[Q] Bluetooth unlocks phone, any help? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello,
my problem is that my HD2 (Hyperdroid CM7 latest) when in my pocket locked and protected with a pattern, gets unlocked when the dial button on the bluetooth (samsung HM1500) gets pressed accidentally. The BT dial button bypasses everything. Is there a way to stop this? Anyone else has the same problem?

Try downloading "proximity sensor off" app.
It will lock your phone, if in pocket, very quickly, so that should solve your problem.

Thank you for the reply but it doesn't seem to work. Pressing Bluetooth's dial button bypasses everything, even widget locker and unlocks the phone and dials the last called number. It doesn't matter if the phone is in a pocket or not. Any other ideas?
Sent from outer space using "the force"

Sorry then, I don't have other ideas... maybe playing with the settings or downloading some other alternative bluetooth hardware controller?
Just ideas...

*bump* One solution found. I installed an app called "Call Confirm". You have to press ok or cancel in order to make a call or not.

Voice Dial button while devices is closed

Somehow I managed to install MS Voice Command and is working OK.
But, one thing I cannot manage to solve, is using the voice dial button while the cover is closed. It doesn't do anything. It has to be open or the screen facing upwards.
Is there a solution or perhaps not?
Let's say you dialed. How would you talk to the person?
I am having the same problem.. it locks the buttons when lid is closed and there seems to be no way to unlock them... and, you can talk with the lid closed, for the guy who asked.
settings, buttons, lock. you can choose not lock the buttons when the device is closed
I am also suffering te same problem with voice command.
richard
they are all unlock, but still, voice command doesn't activate-
There has to be a way to trick the registry... but I'm no expert at all.
It's on my list of things to look at tonight.
I'll get to it when I've finished my real VGA hack.
Great! We'll be all awaiting your news.
as far as i know then the cpu is not active and normal programs are not running when ones device is turned off
so even if you unlock the buttons voice commander would not respond unless pressing the button wakes up the pda
Pressing the button does wake the device though. This is the bizarre thing.
If the device is off in tablet mode, it works fine.
If the device is off in closed mode, it doesn't work.
Pressing the button in closed mode produced the bing-bong sound indicating the VC is ready to accept commands but nothing happens therafter.
Was there ever a solutio found to this problem???
Afraid not.
I'd love to find a solution to this too. I am convinced it is possible, because incoming calls do activate Voice Command with the XDA closed (it tells me who is calling), and the external buttons do wake the XDA when it is open.
But even though I have "do not lock buttons" selected, none of the external buttons do anything when the unit is closed.
I'd be very, very grateful if anyone could come up with a solution to this.
If you switch off in toggle mode then the device will respond after pressing the VC button. But if you have set pda up to close after a certain amount of inactivity, it will stop responding after that period of time expires.
So the solution is concealed under the way you switch off the device. I think if we found a way to switch off in toggle mode instead of suspending when pressing the on/off button, the we would found the solution. However, battery issues may come up...

Screen lock program

Does anyone know of a screen locking program?
I have posted before looking for a solution to the problem of button and screen lock being disabled when I receive a call/message and the phone doing all manner of things in my pocket like connecting to GPRS when the lock is off.
What I am after now is just a program that will lock the screen until I tell it not to, in an attempt to stop this happening. Something that will not be overridden by receiving a message or call, because this is totally doing my head in now.
Does anyone know of one?
Thanks
Honestly, does this issue not affect anyone else?
use MortSaver, free download in www.sto-helit.de. You can chose to use its phone function (unlcok call and screen with incoming call), or disable the function, so screen+buttons keep being locked.

Key press (by mistake) on the case

When my device P3600 received call or sms, the device is powered up, and then all the keys are active. If the device in case some key can be press (by mistake) and activate a program on this situation.
Does any one have a solution for that?
Use the Device Lock Feature in your Today Screen.
I do not like to add one more line to the dotay screen
can I use it without add it to the dotay screen?
If you don't want an additional line on the today screen then the other option is to set the device to request a password after only one minute of inactivity (under "Settings", "Personal", "Lock").

10x, but this is not help, the lock is form power up the the device, and the device is automitly powered up when received call or sms
I use a program called "device lock" that can be mapped to one of the buttons, I use button one when you hold for a few seconds. The app locks the phone and turns off the screen, so when you recieve a call or sms the screen will turn back on but the phone will still be locked.
Have a search on the forums here for it, that where i got it from.
Cheers

in this case you can not aswers a call, when received one - because when the device is lock there is no quick way to answer that call.
or I miss someting here.

