That can't be new. It's only from May and June. JPU is from September or October.

Yes. I mean the latest..
Thank you @rjpalmeida8 for the links.
As far as the release is concerned please note the region specific release - it is XW instead of XX. One is Eastern Europe while the other is Western Europe
But considering the release date its odd why Samfirmware would tweet about it this late..
yup thats right.. though xxjpk and jpi r already thr for worldwide edition.. maybe dis is just country /region specific...
Galaxy Note to get ICS in March
The development of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note is obviously progressing according to schedule. The Norwegian branch of the South Korean company just confirmed that the update is due to arrive at the end of this quarter, which means that there are just a couple of months left before the wait is finally over.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of new features to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, including a new task manager, better notification manager and vastly improved browser in terms of both functionality and performance.
You may remember that we got to play with one of the leaked ICS ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy S II a while ago and we were quite happy with its functionality. Unfortunately it was still quite buggy and not really suitable for everyday use.
Since that moment several new Samsung-made (but not meant for public release) ROMs popped up for the Galaxy S II and they show that the Samsung R&D engineers are actually advancing quite rapidly.
The latest version available is I9100XXLP6 and it's arguably the first one ready to fill in as your main ROM. It does lots of bug fixing and performance tuning and while it's some way off perfection, it's good enough for most geeks. Plus, it enables the Face unlock feature, which is one of the coolest (if not particularly functional) parts of ICS.
If you feel like taking the ROM for a spin and you know what you are doing you may download the necessary files by following this link. The rest of you should at least sleep better knowing that there are just a couple of months remaining now until the official update hits.

eh.. that's at least a month away from now.. I really hope we get an ICS leak soon..
i'll believe it when i see it. . my phone still wont even update to the latest release. .

What release are you on and which country are you in?
I know that a lot of Notes that were imported from Poland (and those sold by HandTec) are a problem.
According to some sources they will never OTA update because they have a KOR country code embedded. It can be changed but it's a bit of a hassle. In the end I went for a custom ROM based on latest stock and more than happy with it!

I had the same issue with a XEN (Netherlands) Note - the same KK5 ROM and no updates since November. You can update to the stock German LA4 ROM using ODIN - it's a non-wipe ROM so you will not lose data or settings.
If you don't mind a factory reset you can then update the CSC code so KIES and OTA updates will still work. See this thread for all the steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
the KK5/KKA is norwegiann. i have the same one

where did you get that information from? iPhone, in my opinion, is way more easier to deal with because you don't have any advanced configuration possibilities.

dont want to turn this into an iphone vs android thread. .
Im just saying that this phone has not been the easiest to use compared to an iphone and i was able to do a great deal with my iphone and jailbreaking is really simple. . it could just be i was used to an iphone .
its just frustrating that i dropped alot of money on this phone...I kept it legit and stock and now my phone is laggy, buggy, and wont update.. . I try to contact samsung and they keep telling me i have to call this country's samsung, then the next country says the same thing etc.. just getting a run around. .

i can definately understand your concerns. but in the end, why did you switch over to android?
what do your problems actually look like? e.g not able to update?

Use this thread. You only need PC version of ODIN. It is an exe. Then install your new ROM:

i like the iphone OS. .only reason i changed was for a larger screen. .
im relatively happy with the note . .although i do feel liek the iphone ios was smoother. . but i also used an iphone since day one so its what i was used to. .
this phone just seems a bit laggy when unlocking or opening the app drawer, apps, camera etc. .
the wifi is pretty weak and goes in and out, and the phone eats up 3g usage like crazy. .i currently live in vietnam and cant get unlimited plans so i have to constantly turn on and off the 3g. .

Couple minutes of reading and your set. Just like jailbreaking . Download a program, firmware, press start. That seems simple to me. Check out android development.
You have a unlocked galaxy note, screw Samsung and update yourself. As a new android user you have to do a little manual labor.
And to op, as long as nova launcher can run I'll be happy

I have an unlocked international note and I wont bother with updates until a stable ICS is released. No sense in wiping everything on my phone just for some incremental update. I'd rather wait for ICS and then do a full wipe and install.

There's no need to wipe if you install a non-wipe ROM.

In my opinion this is the wisest thing to do, I will actually do the same and wait for the ICS , I can manage living with some lag for a couple of months more, if in case I'm disappointed with the ICS update then this will be my first and also the last Android device.

You are confused with needed PDA and Final PDA!
The final PDA is the latest leak! for the Latest PDA to have install you need the " Needed " PDA
so in our case in order to install the latest leak you must have LG8!
