hi!
i´ve recently bought a qtek 9000, and noticed that when i was listening to music using the headphones and received a phone call. O could hear the ring tone thorough the headphones and through the speakers at he same time. I thought it a problem of the headphones but it´s not bc right now, when i listen to music i can listen it through the speakers and the headphones at the same time. before i just listened it through the headphone.
does anyone know how to fix it? is a software/hardware problem??
thanks in advance buddies

The headphone socket on your 900 is perhaps the culprit. When you connect the headphone the speakers should get disconnected. Try to connect some other headphone in the socket. Connecting and removing the jack a few times also helps in releasing the spring loaded contact in the socket.
I have this problem with my BA in that the speaker on the device still plays the audio when my head phones are plugged in.
Does anyone else have this problem.
I am using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter I bought off ebay that was for this device. The head phones work nicely and play in stereo.
The device is WM6.
Thanks
Same problem
I had the same problem but just once. I played mp3 with HTC audio manager and then I received a phone call. After I end my phone call, the song continued to play but then the sound also come out from the speaker not just from my earphone. I used a motorola 2,5mm stereo earphone
Thanks
Actually. you are right. That is exactly what happened to me. I tried my earphones again today, and it worked fine.
Hello, i'm new to having BT and i just got my tilt yesterday. One thing i need to do is get a BT headset, but i'm having trouble finding out if a BT headset will transfer any audio to the unit instead of phone only audio.
I want something that will let me listen to my music or video, and it will need to make some sort of indication that a call is coming in and let me take the call and then go back to the music when the call is done.
I don't want something that has some HUGE boom mike that resembles the head gear i have to wear for work.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Jawbone's noise canceling and sound quality, so i'm leaning towards that. I've looked in many places but haven't heard if the Jawbone does this.
I'm not concerned about stereo audio at all. As long as all the sound goes to the headset and plays in my ear i'm happy. Stereo is completely not necessary cause i'm deaf in my right ear and couldn't hear it even if i wanted to.
I think the Jabra BT8040 does this but is the noise canceling as good as the jawbone?
thanks in advance
Snow
edit: Maybe what i'm asking is, "Does the Jawbone play music and do calls?" I dunno, i'm confused lol
Any BT ear piece like Jawbone can have all sounds diverted to it by using a small free app called BTaudiotoggle. Do a search for BTaudio. It works great.
If you are deaf in one ear, the Jawbone is fine, the BlueAnt Z9 is smaller, cheaper, and Louder than the Jawbone. I have both and they are two of the best earpieces.
Thanks! That was just the information i was looking for.

the jabra bt 3030 is good as well, nice bright blue flashes when calls come in,and can take any ear gear with 3.5 mm plug, mono or stereo.
hello this is my 1st post my xperia x10 volume is really low . when im outside i cant hear anything at all . so i went to a electronic store i tried headset that have mic on it . i tried klipsch , shure like all top of the line ones none of them worked when i play song its all disorted . when i try regular headphones with no mic it works. is the problem with my phone or sony ericsson wants me to buy their headsets. any help would be great thanks
the same thing has always been happening with my Monster Dr.Dre Beats Solo
which also has a mic on the wire. the sound comes out all wierd and echoey. dont know if theres a fix for that yet but if there is that would be great.
the only wired headset that i know works with the x10 is the one that came in box with the x10, but that one sucks.
anyways, if u just want to listen to music with those nicer headphones (such as my dre's) then u can use a headphone jack splitter on the phone before actually plugging in ur headphones, then u can use the phone as an mp3 player.
so if i buy a headphone splitter would it solve the problem? cuz i just purchased the klipsch s4 earbuds which is 1 of the best 1 out there right now and plug it with sony ericsson stock mic and it worked . the mic works and music also . even if i plug the earbuds on jack of phone music will work but it has no mic. so i think sony wants customers to use thier headsets. and when i use x10 headset with my earbuds the wires are way too long and i dont like . i wonder if there is any mic headphones outhere that will work with x10
My iPhone headphones do not work in the play. When I use my Play headphones in my desktop radio it is very quiet and I have to put the volume way up.
I have an Ipad that I use every day and don't want to carry two sets of headphones.
that is abit strange mate,
would of thought they would work as there are the same audio jack socket
you could buy a bluetooth adaptor that way you can connect via bluetooth
to both devices without the need to carry two headphone around plus u dont get wires everywhere when u gotta plug them in
I was thinking about that.
I was also thinking about getting BT headphones from eBay.
It is strange.
all sony phones have had this setup, the wiring of the mini jack socket is swapped around in some way or another so only sony made headphones will function fully. sony are well known for this type of thing they love to make it so you have to use their products with their products. annoying but i dont think there is going to be an easy solution as no software can emulate the wiring in question to change it to work with normally wired headphones
hope this helps

I think it is probably more to do with the headphones, or the OP's handset, because my SkullCandy headphones work fine in the Play and anything else i plug them in to. Also, before i got them I used the SE headphones and they worked on the phone and my computer.

Handsfree headsets have a slightly different plug from normal headphones. When using your Play headset with your desktop radio, pull the plug out just a bit and you'll hear everything normally without resorting to cranking the volume way up. This also happened with my Nokia handsfree, so I assume it's related to the mic.
As for why your iPhone headphones don't work on your Play, that's strange since most headphones i've tried with my Play work Flawlessly, from cheap $2 Knockoffs to some more expensive gear, even the Nokia handsfree I mentioned before works great with the Play.
My play from verizon came with a little cable that converts their sony configuration to the standard jack. I don't need it as i use BT handsfree.
I just tried another generic set of headphones and put a video from youtube on. I open youtube the sound goes through the phone speakers and not the headphones. This doesn't change if I unplug and plug them back in with the video going either. My Sony headset only works with music. The youtube has no sound at all. I wonder what is going on. I'm going to have to call Sony.
Thanks for the half plugged in trick works great I don't have to carry two pairs of headphones now that my Sony ones work in my laptop!

I tried the Sony headphones in my Advent Vega and, indeed, if they're wholly plugged the sound is weird, metallic. Half-plugged, they worked fine.

That is what I was getting. Do regular headphones work on your play?
@duramajin you'll have to be careful in a quite place because turn of the head could pull them out and sound would be coming out of laptop speakers.... I've just resorted to BT headphones.... SE HBH-IS800 are quality and really small.

No issues here. My portable speakers, my headphones I use on my ipod, everything works in my play. It's just a standard jack.

yes a good idea,
if you get a BT adaptor you dont have to worry about what headphones u use
as they work with all normal audio jack earphones

Just tried two sets of headphones. No issues.
Must be something wrong with my phone then.

As he said, it must be something with the OP's headset.
My skullcandy's, samsung headset, and a pair of RCA's all work just fine on my play.
