Can i9000 with voodoo sound rape Sony arc - Galaxy S I9000 General

Voodoo is a wonderful thing to i9000 users. But I wonder if i9000 sound quality is better than sony arc. I and my friend had a talk about this and he thinks his arc is better.
Any idea?

Haha..just grab yourself a pair of nice earphones and plug em up with an i9000 +[Sempahore/Glitch/Midnight/Original Voodoo/Hardcore speedmod/Neo] any of these kernels , make him listen to a 720p[ Trifonic : parks on fire ] on SuperAMOLED.....and that would not be a rape it would be a PAWNAGE ..!
otherwise let me handle if you fail .

That's what I do but he doesn't beleive it. is there any comparisions or âny reviews about that?
How about the infomations about the sound chip of both phones?
Thanks alot

Upgrade from galaxy ace to x10?

Hello ,
I have a galaxy ace. Due to its low dev support i am considering of moving to x10. Would it be a good change? And can you let me know about the problems with x10 whici i should keep in mind when upgrading??
Sent from my Galaxy ace using Tapatalk
Dual-touch fails, but SE Brazil said we'll get 4 points multitouch with Gingerbread update just like on the Arc etc...
If you can find a cheap x10 say for about £100 or less then go for it. It will soon be upgraded to gingerbread and is a superior phone to the ace by far.
With respect to it's negative points, low in call volume, no true multi touch, 65k colors, very laggy at times, below average RAM when compared to other phones in it's class. With any luck some of these negatives will at least be improved if not fully addressed with the upcoming update.

Well mine is ****ing crap. I can barely hear anything when outside or in a crowded environment. It's a complaint many x10 users have expressed and by now it should be clear to all that it's a real problem even if you are one of the lucky ones who don't have this problem.
The buggy dual touch is my one real complaint since I like to play games.. New custom kernels have made the in call volume better.
Another thing is there isn't much of a dev community at all, so don't expect to do much modding compared to other android phones.
Only get it if it's really cheap imo... Though with the update coming, who knows it might go from an ok phone to a good one?
I never had low incall volume My carrier is rogers and this is my 3rd x10 i think it depends where you guys located at..

Uhm, x10 has much development compared to some other (similair/bootloader unlocked) devices
Is there working 2.3 rom for x10? What about custom roms??

not at all...
go look at other forums on here,
Even much older android phones.
The development here is nothing compared to almost all other android phones.
I'm not saying that is a huge issue, especially considering most end users don't care about this. It is definitely the truth though. Even ask devs on here their opinion on this. Our community is not nearly as active as most other androids
For how much are you guys waiting? So far multi touch not working at all?

It works great for pinch zooming, but will be better with GB update. But it isn't officially confirmed on their blog.
Don't know where, but SE said the X10 will just get 2.3.3 and not 16 million colors or 4 finger mt.

the battery life is decent, typical for a smartphone lasts about a day.
You can run hd games, but only on custom roms as far as i know.
With the dual touch bug, many of them are painful to try and play too.
I'm using wolfbreak's rom, and there have only been 1 or 2 gameloft games I couldn't find versions of to work

Haha not the worst mistake!
At least I got some good pictures from it and learned a lot about Android.
It was a good learning experience for sure.
I think they really crippled what could have been a great device and turned it into a mediocre device
actually i love my X10 more while it's on 1.6.. if timescape and mediascape from 1.6 can be ported to 2.3 with improved performance, then i will keep this phone forever..
2.3 on x10 is totally lame, everything is ugly or not unified only except for the home app and the widgets, and i like the light blue much more because it suits my white x10 look.. se is not the se it used to be. look at the new se phones now, they all the same except for the look.. don't ever tell me how much faster it is on 2.3 because i prefer better functionality rather than that speed..
now i just leave my x10 a 2.1 system with z's kernel and the 1.6 theme, while it is still a media and social phone with the pretty UI i like. i can never bear with 2.3's ugly timescape which actually becomes an laggy ugly version of the phonebook, every time you press that infinite button it links you to phonebook wtf.. but on 2.1 it also links you to email, mediascape's music/photo, and more..
again, i love my x10, but this will be my last SE phone, because SE is not doing the things i want. my next phone is probably N9 by Nokia =]
above is just my opinions
PS:
1. flashplayer is not so useful to me
2. i have tried all the WB 2.3 roms
3. i use facebook a lot and i also like FiX's idea, but a facebook app just does everything

Love my X10, which I bought 2nd-hand and in excellent condition. Would not consider buying a new set. Lots of better phones now in the same price range. Love its camera and design. For my purposes of GPS, ebooks, surf net, casual games, apps, etc, it performs adequately. Would not really change until it gets completely obsolete (by then I guess mainstream would be quad-core 5" displays?)
Also realized it plays 720p HD MP4 video downloaded from YouTube which Galaxy SL cannot play properly
my x10 just completed its 1st anniversary 2 days back, and now i am thinking of buying a new device soon!!
EDIT:
whatever happens I LOVE MY X10!..
I hate it so much when it lags, especially when I need it to work normally, then again im still on 2.1 stock... I'm going to upgrade these days.
Also he looks like he has taken quite a beating after all the falling also got screen scratched when I slided him against a metal pole accidentally while drunk... And that "XPERIA" sign on the back says only "PERIA" now hahahah,
Home button also scratched a little bit, you can see white color under it (hmm now I wonder why didn't they made them white anyway, at least on white models, it would be so cool, try getting the metal color paint off the buttons you will see pure white under it).
But all in all I'll always love it

Beats Audio!

