media volume up for your music.
If memory serves me right I think that cm kanged expresso rom had the feature to play notification out of the speaker when headphones were plugged in. Cm6 might have that feature too. I'm not sure though.

So CyanogenMod-6 might have improved on this? [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755118&highlight=kanged]
Sounds exactly like what I was looking for and this is a Froyo build too? Thanks slinky, I'll give it a shot!

honestly if its only a problem when you plug your phone into the car, just put your phone on vibrate or turn the notification off.
Yeah this is honestly the one thing buggin' me right now.
I walk to work it's about a half hour walk to and from and I don't give a damn about my notifications during that time. Hah.
I posted this in the Virtuous Fusion HD thread but didn't get a response so I'm posting here hoping it would get more attention here

Has anyone had a problem with playing music over Bluetooth where, every few minutes, the music would cut out for a split second and fade back in?
I was using eVil 4G-HD ROM before this and it would happen once every few days, but ever since flashing this ROM, it's been happening every few minutes and is a bit annoying. Any ideas?
Edit: I'm also pretty sure it's not just the music app, since this happens while watching videos as well.

I have exactly the same issue as you!
I had this issue with the Fusion and now Unity ROMs, tried on my kenwood 945bt head unit and the audio will cut / fade out for a fraction of a second and then come back. Almost if there's an error in the stream that the head unit is correcting for.
Would love a solution for this because its SO ANNOYING
Oh and still thanks to evil D for all his work because these ROMS are fantastic
Hi everybody..
As it is a general problem i decided to write my complaint in here, All of the operating systems have the same problem.
Lets start from the beginning.
I'm a 2 year (almost) HD2 owner.
I've used my HD2 WM 6.5, and after a long long time just tried my first android release. Core droid, and then cyanogen 7.
I never had problems while listenning music in my device.
But always had complaints about my battery life. It is consumed at the end of the day at minimal usage.
I did flash 2.14.50 to my device which had 2.15.50, from my latest original rom (3.14), just to try my battery consumption. I saw no diffrence and then back to 2.15.50.. in the tri colour screen.
And then I decided to try WP7!
Everything was fine till i realised that i cannot listen music.
Application stops and pauses by itsself. means that music interrupts anytime, anywhere no matter if i press buttons or not. Its so annoying!
Some people on the forum told me that this using speakers instead of headphone might be the origin of the problem. But the problem exists with my newly bought headphones. So thats not it!
I dont know what to do with my phone right now.
When i play a song using androids stock music application, songbird starts by itsself and ruins my whole joy!! overlays my songs, something stops my songs triggering something in the background. Intresting things going on at the background.
I need to find an explanation for this.
Explanation and a solution. Because i dont want to carry my old ipod anymore
Any help would be really appreciated.
Here is a post that i sent yesterday about this problem yesterday in cyanogen topic.

Wireless - wifi problem should be, a "radio unit" problem i think.
The whole thing started with my radio unit upgrade

Sabi RAZON
Okay, After reading through your thread. Did you upgrade your radio unit or just update the radio software? Because if those issues were coming after a hardware upgrade then it is probably the cause. If not, try radio 2.12 .
As for the birds song and noise in Android in the background, a logcat would be helpful if it's not hardware related . (adb logcat)
