Update 2.1 by country

DON'T POST IF YOU HAVE UPDATED BY CHANGING TO NORDIC!
POST ONLY 2.1 UPDATE NOTIFICATION, BUT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
It does't matter the country you live and your operator, it does matter the Country+Brand of tour firmware
This thread will be our collective effort to track the 2.1 update, expected in the next weeks, for all the countries/brand, and the date the update has been available. Too bad there isn't a community wiki feature!
Please post your country, brand (as found under Model info in the Service info panel), firmware version, and the date the last update has been released! I will update this post with your feedback. Please don't post again for your country+brand unless the existing data is wrong or outdated.
Please specify carrier information ONLY if your X10 has carrier-specific firmware! Check Brand under Model info in the Service info panel!
Country is NOT the country where the phone is used or where has been sold, but the value specified under Model info in the Service info panel!
Please don't use this thread to discuss the update, but only to track its worldwide release
Before the upgrade, you can download the updated Sony Ericsson backup tool, browsing on phone to m.sonyericsson.com/backup

Your phone is branded Netcom or is just a generic on Netcom network?
update have been available since around 20:30 in denmark.
none of the x10 i've seen in denmark has been branded, so unless i'm mistaking, everyone i denmark should be able to update, I did it via update service.
i've only been able to download google maps from market, everything else just stalls, both free and paid apps.
anyways Firmware says 2.1-update1, and as mention earlyer i'm from denmark, the phone has been bought at Telenor DK, and today is 31/10-10

Galaxy Note will eat ICS in March!!!

Galaxy Note to get ICS in March
The development of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note is obviously progressing according to schedule. The Norwegian branch of the South Korean company just confirmed that the update is due to arrive at the end of this quarter, which means that there are just a couple of months left before the wait is finally over.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of new features to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, including a new task manager, better notification manager and vastly improved browser in terms of both functionality and performance.
You may remember that we got to play with one of the leaked ICS ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy S II a while ago and we were quite happy with its functionality. Unfortunately it was still quite buggy and not really suitable for everyday use.
Since that moment several new Samsung-made (but not meant for public release) ROMs popped up for the Galaxy S II and they show that the Samsung R&D engineers are actually advancing quite rapidly.
The latest version available is I9100XXLP6 and it's arguably the first one ready to fill in as your main ROM. It does lots of bug fixing and performance tuning and while it's some way off perfection, it's good enough for most geeks. Plus, it enables the Face unlock feature, which is one of the coolest (if not particularly functional) parts of ICS.
If you feel like taking the ROM for a spin and you know what you are doing you may download the necessary files by following this link. The rest of you should at least sleep better knowing that there are just a couple of months remaining now until the official update hits.

eh.. that's at least a month away from now.. I really hope we get an ICS leak soon..
i'll believe it when i see it. . my phone still wont even update to the latest release. .

What release are you on and which country are you in?
I know that a lot of Notes that were imported from Poland (and those sold by HandTec) are a problem.
According to some sources they will never OTA update because they have a KOR country code embedded. It can be changed but it's a bit of a hassle. In the end I went for a custom ROM based on latest stock and more than happy with it!

I had the same issue with a XEN (Netherlands) Note - the same KK5 ROM and no updates since November. You can update to the stock German LA4 ROM using ODIN - it's a non-wipe ROM so you will not lose data or settings.
If you don't mind a factory reset you can then update the CSC code so KIES and OTA updates will still work. See this thread for all the steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
the KK5/KKA is norwegiann. i have the same one

where did you get that information from? iPhone, in my opinion, is way more easier to deal with because you don't have any advanced configuration possibilities.

dont want to turn this into an iphone vs android thread. .
Im just saying that this phone has not been the easiest to use compared to an iphone and i was able to do a great deal with my iphone and jailbreaking is really simple. . it could just be i was used to an iphone .
its just frustrating that i dropped alot of money on this phone...I kept it legit and stock and now my phone is laggy, buggy, and wont update.. . I try to contact samsung and they keep telling me i have to call this country's samsung, then the next country says the same thing etc.. just getting a run around. .

i can definately understand your concerns. but in the end, why did you switch over to android?
what do your problems actually look like? e.g not able to update?