Guys I just tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523760
From what my ears tells me, there seems to be remarkable difference in sound indeed!
Credits to fuss132!!!
Don't know if this belongs in Development Section or already posted... apologies in advance...
Oh yeah, just flash this via CWM then its set...
And guys I am using a Beats Solo as my daily distraction (actually I use it as my work headset as well... makes me look cool than I really am lol) and I DEFINITELY noticed a change (sorry Nobnut)...
It gave a better bass response... not that it made the bass sound heavier but actually more crisp as opposed to being muddy... Before I hate the Beats Solo sound in "normal" settings but now its much better... My music files are all FLACs ranging from Pearl Jam to Rage Against the Machine....
giving it a try thanks
How is this enabled? Or once installed its already activated?

Everybody who listened to Beats Audio will tell you - Its more than just placebo, it really sounds WAY better.
Of Course just if you dont have 9$ Headphones.
In Ear Headphones sound great with Beats Audio
Test it with the MIUI 4.0 build
It does sound better !
Will be implemented in [V4a] next release !
Thanks for sharing @spandsbab
how is it activated on GB after flashing
...by playing some music.
beside the default music player, anyone try other player?
wow! i will give a try!

I still have my original i9000 mostly because of the amazing sound quality I get with Voodoo sound and the Samsung earphones. The Siyah 1.2.1 mods on Omega 5.1 on my i9300 kernel runs it very close. Really eager to see what SuperC can do with the new device!

However Voodoo Sound is not just about boosting volume. I had it on my SGS1, and it greatly improved the overall sound quality as well. I cant really explain it as I am by no means an audiophile, however all I know is that Voodoo Sound left me with a smile on my face whilst listening to music.

I used voodo on SGSII and that just boosted volume, in saying that it actually boosted it with no sound quality loss.. Not like volume+.
That mod does exactly what vodoo did on the SGSII im very impressed by this mod, the fact that it boosts over all sound on the phone is great.

firstly what the heck is a wolfson DAC it is something u invented
secondly visit this link http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9505_galaxy_s4-5371.php
dnt say gsmarena isnt authentic and lastly
we have the same DAC manufacturer as htc one that is Yamaha and we all agree htc is best audio plus am saying stock vs stock but if u want mods the pure x mod makes the sound on i9505 rlly magnificent plz dont trash talk am not doing claims am having facts unlike u
u bought a cheaper phone just be satisfied by it dont claim it is better
Have you tried BMSound?
As for the I9505 sound quality, it's not really that bad. It's no Wolfson, granted, but it's also not crap (as the Yamaha DAC on the S2).
My biggest issue are the earphones, or the lack of proper ones, to be true.

I've tried a few as well and so far Viper4Android FX is the best so far, IMO. Nice amount of tweakable options, able to drive the phone hard and clean without distortion...better than MusicFX and much better than any beats audio/ BMAudio implementation ive seen on the i9505 so far. The author seems to have a lot of plans for it as well

The problem with gsmarena is they arent consistent with their testing and as such they aren't particularly trustworth when ti comes to RMAA testing.
-------
Wolfson are well respected, more so for their dacs used in av amps than phones but that's only because people take less notice of what DAC a phone has, generally. That sort of stuff is reserved for us geeks I've no doubt wolfson are top of the pile here. Whether that translates in to audiable differences is a different question altogether though; I think DACs play a far lesser role in overall picture for sound quality in phones than perhaps some people like to admit. Yes we can bench the hardware with RMAA and see the numbers are better, but that doesnt always translate in to better audio quality and i really do think people concentrate on the DACs too much. I believe the rest of the hardware is far more important - the amp, for one thing. That's a different discussion however.
Wolfson best but the i9505 chip set ain't that far behind. Let stick to topic eh? In reality you would have to be running some sweet cans and have damn good ears to tell the difference between both versions of the s4 chip sets. Disagree? Blind test i9500 and 9505 yourself and see if you can tell the difference.... I have and my ears ain't good enough to differentiate between the two.

Pretty sure that the I9505 with some future decent mods it could maybe even get better sound than with siyah (scoobydoo) sound on the sIII. This chip imo has much potential. I did a tryout with poweramp yesterday I was amazed and blown away to be honest

I'm using viper mod and bmsound atm. There is a post in the at&t themes and app forum for where someone detailed what they did. It sounds pretty good surprisingly. The OP claims that those two work well with bmsound amplifying lows and viper doing a very good job at mids and highs. I'd post the link but at work right now.
This thread has obviously run its course...
