[Q] New rooted NC user - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I will be getting a NC for xmas and i plan on rooting it with CM7. My question is how do app markets determine what apps will or will not work on a device? Is it by hardware or OS version? Just need to know what the best way to get apps that will actually work on my NC with CM7. Any help would be appreciated.

Just use either the recent stable 7.1 ROM or a nightly 200 or higher and your market will be just fine.

[Q] best way to prepare rooted 2.2 for custom roms

I have a droid 2 and i'm using it as a wifi-only phone because I don't wanna pay 85 a month to never talk on it or use mobile data.
I've already rooted it and installed ClockworkModRecovery, what would be the best upgrade path to a custom rom? I see something about sbf's and gingerbread and the information seems rather scattered. I cant even figure out which roms are still actively used...Last time I rooted a phone it was an Optimus V.
I appreciate any help I can get.
it says android version 2.2
system version is 2.3.20.a955
(oh and if there is a better guide out there for this that i missed lemme know, im only posting this after spending 2 days trying to figure this out with little luck)
Here's a list of active ROMs. If you need more help let us know.

[Q] Market issue

when using 1.6 ROM rooted some apps are not shown in the market like Whats app or Twitter... i'v tried a lot of patched markets and a lot of 1.6 ROMs in this forum .. can anybody tell me whats the problem ?
A lot of apps do not support android 1.6 anymore, most of them require 2.x and higher android versions, i would suggest you to flash 2.x ROM to get those apps..
I just want to recommend you Cyanogen Mod CM7 7.2.0 RC1 ROM. It's fast and smooth, good thing for your phone. I'd say that it's faster than stock 1.6 ROM.

How to update newly rooted phone

I have just rooted my phone and to do so I had to downgrade to its original stock firmware instead of what it had automatically upgraded to.
I needed root access primarily so I could run tethering apps.
Is there a way to get the phone to take an update from T-Mobile to get back up to Gingerbread?

Secondarily, the only other Android device I have is an HP Touchpan which is running CM9-ICS. I quite like ICS, but am concerned the current ROMs listed here seem less than stable. Are any of them rock solid while still giving full access to the hardware (GPS, camera, camcorder, audio, etc.)
Without starting a flame war, which ICS ROM would you suggest or shoudl I stck with Gingerbread?
Thanks

Well I believe that the most stable ICS rom is the CM9 port by 0.0. If you want a different flavor I have a GB rom tweaked to look just like iPhone that has everything working just fine. You can check that out see if you like it. And if you want just a regular GB rom would check out the CM7 nightlies section. Hope this helped
EDIT: I didn't mention this, but Synthetic Nightmare's aospX ICS is also very clean, simple, stable. Its not much tweaked, but very snappy and fast.

[Q] would Pac ROM run on a Verizon Enlighten phone

Hi,
Question for everyone - will the PAC rom run on a Verizon Enlighten? I also posted a similar question in Paranoid Android - the two roms I have an interest in running (obviously one or the other - not both at the same time). I have been trying to figure out the minimum requirements and admit I can't find them anywhere. I am currently running the bloated stockrom v2.3.4, although I do have root and rom manager installed. I would LOVE to be able to replace it (with either one) - they both look pretty cool. Certainly better than what I have running now lol. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] Stable Way To De-Nook SM-T530NU?

I recently got a SM-T530NU Nook, and I would like to de-Nook it. I have rooted it and installed TWRP, but I am having a hard time figuring out what the most stable ROM available is. It seems like many of the most popular ROMs have camera problems, but please correct me if I am mistaken.
Is there a ROM for this device where everything works as it should? I would be happy with just a rooted non-Nook version of stock if that's my best option, and I'm open to both KitKat and Lollipop, whichever will give me what I'm looking for.
Many thanks in advance!
