Hi all my U8800 with Miui 1.11.25 reboots with receiving a text message (so i can't read it).
spirosbond posted in the developers section:
go to /system and edit the file build.prop with root explorer (or any other apk with root permissions). Delete the last line. Save, exit, reboot and it should be fixed.
I did that but it didn't fix the problem
any help?
(Sorry I can't post in the developers section yet)
do you have HiSuite installed or other aplication with sms permissions?
BTW that post you read is for fix another problem, not the sms problem, so be carefull with what you delete...
Open the superuser app and see if any sms apps (chompsms/gosms or whatever third party sms app you're using) are being blocked and allow it
Used to get the same issue on the Galaxy S, hope it helps

Hi everybody,
I use the BCM CM9 2.2U2, and I want to mod the Mms.apk to override the SMS to MMS conversion after 4 texts.
Here is what I did:
- I used Apk-Multi Tool to decompile the Mms.apk.
- I modify /res/xml/mms_config.xml (to be precise, I replace the line "<int name="smsToMmsTextThreshold">4</int>" by "<int name="smsToMmsTextThreshold">100</int>")
- I recompile the apk, answering "y" to both questions and being careful with what Apk Multi Tool told me (basically, I deleted the files I needed to delete in the "keep" folder, ie. mms_config.xml and something.armsc-or-something-like that)
- I push the modded apk to my phone
But unfortunately, after I did that, I could not see the Mms.apk in the app drawer. I checked the permissions and the owner and they were correct (or at least, the same as the working Mms.apk).
I attached the original Mms.apk I'm trying to mod, and the actual modded Mms.apk (which does not work).?
Does somebody have an idea of what's gone wrong?
Thank you in advance!

I have the exact same problem! Did you find any solution?
I gave up but I've found a Mms.apk (from the latest CM9 source) which does include a option to not convert SMS into MMS (you have to change it in the settings of the app). But it is for the HTC One X, so I do not know if it works for other devices. I attach it so you can try.
Thank you

The problem is that all apps must be signed to run on Android. Once you recompile your apk with apktool, you have to sign it with a release key (and optionally but recommended - run zipalign), before pushing it back to your phone.
The android developers guide has an excellent article on creating a set of release keys and using them to sign your apk (the apk just has to be signed with any key, it doesn't have to match the same key the original ROM authors used).
Hi everyone, i've flashed wiui12.21 and without reboot,i've flashed the control panel addon and phonefix_4 chinese user.zip at the same time. when i booted into the system, the message app was gone! i've checked in root explorer and the app was exactly in the system/app file and all the permissions were right. i just can't find it on desktop

Hello guys,
I recently found out that the "Kies via Wi-Fi" entry under "Settings>Connections Tab" is causing a FC to "Settings". I guess at a given time I've done something and removed/uninstalled the Kies Bloatware either by using Root Explorer or Titanium Backup, I'm not sure and I can't remember. I've tried to reinstall the "Kies Wi-Fi" app from the Google PlayStore and it did actually installed and found it working, however the nasty shortcut in Settings still causes FC-es. Is there any way to get rid of this entry at all? I don't intend using Kies at all and I'd really like to see that option gone.
I saw a thread in the Dev and Hacking section, however I'm not experienced enough to do it myself, so I ask here for help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184207
And these are the files I extracted from my device.. apparently there's no "Settings.apk" in my "/system/app" folder. But there is SecSettings.apk.....
SecSettings.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/pbeua595rsym22p/SecSettings.apk
framework-res.apk - https://www.dropbox.com/s/xzog2xfxnc4gsso/framework-res.apk
framework.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/t0xawazgheiemxg/framework.jar
framework2.jar - https://www.dropbox.com/s/mb470l2z2epu9vu/framework2.jar
I noticed that in SecSettings.pak > res > xml there is a file called connection_headers.xml which might be the key, but trying to open it with Notepad++ everything was full with meaningless weird symbols, except the 4th row which actually mention "kies via wi-fi".
I'll be very thankful if there's any way to remove this.. "thing" from my phone. I'm not familiar with ADB, but I surely can flash a .zip with CWM. :cyclops:
faily.. wrong thread.. sorry
Hey, today I decided to root my phone , everything went well, but it has begun to turn itself on and off automatically.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2799563
could someone help me please?
model: i9505
android: 4.4.2
kernel:3,40-3162654
You need to delete knox related files.
i m trying to do that
yeah, as i said, i cant delete them. when i delete them, they pop up again, and i use root explorer as recommended in the thread i have linked in my post
There is no thread found at that link. 404 Page Not Found.
Also, the stock rom has an apk that installs deleted system apps at every boot. So that's why they might popup again.
Delete that apk and it won't install deleted apps at every boot.

Hi to everyone!
I have many friends that have Huawei P8 Lite and all them find out
the same problem with the notifications of some apks (Whatsapp and Telegram).
I have tried to set them like protected apk and look if others options
can block their notifications.
I have tried to install 3rd party apk to force notifications but it works
sometimes.
This problem came out when the smartphones have been upgraded
from Android 5.x to 6.0...from EMUI 3.x to EMUI 4.x
The problem appears when the phone remains idle for a long time
(1 or 2 hours or more) that notifications do not arrive or end up getting
only if I open the application or if I get a message from a person rather than as a group.
Someone said that the problem is the EMUI interface....with EMUI 5.x and Android 7
there is the same problem?
Have someone find out a definitive solution?
The Huawei have said something?
Have a nice day!
P.S. I have tried all this solutions but not work
- http://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin/2.../#7c4eb3c78aa7
- Phone battery manager. Put social chat apps that need to have real-time notifications as protected. In settings, apps, advanced, ignore optimizations. Whitelist the same apps.
- Also in the battery manafer, set the alim mode to "performance".
- If you can tweak that applications to be "immune" at "close all" command of task manager that remain active when screen is off, even after restart the device.
- If its only group message, it may habe somethinf to do with the group being "Silent", check the group settings!

Try Moving them to /system/app
System apps are protected by default and never stop working in background

Use any root file manager "ES for example" and put the apk file into a folder with the same name (not sure is it necessary or not) and copy it to /system/app
Don't forget to set proper permissions "rwx r-x r-x for folder and rw- r-- r-- for the apk file" and reboot

Hi! Thank you very much!
So the smartphone must have the root...
That being the case, the only solution at the moment is this...but I would not make the root. :crying:
I hope for a new and final update to overcome that.
Thanks for everything.

Hello.
I had the same problem with whatsapp. After many research, i think i have found the solution:
Enable background data for Google Play Services app and allow notifications as well for this app.
(PS This solutions is mentioned also in the FAQ from whatsapp )))))) .. that simple
It worked for me.. try
