Not sure if CM7 had hdmi mirroring but I got portrait mirroring working by installing HDMwIn app from the market. In the app, it says it works better with a kernel made for it. I was thinking that since TeamWin has the source code for the kernel here, it could be possible to make a kernel for the Atrix and we could have full hdmi mirroring on CM7 and possibly AOSP roms.

pretty sure Portrait mirroring works in cm7 on the atrix without any apps or hacks. Landscape still does not work
portrait mirring was already in cm7 roms ROFLMAO but you got me to read this thinking that someone got landscape mirroring for cm7 which would be beast! "hint hint" to the modders its only a matter of time ( someday bro someday)

Well the title pretty much explains it. I bought the cord but liberty doesn't support it. What roms do and is there any way to get it on liberty or fission. Please and thank you

Yes, but be sure to switch to the blur gallery first. HDMI won't work from the AOSP gallery.
REAL HDMI

I think in the android Market there is an apps call it "REAL HDMI" that allow all screen see it in the TV.
RealHDMI is great, but will not work unless the Rom explicityly has HDMi working already.
RealHDMI doesn't work on liberty, or fission.
Any idea if fission supports HDMI?

It does not... try apex. Its the bees knees!
Any rom with blur will support HDMI. Fission doesn't work but there is a very similar one called fusion that should. Other than that there's apex, rubix blurry and many others. Just look around for blur roms
I'm on CM7 Ba2tF.
AFAIK portrait mirroring should be enabled by default, but when I plug the cable in, nothing happens. My external display says "no video input" and Atrix says nothing.
Cable is tested and 100% OK.
Display also works with other devices.
HDMI on atrix worked fine with Aura ROM which I had previously.
Now what?
is it possible that the charging plug must also be in at the same time?
Nope. The last time I tried portrait mirroring, all I had in was the hdmi cable.

Interesting .. Try reflashing, fixing permissions and try again. It has always worked on mine.
CM7 ROMS do not support HDMI Mirroring yet, only blur based ROMS (aura, darkside, etc.) Are able to do HDMI. Please look here: http://code.google.com/p/atrix-dev-team/
Under the working/not working section to check

Cm7 has had working portrait mirroring since day one of beta, it's landscape that doesn't work.
You can try to reflash the ROM, it's always worked for me right off the bat.

** sorry** yes he ^^^ is right. Vertical mirroring should be functional but not horizontal yet
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
i hope in future builds will work
Why is it that horizontal mirroring doesn't work? I'm not trying to get some super technical explanation. I understand it works in blur based and since cm7 isnt blur based it isn't compatible. but I imagine its got to have many similarities? is it just an added string in a file that we aren't aware of or is there something missing? I'm just curious? It's intriguing that vertical mirroring is fine so I imagine that the setting or string we need to add is sitting right under our noses!
yes something is missing so only portrait works its tottaly a differnt beast than landscape

I'm running the neutrino rom and HDMI portrait works fine but I'd like more resolution and landscaping. This thread is months old so any updates? What about an HDMI media player? Or playing fullscreen tetra 2 games over HDMI?
Thanks
I was wondering if there are any good solutions out there to using the lapdock with CM7 or 9? I use it for note taking and have done full linux etc. but really all I need it for is note taking. CM7 just shows a portrait view of your phone when plugged in right? If it was landscape that would be great since then I could use Evernote's android app or something.
Anyone got any good solutions to using the lapdock with CM7?
P.S. I know just using a Blur ROM is a solution.

No, there isn't any solution at the moment. I doubt that we will even see webtop in cm7/9.
o I wish the would just upgrade to ics officially! I just got a atrix 4g and a lapdock

Ya I bought the phone specifically to use the lapdock so I stick to blur roms.

Well at least ics us coming but I'm worried by the time its out I will be switching carriers and they won't support the atrix because of different band they run on.

landscape HDMI mirror works now in the newest CM7 and CM9 ROMs, just FYI.
...I'm truly bummed out about the options.
My KF will arrive in 2 days and I'm formulating my gameplan... Initially I was certain that I'd be able to run ICS, but the progress seems to have slowed on the Hardware Acceleration front.
I've read through all of the "Which rom should I flash?" threads... and it looks like any ICS-based rom is out for me. That being said, I know I still have some options given these requirements :
1) Hardware Acceleration - No Netflix is a dealbreaker.
2) Attractive interface
3) Access to as many of the Amazon stock bits as possible.
4) If possible, I want a rom/launcher optimized for a tablet.
I know that I can flash MoDaCo and load the ICS launcher (or any other 3rd-party launcher) and achieve something suitable... but everything I've seen so far just looks like a blown-up smartphone interface.
What about CM7? Are there any launchers that looks like Honeycomb or tablet ICS? I'm an occasional MIUI user with my DX, but I'm only seeing 4.0 MIUI for the Kindle Fire... Are there any MIUI roms with hardware acceleration?
I'm still guessing that MoDaCo + Launcher is my safest bet until CM9 achieves hardware acceleration... but I'd love to hear some suggestions.
Thanks folks!
Cm7, run my kang, hw acceleration n everything works dandy and looks like ics when setup right.

What exactly does lack of hardware acceleration limit? Is it just streaming video, or is there more?
Also, how close is the community to developing a kernel that supports HW acceleration? I hope to have my Kindle rooted soon and I'm struggling with the same decision.

Hey, sorry to hit you up again... But I've got a question about the Amazon App Store on your rom. It is filtering apps that would normally be compatible on the stock rom. Any idea why this is? Does the app store not recognize a CM7 kindle?
Update: Tried side-loading the apk from another device... Installs, but it says Not compatible with this device. Request a refund... but the app is definitely compatible with the Kindle because I played it before I left stock. Any ideas?
I got a nook color when they came out and put cm7 on it, but last year I got a n7 and have been using that since. I was curious how roms have come along for the nook color. Well, really the kernel. Last year I remember there were issues with hardware accelerated ui, hardware video playback etc.
Has there been development on that since last year? It's hard to determine if these are still issues in current roms looking at their long threads.
Most OP's will explain any issues. We have official CM 10/.1. All versions of Paranoid Android. Some CM7 variants. We're just missing MIUI, and PAC. Also HWA works just fine now.

Don't forget that 720p video now works, it didn't before on the cm7 rom.
All that we need now is usb host mode working.

Is the 720p up and working for cm 7.2 by any chance? I just installed the Mirage version of cm 7.2 but I'm away from my tablet and haven't checked it yet. It's been collecting dust for a couple years now, but if the hardware acceleration is there that would really help it get more use in my house.
If you want something new, try Chameleon OS 4.2.2