Yes you can answer a call, the device lock only lets you use the power, answer, and hangup buttons. When the call is finished it is still locked, unless you unlock it.
I use this one. http://www.mr2-power.com/downloads/DeviceLock.CAB
10x, GREAT, this will do the job
it is work fine - 10x

I am glad you found a way to solve your problem but I don't understand why my suggestion should not work. If you set your device to request a pin after one minute of inactivity if you receive a message the keys will still be blocked until you enter your pin. (I am talking about device PIN not SIM PIN).
And if you receive a call the answer button works even without entering a PIN.

Your solution works too, the only thing is sometimes (for example) I'm sitting on the couch using my phone for email or surfing and watching a TV program. I stop to watch something interesting for 3 minutes and my phone has locked itself with the pin lock. I have to enter the code each time this happens. It can get annoying. If I use devicelock, I lock the keys when I need to, obviously when I'm at home and my phone is on the coffee table, it doesn't need to be locked. I set my device pin lock at 2 hours, that should give the phone enough time to lock itself if I loose it...hopefully.
yeah... but when you loose your phone the device lock doesn´t matter. only reinstall a Rom and your phone can be used.

Yes, very true, but at least they won't be able to see all my contacts, appointments, notes etc. That being said, I always use FlexWallet to encrypt all sensitive information which is synchronized to my laptop.
touch screen and buttons can be locked during a call?
I followed up this thread and found it very interesting. But it does't focus all the problem:
when call's come in, your solutions are ok.
But when I want to make a call, I found there is a nasty *****, clicking to call waiting or to head speaker on, opening a note or calling my voice box etc. etc.
Then I found that it was my ear or my fingers, clicking on the touch screen or my fingers clicking hardbuttons.
I think tat during a call on the normal speaker the only buttons to be active should be "hang on" and "loud speaker on". With loudspeaker or BT on, or call terminated,s screen and buttons should come back to full function.
Anybody knows a solution to this?
Regards, and keep on, its a great forum. i love it.

Hmm this is just "device lock" that we can see in HTCplugin. In my case it does not turn off the screen. It just locks my device. Is everyone has "turn off the sreen" functionality?

I lastly tried the on-off button to block screen during outgoing calls.
I never did this before because I thought it would cancel the active call, but it doesn't.
Ok, I see it's more or less doing what I want. But it's very unconfortable. When I hit it bad, or don't hit it at all, or forget to press it?
Isn't there a posibility to have the screnn sensibility off, only sensibility, until the call is either ended, passed to outer speaker, headset or BT? or perhaps simply until I give it free manually?
It would improve safe usage of that phone remarkably, I think.
If not :-( , well, I allways can press the button ;-)
curious for what solutions you'll find on your problems with incoming calls. Perhaps that will give me an Idea.
Chears
I've complained about this on just about every major forum I have found. Hopefully, someone will eventually write an app to allow personalized device locking. I would set my trinity to not wake for ANYTHING and have ONLY the power button active. I would prefer to get audible alerts (or vibrate) to incoming calls, alarms and messages. Pressing power would be the only way to turn the device on. PIN features only annoy me. This would be very useful anytime I am not willing to immediately respond to a notification - driving, having dinner, in a meeting, etc. It could significantly improve battery life. I store mine in my pocket and accidental button press is a problem as well.

Phone Lock + Bluetooth Problem.

I use a bluetooth headset. Every time i lock the phone i put it in the clip and it ends the call. When my phone locks i would like the end call button to lock to. Is there any way to lock the "end call" button? Is there a program out there i can use? Your help is appreciated.
Solved it myself. I Used S2U2

locking on vanilla android 2.1

hi,
i have the following problem.
If you lock your phone via hang up key you can simply activate it via home button (press twice).
I desperatly look for a possibility to deactivate this behavior, cause i already phoned like 1 hour accidentially with this "bug".
Any help appreciated!
I think setting up lock pattern will help. Even if the phone wakes up it won't be able to make calls or other unwanted stuff.
i have the standard unlocking slider, which is really fine.
the problem is that you can go around it with the home button.
so i think using a patting will not help
i have to disable the home button while the screen is off or something.

You can't "go around" the lock pattern with home button. So the device still can wake up in your pocket but can't make a phone call
I think this is the only real workaround for this problem (apart from building your own kernel with altered button mapping)
