I have WM 6.1 and have recently changed my background to something that has some white in it. Now because of this and the fact that the start menu is transparent I can't read some of the text in the menu.
Before anyone suggests it, yes I'm aware of how to change the text color using the registry. I am not interested in doing this, I tried it and didn't really like it.
I am looking to do one of two things:
1. Remove the transparency.
2. Add a thin black stroke to make it readable.
Any suggestion that works is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Does anyone have any knowledge of what I can do here? This is really pretty obnoxious and I don't know how to fix it.

Actually, the start menu is not transparent, but rather it uses a piece of the picture in your background to make it look as if it was transparent. Changing system fonts might solve your issue. There are a few programs that will allow you to do that in Dev&Hacking. Also, I believe that mrMakk has a tutorial on how to do this.
Alternatively, you can try to change the menu picture by using something like Theme Creator v2 or Theme Generator v2 (I can't remember the correct name for the program).
Thanks man, I'll give the theme generator a try when I get home.
Theme generator only works on 2002. The themes it generates could not be applied to WinMo 6.1...
Anyone got another suggestion? Surely there is a way to change the start menu picture in WinMo 6.1...
When I select a picture and set it as a Today Background, it brings up a screen so that I could select a Transparency Level.

I don't believe that this is what the user is asking for.

He is asking about the transparency of the Start Menu isn't he? When you click on Start it drops down a menu correct?
On my phone, when I go to save a picture as my wallpaper, I am able to change the transparency of the Start menu. I'm not saying that's the only way, that's the only way I know and it worked for me.
If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Is there a way to change the color of the clock on a froyo without the use of cyanogenmod parts?
I installed the TMUS-32B-Froyo-CM6Remix and themed it with theme-porter but the clock still comes out black, since in cyanogen themes it is changed through cyanogenparts.
is there a way around this? like an update.zip or something? thanks in advance
I think this guide should do it, although I'm pretty sure it's not for Froyo, so some elements might be different, but will give you a good place to start:

when you list of programs/apps comes up, anyway to change the Icon & or/ name?
Im not sure about changing the name for the apps, but I think Desktop Visualizer lets you change the icons. maybe different launchers might allow you to change the names
Hmm well I can change my desktop Icons but im trying to change the icons and or name of the app in the menu itself
I've been developing and customizing custom ROMs for a few months now, using mainly AOSP, Lineage and now I'm working on my own version of HalogenOS. But one thing has alluded me, I can't find the location of the layout of the lockscreen and how to edit it! I just want to change the font, color, size, layout etc. But I can't find it anywhere!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading through my problems!
Edit: I know Keyguard is associated with the lockscreen but I'm still having troubles finding the layout of the clock.
Hi guys,
I really don't like the ugly Samsung font on the lockscreen, so I want to change it. I know it's stored as the font Clock2017(L/R).ttf, so I just replaced this font by one I want (any Roboto type will do).
After a reboot this seems to work ok, except for one thing. It doesn't show a 1 behind the colon properly. Instead it's a `. So 13:13 looks like 13:`3 I didn't check all possible combo's yet, but I think it's only happening to a 1 right behind the colon.
I tried to replace the clock font with different fonts (Roboto regular, Roboto numbers, AndroidClock), but everytime the same bug appears.
Does anyone know how to solve this annoying problem?
Thanks!
I can confirm it's only the 1 after the colon. If I select the clock type were minutes are shown below hours (so no colon), there is no problem...
Anyone?