Use this thread. You only need PC version of ODIN. It is an exe. Then install your new ROM:

i like the iphone OS. .only reason i changed was for a larger screen. .
im relatively happy with the note . .although i do feel liek the iphone ios was smoother. . but i also used an iphone since day one so its what i was used to. .
this phone just seems a bit laggy when unlocking or opening the app drawer, apps, camera etc. .
the wifi is pretty weak and goes in and out, and the phone eats up 3g usage like crazy. .i currently live in vietnam and cant get unlimited plans so i have to constantly turn on and off the 3g. .

Couple minutes of reading and your set. Just like jailbreaking . Download a program, firmware, press start. That seems simple to me. Check out android development.
You have a unlocked galaxy note, screw Samsung and update yourself. As a new android user you have to do a little manual labor.
And to op, as long as nova launcher can run I'll be happy

I have an unlocked international note and I wont bother with updates until a stable ICS is released. No sense in wiping everything on my phone just for some incremental update. I'd rather wait for ICS and then do a full wipe and install.

There's no need to wipe if you install a non-wipe ROM.

In my opinion this is the wisest thing to do, I will actually do the same and wait for the ICS , I can manage living with some lag for a couple of months more, if in case I'm disappointed with the ICS update then this will be my first and also the last Android device.

outdated thread. Latest firmwares not listed.
Anyone have the VNZ(Vodafone New Zealand) stock rom.
This thread is outdated and OP never update, probably can closed already since no update.
That anyone know how can i go back to stock rom? I don't know anymore what was the stock rom but i know that after first update i had i9300XXALF5 (My phone is made in Korea) and after last update i have XXBLFB but in Kies told me that my phone DO NOT supported update via Kies. I'm from Romania and i've tried to flash my phone with the XXALE8 original from samMobile but i get error when Odin goes to MODEM. Finally I flashed with a XXALE8 stock but when I turn on the phone, errors like: (Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped, TouchWiz has stopped worked and the same with Contacts). Now i have XXBLFB but i'm not happy with him because the battery it goes to fast. Sorry my bad English. So how can I go back to stock rom???

From the stock rom thread flash via Odin .
You decide what stock rom you require if you don't know your original just guess .

I hate to be a pest and rekindle an old outdated thread, but should this thread maybe closed? I mean, i haven't tested all the files, but most of them are corrupt files...as in, you spend all this time downloading the files, and then push to the sd card, only to find that the file is corrupt and not complete.
Then when you finally find the proper thread for up to date firmwares, you have to wait an hour to download anything again because everyone seems to be using hotfile.com for some strange reason...which has a download per hour limit..........beyond frustrating!!!
cheers
Where is the roms for Denmark ?

Help upgrading from JellyBean

Hi,
I'm currently on 4.3 and some apps are now no longer supported and I'd like to get to the latest version.
Can anyone help me with the process? I'm not sure whether I need to go to KitKat, Lollipop and then Marshmallow, or if I can do a direct copy.
I'm slightly wary of doing this because I tried it a couple of years ago to go to KitKat and ... it didn't end well but I managed to get back to my 4.3 version.
Full Details:
Baseband Version - N9005XXUDMJ7
Kernel Verson - 3.4.2-2019540
Build Number - EchoeRom_v6_JSS15J.N9005XXUDMK2
SELinux Status - Enforcing SEPF_SM_N9005_4.3_0012
Hardware Version - MP0.602
Thank you in advance
Are you asking about Samsung stock rom.
Or Custom rom ??

It's a custom Rom - EchoeRom v6
I don't mind changing to whatever makes it easier if that helps
Update stock firmware via Odin from updato, com,#
Then choose your rom .
That will update bootloader and baseband for later custom roms.
Thanks.
I've gone to the site, filtered by United Kingdom (Vodafone) and it's come up with 2 options:
GALAXY Note 3 SM-N9005 5.0 April 23, 17 United Kingdom (Vodafone) (VOD) N9005XXSGBQA1
GALAXY Note 3 SM-N9005 5.0 January 28, 16 United Kingdom (Vodafone) (VOD) N9005XXUGBOL3
I'm guessing I want the bottom one?

The QA1 would be newer.
Once that's been downloaded/installed, should my phone still work on 4.3 but also have the capacity to take the newer Roms?
It will be whatever you download 4.4 .2 or 5.0
Then add custom recovery as required by choosen rom.
